The Music Technology, Production and Recording course can lead to a degree and career in many different professions. In one year, you could be well on your way to a new job or university study such as: • sound engineer • producer • media composer • sound recordist • music performer • recording artist • acoustic engineer • mixing or mastering engineer • sound designer The qualification gives you all the academic knowledge and creative skills you need for higher education study. It also provides the opportunity to develop study skills that help you to succeed at HE or in the industry sector. The course runs for 3 days per week (9.15am - 2.45pm) What will I study?  The course explores various areas of the industry and in particular those that are career based and can be studied at a higher level. Key subject areas are: • Acoustics in Music Production and Recording  • Music Composition and Theory • MIDI and Audio Sequencing • Sound and Music for Visual Media • Music Technology in Performance • Studio Production and Recording • Sampling and Synthesis You will learn to use industry-standard software and hardware equipment in the classroom, recording studio and live room environments that emulate real-world scenarios and working practices. 

A mandala is basically a circle that becomes this beautiful container to hold all your ideas and emotions. We're gonna kick off our workshop together with this really relaxing meditation – complete with crystals and incense – to quiet that busy mind and find the right focus and concentration you need to create your mandala. Once you're feeling ready and calm, you'll create your own personal mandala using different beans, letting your imagination run wild. (we'll glue them on paper) While you're working, I'll be sharing the history, process, and meaning behind mandalas in a super easy way – we'll explore everything from how they show up in nature to their role in religion and art. I'll show you some incredible pictures of mandalas from around the world that'll blow your mind. When your wonderful work is done, I'll guide you through a creative visualization to reconnect with your inner center. Then here's the beautiful part – you'll choose 3 beans from your mandala and plant them with some cotton and water by your window at home. You get to watch them germinate and grow, and they'll become your new seeds for the coming months. It's this amazing cycle – from creating your mandala circle to planting actual seeds that will grow into new life. Your inner work becomes outer growth, literally. P400 - Asbestos Surveying and Analysis is a one day foundation level course, which provides candidates with the fundamental knowledge to start a career in the asbestos surveying and analysis professions, and as a progression route to the asbestos Proficiency qualifications. It gives candidates an introductory level of knowledge on the health risks of asbestos fibres, and how to manage asbestos-containing materials in their work. Candidates for this course are not expected to have prior knowledge and experience but having an awareness of the contents of both HSG248 Asbestos: The analysts' guide (July 2021) and HSG264 Asbestos: the survey guide January 2010), would be advantageous.

The NTDA Tyre Technician Development Scheme was introduced following the huge success of the REACT working safely at the roadside licensing scheme. the recent changes to the apprenticeship framework and the general interest expressed by NTDA tyre retailers to have a standardised licensing scheme for retail centre based personnel. This scheme, effectively, is intended to act as a form of self-regulation for the tyre retail industry and represents a very exciting opportunity for both employers and employees in that it improves the mobility of tyre technicians by providing them with a nationally recognised license designed to demonstrate their competency. Similar self-regulation schemes have proven highly effective in other industries, such as the Electro-technical certification Scheme (ECS), which has issued thousands of cards to competent electricians. The NTDA Tyre Technician Professional Development Scheme is based on the following structure: Licensed Retail Tyre Technician (LRTT) Licensed Vehicle service Technician (LVST) Licensed Commercial Tyre Technician (LCTT) (This does not replace the REACT license to work safely at the roadside, which will remain unchanged, as it relates to roadside safe working as opposed to specific commercial tyre fitting competencies) The common criteria for a company to apply for any of the licenses is as follows: Whether applications are submitted by a tyre retailer, manufacture’s training department, or independent training provider, an individual must have been trained or re-trained and assessed as competent against the relevant occupational standards criteria for each license. Evidence of this (such as certificates, training records etc.), must be retained and made available when requested by the NTDA who will maintain a database of all licensed personnel. INTERESTED? Confined Space Risk Management and Permits - This course includes a basic level of confined space knowledge with the opportunity to use confined space equipment in a simulated environment and a team exercise of creating and reviewing a safe system of work. Note: A pre-requisite qualification is required to complete this course. Day 1 is a CS1 course and the Confined Space Risk Management (CSRM) can be completed as a 1 Day add-on.
