Framework Dowsing

framework dowsing

I was first introduced to dowsing while completing my Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship at GEC Machines in Rugby, Warwickshire. One of the placements was within the Electrical Maintenance Department where my supervisor was kind enough to spend some time showing me how to rod dowse. He gave me a set he had made himself. Very soon after this my sister taught me how to dowse with a pendulum and work with food supplements and the Schuessler Tissue Salts. She also helped me to improve my diet and cookery skills. We both used cheerful glass beads and brightly colored yarn for our pendulums. Soon after my first child was born I realized that he was following a similar pattern of health to me and within a few months I was given the contact telephone number for Mrs H. Lucie Bidie by a good friend David Kerruish who still has a Wholefood Shop in Rugby. Lucie Bidie put me in touch with one of her students from her who treated our little family. I was quickly asking for more information and wanted to extend my dowsing skills beyond working with the vitamin and mineral supplements. I began training with Lucie Bidie in 1987 and continued to work with her until shortly before her death in 2002. Lucie and her husband Stewart were both instrumental in the founding of the Radionic Association, both financially and on committee. They were trained by the De La Warrs and had Radionic analysis and treatment instruments made by the De La Warr Laboratories. Lucie taught students via the School of Radionics but as her findings and techniques changed from the school's protocols this became more and more tricky. Around 2000 I was blessed with meeting 2 people who stretched my concepts of the analysis and treatment of clients. I realized I had become quite rigid in my thinking. They were Barbara Garratt and Chris Bacon. Conversations are divergent and energizing. I have been distance healing for over 25 years which is very rewarding. I also get so much satisfaction from guiding people to be dowsing at their highest level, while achieving confidence in their accuracy and results.

OneBus is a unified collective of commercial bus operators in Greater Manchester. OneBus was launched in 2018 to enable bus companies to speak with one voice and drive a shared commitment to improve public transport across the Greater Manchester region. High-quality, good-value and easy-to-use public transport is critical to delivering better connectivity and improved mobility for local people. Most importantly, it underpins the region’s drive to create a thriving economy, ensure good jobs and opportunity for all, provide access to affordable housing, and deliver safe, healthy and inclusive communities. The OneBus partnership represents bus operators in Greater Manchester, committed to improving travel as part of an integrated network that gets Greater Manchester moving. Buses are central to the future of Greater Manchester and our positive package of proposals can make a real difference to tackling the biggest challenges facing our communities; road congestion and air quality. Building on the significant investment already made by operators, we believe there is a window of opportunity for everyone to work together to deliver a revolution in the region’s bus network that puts customers first and offers excellent value for both passengers and public investment. Our blueprint for a partnership model in Greater Manchester is consistent with the new powers in the Bus Services Act and proposes: 450 new low emissions buses over the next three years to boost the region’s air quality, with the first 150 delivered by 2020 More flexible and simplified tickets, recommendation of two-year price freeze on multi-operator bus fares, and more affordable travel for people of all ages An action plan for Transport for Greater Manchester and other agencies to tackle congestion hotspots, speed up journeys and cut gridlock A single unified brand identity for all bus services, with individual operator buses clearly identifiable as part of a partnership Improved integration of bus, tram and rail services Joint bus network review to maximise connectivity for passengers, including the evaluation of the potential for off-peak, limited stop, night time or 24 hour services Better on-board customer experience, including extension of free WiFi across the bus fleet A fully coordinated, central approach to traffic management, customer contact and travel information

