The manicure offers the therapist or technician a whole range of options to suit nearly every client. This course will teach you everything you need to know about offering a professional manicure and includes a practical training session and assessment. Gel Polish treatments are an increasingly popular treatment within the professional beauty industry. Gel Polish is applied to the client’s nail and then cured using an LED or UV lamp to create a longer lasting nail treatment (up to 3 weeks) than a standard manicure. The GTi Gel Polish course covers how to complete gel polish application and demonstrates the correct removal techniques. The course also covers reception and consultation, contra-indications to treatment and aftercare advice. The GTi Tips With Acrylic Overlay course will teach you how to apply the Acrylic System (Liquid and Powder) in conjunction with nail tips. The course covers how to complete the application and demonstrates the correct removal techniques. It also covers reception and consultation, contra-indications to treatment and aftercare advice. On completion of the course you will receive three recognised and insurable qualifications.  Includes: 3 Hard copy take home training manuals. Duration – Fast track two-day practical classroom-based training plus online theory work. Theory work to be completed in your own time via The Guild student portal before your practical course date. Practical day – 10am – 6pm & 10am – 4.30pm inc short lunch break. It is advisable that students arrive 15 mins early to ensure a prompt start. In a lot of cases the practical training can be finished earlier than expected depending on how many students there are, and the time taken on practical work. The QA Level 2 Award in Moving People Safely (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who work, or intend to work, in a role that involves assisting and moving people. It is the perfect course for those working in a variety of health and social care environments such as care homes.  Successful candidates will learn the key principles of safe handling and how to apply these in their workplace. They will also practise a range of techniques, ensuring that they leave the course confident in the safe moving and handling of people.

This is the Alan d signature course. Aimed at barbers returning to the industry or experience barbers feeling ‘bogged down’ with their everyday routine and looking for inspiration. It’s also ideal for those trained in Ladies Hairdressing who haven’t been formally trained in the latest barbering techniques. You will learn the 5 Alan d Foundation Barbering haircuts along with use of clippers, fading, and beard & moustache trimming.

Awareness of Safeguarding Safeguarding • Adults & Children at Risk Our Safeguarding Workshops cover a variety of topics, including identifying signs of abuse or neglect, understanding legal responsibilities related to safeguarding, and implementing effective strategies for preventing harm. These Workshops are led by experienced Trainers who have extensive knowledge in the field of Safeguarding. They are designed to provide Healthcare Professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to protect vulnerable individuals in their care. The Workshops are highly interactive, providing participants with plenty of opportunities to engage in discussions, ask questions, and practice new skills. We believe that this hands-on approach enhances learning and helps participants apply what they’ve learned in real-world situations. Course: Four Hours Cost:  £45 + vat per person Awareness of Safeguarding Qualification will provide an understanding of Safeguarding which can be used in a workplace, activity group or any instance where a person comes into contact with children or adults at risk. The Qualification provides learners with the knowledge to identify a Safeguarding concern, record a disclosure and report to the appropriate person. Effective supervision offers many opportunities for learning and growth, as well as providing invaluable support. Successfully completing this training will enable you to work as a supervisor-tutor with Part 3 trainees and as a supervisor with qualified HG therapists. The IMI Light Vehicle Inspection Technician Accreditation is for experienced mechanics who would like to gain recognition for their skills and knowledge. It is also accepted by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) as the stage 1 entry qualification for mechanics and technicians who wish to train to become an MOT Tester for class 4 and 7 vehicles (cars and vans) It is normally valid for 3 years and successful candidates, as well as receiving a certifcate, photo card and pin badge, will also be entered on to the IMI Professional Register. This is a public-facing register to showcase individuals working in the motor industry, who have been recognised for their experience, professionalism and commitment to ethical working practices. However, there will be no requirement for you to re-accredit if you go on to complete your IMI Level 2 Award in MOT testing (classes 4 & 7) within the 3 year period. As an Inspection Technician you must be able to work unsupervised – ideally, you should be in full time employment with at least 3 years experience (4 years if you wish to become an MOT tester) to ensure you are familiar with the techniques for vehicle servicing, inspection and system(s) diagnosis. There are 5 practical assessments for this route and two online exams, one containing 30 questions and a second containing 10 questions. PLEASE NOTE THESE ASSESSMENTS ARE TO A LEVEL 3 STANDARD AND ARE DESIGNED TO BE TOUGH. THEY CONCENTRATE ON FAULT FINDING WITHIN A GIVEN TIMESCALE. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL FIND ALL OF THE FAULTS WITHIN 1 HOUR.
