At Noble, we deliver the SLII programme as either an in person or virtual programme. Option 1 - a two-day session, in person at North Scare - 9th & 23rd October, 9am to 4.30pm. Option 2 - 5 x two & a half hour virtual sessions via Zoom. We blend self-directed learning, online discussions, interactive exercises, reflection, and offline assignments with a comprehensive personal leadership assessment/360 feedback tool. Ruth has over twenty years of Wood Carving and Pyrography experience and will guide you step by step to create a 2d Relief Carving on a solid piece of Local Wood using traditional gouged and mallets or a design drawn and burnt into the wood. The workshop will take place in an outdoor studio space set on the grounds of the 48 acres Birtley Estate.

2 day Portrait Workshop in acrylics inspired by Dante Gabriel Rossetti   Join well known Edinburgh artist and tutor Suzanne Kemplay and model Beth Davison to create a portrait in the style of the pre Raphaelite Brotherhood. Expect an atmospheric set and romantic lighting in keeping with the Rossetti’s style, with a few modern touches thrown in.   On Day 1 Suzanne will give a short talk on how to approach your composition and how to capture the spirit of the artist’s technique. You’ll plan and sketch out a drawing in the morning before moving on to painting in the afternoon and on day two.  All materials are supplied (or feel free to bring your own) and the class is kept small to ensure everyone gets some individual attention. This course is most suited to those who have some drawing experience but we welcome beginners. Over 14s only. The workshop will run from 10 - 4pm on 1 and 2 April.

You’ve seen the results of letterpress printing in pictures and ads, but now you can print your own cards, posters and invites. Explore the rich textures and colours that come from this classic form of printing and get inspired by classic design styles. Learn to set type with a composing stick or alternatively you could create larger scale pieces that are more fluid and decorative. Leave with short print runs of each project and a fab new skill.

You then undertake an advanced level tutorial of technique to make a colour changing bath bomb to match your captivating second complimentary colour changing Gin.
