Dennis is a Certified Money Coach (CMC)® and the founder of Cambridge Money Coaching. Money Coaching is a framework for understanding the unconscious patterns, beliefs and behaviours around money that we all have. This understanding is the key to achieving true financial independence and success because it drives our ability to make considered, long-term financial decisions. This is particularly important when we face the challenges of a sudden change in circumstances. Money is at the centre of our lives, but very few of us have been taught how to understand it or manage it. With over 30 years’ experience in financial services, Dennis offers clear, practical guidance on how to address the common problems associated with money choices, patterns, and the day-to-day management of money issues. He holds an Investment Advice Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI). Dennis believes strongly in building money awareness and helping young people prepare for the challenges of today’s world. He has been a Business Adviser with Youth Enterprise and worked with Cambridge schools as a mentor and guide to careers in Finance. Dennis is a regular guest on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and panellist at Wealth Industry and Wellbeing events in the UK. He is also a Money Coach trainer for the Money Coaching Institute of California. About Cambridge Money Coaching Coping with money issues, both practically and psychologically, can be a major life struggle for many people and yet there is very little help available. Money can trigger emotions and dealing with money issues can make us feel anxious, angry, ashamed and powerless. These responses affect our relationships at home and at work, and prevent us from realising our full potential. The atmosphere here at OMBS is warm and supportive with students who enjoy a balance between the intensity of the three term Professional Business Diploma course and the university student lifestyle in the city. Our ambitions for our students are wide-ranging. As well as acquiring the all-important technical skills we also know that soft skills are equally important. Many colleges, most notably those at university level, deliver training principally through large lectures, often with as many as 200 students at a time. Whilst this presents few disadvantages to more experienced students who want to study an academic subject in depth, many students would benefit from a greater level of individual attention in a smaller class environment learning practical hands-on-skills essential for effective job performance. OMBS offers a unique combination of excellent facilities, small class sizes, personal tutors and a relaxed friendly environment. As a small college we know every student individually and see them grow throughout their time here reaching levels of expertise they never thought they would achieve. We support them through their academic work as well as their personal experiences. What we provide our students here at OMBS is the chance to gain the advanced skills they need to tackle that first step of their career. They leave here feeling confident and capable about their future. A large number of our students come to OMBS because they have heard about what it is like being a student here at college and in Oxford; because one of their family has been before; or because their school has reassured them that this is the right place and the right course for them. We are lucky to be located in the very heart of Oxford, in St Aldate’s, opposite the beautiful Christ Church Meadow, surrounded by beautiful buildings and historic colleges of the University. Welcome to Foxwood Academy and welcome to our website. Hopefully, you will find all of the information you need on our website but if you have any specific questions you can contact us directly at the Academy. The ‘Help for Everyone’ drop down menu on the far right hand side provides you with clips and links to videos that you might find really useful and the ‘Site Map’ section in the ‘About Us’ menu will take you to a list of everything on the website. We are a school for children and young people with SEND but also a school for parents and carers. We want to provide you with the support and help that you might need and hopefully this website is your first stop. The children, young people and staff at Foxwood are remarkable. We have just over 110 children and young people and approximately 60 staff. Our youngest children start at age 4 and our oldest leave us at the age of 18. All of our children and young people have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and all of our children have difficulties with cognition and learning. About 75% of our children would be described as children and young people with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC or sometimes called ASD) and others can be described as having Sensory and /or Physical needs. We have a very strong set of core values here at Foxwood that guide us in every decision and action that we take. We believe in: Education – That every child with a special educational need deserves the best possible education available provided by the best teachers in the best schools and Academies. Independence – That every child and young person is given the opportunity to be as independent as they possibly can be. Celebration – That the children and young people should be happy here and celebrate their part in our community. Learning for Life – That Foxwood is a stepping-stone to bright futures. Futures where young adults can be happy, healthy, independent, and play an active part in society. MISSION Our mission is to reduce the risk of violence and aggression through campaigning, education and support. VISION Our vision is a society in which people are safer - and feel safer - from violence and aggression; we want people to be able to live life to the full. The Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK's pioneering personal safety charity and leading stalking authority, established in 1986, following the disappearance of 25-year-old Suzy Lamplugh, an estate agent and lone worker who went to meet a client and never returned. Suzy was never found and eventually declared deceased after seven years in 1993. Suzy Lamplugh Trust is widely regarded as a field expert in lone-working and personal safety training, stalking training, as well as consultancy, campaigning, and support services. It has a long history of working within the Violence Against Women and Girls sector, dealing particularly with stalking and harassment, given that it is believed, and indeed the evidence suggests Suzy may have been targeted by a stalker. The National Stalking Helpline was set up by the Trust in 2010, it has helped over 70,000 victims since its inception, and is the only service of its kind globally. The Trust exists so that what happened to Suzy does not happen to anyone else, and for over 35 years, we have worked towards reducing the risk of harassment, stalking, aggression, and violence by empowering people to take steps to avoid, mitigate or manage risks across all aspects of their life. The Trust campaigns heavily to raise greater awareness of personal safety and stalking issues, demand systemic change where needed, influence public policy, and promote a society in which people are safer and feel safer. Its longest running campaign has been the licensing of the operators and drivers of minicabs and private hire vehicles, which begun in 1998. This campaigning and policy work has been pivotal to changes in legislation and practice nationally - including in the introduction of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997, and the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, which introduced specific offences for stalking, and the 2020 stalking protection orders.