Nicola at Company of Nature

Welcome! Company of Nature supports wellbeing and sustainability through nature connection. It offers forest bathing walks and nature-based activities in the beautiful woodlands and natural areas of Bedfordshire. Company of Nature also offers events, advice, training and packages to support organisations’ work in wellbeing and environmental engagement through nature. It was set up by Nicola Scholfield who has a background in ecology and sustainability and is a qualified forest therapy guide. my story I’ve felt a deep connection with the natural world for as long as I remember. I grew up in rural Bedfordshire and have fond childhood memories of roaming the countryside and visiting beautiful natural places. My love of the wilds led to a degree in ecology and later a masters degree in leadership & sustainability. I’ve enjoyed sharing my love and understanding of nature in many ways since then. I spent many years in the business and charity sectors delivering projects and campaigns to engage people in environmental issues. During this time I experienced first hand the crucial role that nature can play in supporting our mental health and wellbeing. I also developed an understanding of how connecting with nature not only helps our wellbeing but also encourages us to value and care more for nature. I have trained as a Forest Therapy Guide through Nature & Therapy UK, and guide shinrin yoku (forest bathing) and natural mindfulness walks. I also deliver nature-based activities for groups and families in Bedfordshire for The Wildlife Trust. I’m excited by the potential of nature connectedness to support not only our wellbeing, but to encourage the positive actions we need to restore the natural world. I set up Company of Nature to help us restore our relationship with the natural world – to benefit both people and planet. I believe that at the heart of our own wellbeing is a thriving and nourishing planet. We live in the company of nature; we are part of nature and it is part of us. Today I live and work in and around the beautiful Greensand Country of Bedfordshire, and feel very much at home among its heaths and woodlands.

From its inception in 1999 Foresight has grown from a group of enthusiastic volunteers with a mission to assist blind and partially sighted people to lead more fulfilled lives, into a well respected mainstream support organisation addressing the varied and complex needs of its clients. Demand for the services of the organisation is such that Foresight has already grown out of its first home and moved into a new improved premises. Whilst the organisation was delivering a limited range of services under a variety of grant-funded schemes these premises were adequate and indeed accommodated 10,000 visits last year. Foresight, however, realised some time ago, that if it was going to continue to grow and sustain itself in the future it needed to move away from grant dependency towards becoming a deliverer of mainstream services. During extensive market research with its client group, Foresight uncovered a massive range of needs and untold areas of distress that were not being addressed by the statutory authorities. After long negotiations with the local authority Foresight were able to successfully tender for its first contract to deliver services. These have proved so successful that the local authority has procured additional services from the organisation. Foresight has also applied to several external bodies for funding assistance on new projects and these are due to come online very shortly. The only obstacle now in the way of the organisations' expansion and sustainability is the building it occupies. It is not large enough to accommodate the increasing number of its clients, is not adaptable to meet the specialised needs of its clients and it cannot accommodate the new services Foresight wish to offer its growing client base. This will shortly be addressed as we establish a new base for the organisation that is fit for use and this will be a major stand of the organisations move towards sustainability and away from grant dependence. During its phenomenal growth Foresight has benefited from the wide experience of its Trustees, who have supported the staff and volunteers in growing the business in a sustainable and measured way and this experience will stand the organisation in good stead during its next phase of growth.

Body conditioning (strength exercises) is a great way of improving your cycling. Whatever the season and whatever the weather, you can always do some strength and conditioning training to help you improve your performance on your bike. Let’s take a look at different exercises that are great for cyclists. Menu – The exercises What do you need to do? Exercises with bodyweight Exercises with weights Final thoughts The exercises: Burpees: use the whole body and improve power Leg lifts: these target hip flexors as well as abdominal stabilizers that help smoothen your pedalling. Planks (and variations of them): these improve your core strength and thus make you more efficient on your bike. Lunges: These help with all of the major muscle groups in cycling including calves, hamstrings, quads and glutes. Weighted exercises: kettlebell swings, renegade rows, front squats and single-leg deadlifts are all really useful for improving body condition. What do you need to do? If you’re wanting to improve your cycling and aren’t already doing conditioning and strength exercises, this is a big thing you can do to see improvement. Since cycling uses only one leg at a time, it needs repeated forces and is largely an aerobic activity. Cyclists also need to have endurance and a strong core. Lots of activities address these requirements but there are some that, when combined, are ideal for cyclists and their bodies’ needs. The best thing to do in terms of strength training is to choose exercises that have a similar movement pattern to cycling both with the lower body and the upper body. It’s also important to increase muscular endurance and core strength. What you want from body conditioning is to have a strong support system for when you’re cycling. The stronger you are aerobically, the better chance you will have of staving off fatigue in races and you will have more power potential. The following exercises use dumbbells and kettlebells. If you’re unsure of weight, see what you can manage. If you are unable to complete the set number of reps, lower the weights.
