This is a 13-week term. * Notes on 2-Person Classes Both the Tuesday 8.05pm class in Euston, and the Saturday courses in Westminster will focus on:  Learning how to relax  The use of the movements in Tai Chi Form (applications)  Applying the movements so that you maintain your own integrity (centre of balance)  Finding & working from the centre/core/Dantian  Developing the sense of ‘feel’ when working with someone else  Connecting your centre to your hands  Turning a partner’s energy around so as to unbalance him/her  We will also work on a 2-Person Tai Chi Form in order to understand applications of moves Posture, Balance, and Intention. By far the most important part of these classes is developing the ability to sense and be aware not only of one's own posture, balance, and intention, but also that of another person. Relaxation. Many of the exercises are ultimately about the ability to act from a very relaxed body and mind, so that (for example) if someone pushes towards you, you don't 'lock up' (the instinctive reaction), but instead you sense the push, and divert it. Initially it is this 'locking up' (which in effect makes you unable to move), that we are working on undoing. This is about getting more control of your sympathetic nervous system (fight & flight), the 'stress' system, so that in difficult situations, you 'roll with the punches' better.

First Aid training – Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) (FAA Award Level 2) is QCF, Ofqual and HSE approved awarding organisation. This course delivered over a minimum of 6 hours is both practical and theoretical covering responsibilities of the first aider, reporting, first aid hygiene, bleeding, shock, seizures, assessments, resuscitation, angina, heart attacks, choking, minor injuries and dealing with an unresponsive casualty, compliant with the latest health and safety executive regulations and guidelines. ATTIRE AND DRESS CODE We would recommend for all female candidates to wear trousers, comfortable shoes so that they can all practice the technique of CPR effectively on the CPR manikins. In this class we will talk about different kinds of wadding and will learn about the quilting together of all the layers with either straight lines or freemotion stitching. Then we will learn to bind our mini quilts (bring the mini quilt tops we created in earlier classes, or bring your own) Wadding and thread all included in the price, as well as a copy of my In Stitches sewing handbook. You will also receive a free walking and free motion foot for your machine! Just let me know when you book what machine you have (this offer does not apply to Bernina feet I'm afraid!)

The Level 1 Workshop include how to start using Makaton in everyday situations; immediate needs, home, familiar people, food, events, activities and objects. You will also discover hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use to maximise communication. Embark on a journey to become a workplace hero with our comprehensive one-day First Aid course. This dynamic and engaging training program is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to handle emergency situations confidently and effectively.

This course is suitable for all. You will learn how to make your own egg tempera paint from natural pigments and produce your own 10 x 12 " painting. All materials are included in the price but please bring old clothes/apron.

Level 2 Workshop (F2F) Level 2 training builds on the knowledge you gained in Level 1 training. Content Level 2 training provides a practical learning session on how apply the Makaton Language Programme. The Level 2 Workshop builds on topics learnt from Level 1 training including; people, food, activities, objects and events. New vocabulary will also be introduced which is ideal for the school environment and work places. You will begin to learn more abstract concepts such as spatial locations, attributes, pronouns and actions. Duration Face to face workshops comprise of a minimum of six and a half learning hours. Workshops generally will take place over a full day of training.
