Embossed Copper Box Workshop

What you'll do Encourage nature into your garden by making your own bird box or bug hotel, all from recycled materials. Your design can be based entirely around what you’d like to attract to your garden, from birds to bees. You’ll finish with your own completely unique piece for the garden. Your hosts, Scott and Sue, will guide you through everything you need to know, from the tools to use to how to prep your recycled material. They'll be happy to help with ideas big or small and will have example designs to hand and lots of inspiration. You’ll be creating in Scott’s heated workshop, fully equipped with everything you need and with lots of space for building. At the end of your experience you’ll get to take home a bug house to be proud of, as well as leaving with the skills to create other upcycled pieces. Facilities WiFi Refreshments available Toilets Parking Child friendly (0-16) COVID-19 guidelines As you arrive you’ll need to confirm that you’re in good health and your temperature will be taken. Please bring a face mask as you’ll need to wear one at certain points during your experience. Face shields will be optional to wear for the rest of your time in the workshop and these will be provided. All workspaces will be fully sanitised and there will regular hand washing throughout. On the day You don't need any previous woodwork experience, just some enthusiasm! Please wear old clothes (or something that you don’t mind getting damaged or torn) and sensible, closed toe footwear. Work boots are recommended. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day, but please bring along your own packed lunch. Course Location courses can be either in Glastonbury or at Scott's own workshop near the Bath and West show grounds (BA46QN) and will be confirmed.

Creating shabby chic furniture workshop

Get your friends and colleagues together for a relaxed workshop creating a showstopping Autumnal centrepiece with our Pumpkin Flower Arrangement Workshop! Within this Halloween inspired flower workshop, you’ll learn how to create the perfect seasonal arrangement to showcase in a fresh pumpkin. This is a perfect display for Autumn and with Halloween approaching. Our classes are relaxed, informative and taught by us - your experienced and qualified creative tutors! October 20th sunday 2024 12- 2pm Stainton Village hall Stainton TS8 9BB

Day 1 will start with an outdoor classroom input, and then out on the ground to practise some map reading skills and some compass work. Day 2 will be out on the hills all day, and will include individual assessments. The 2 days will be very relaxed and enjoyable. Successful candidates will receive an official NNAS certificate.

If you love African art and texture then this workshop is for you! I have combined my love of Africa and my passion for creating mosaics into a fun workshop where you will learn how to create a slim piece of art using African beads, colourful vibrant glass and slate chips. What to expect You will be shown how to prepare the base, mix your own adhesive and combine your materials using a range of techniques to create interest and texture. Who is this for? Suitable for beginners, however, those with some mosaic experience are also welcome to join. 6 week summer term, please see full details below… Time: Wednesday Morning 10-12pm Dates: 24th July – 28th August (6 weeks) Length: 2 hours each week, each term runs for 6 weeks Tutor: Krista Thomson Where:  Workshop 925 Unit F9 The Mayford Centre, Mayford Green Woking, Surrey GU22 0PP What does the term time course involve?  Our term time classes allow students of all abilities the opportunity to design and create their own jewellery while learning new skills along the way. During the first session your tutor will settle you all in and get to grips with what each student is aiming to complete or learn during the term. Your tutor will discuss your different aims and goals, whether that’s really focusing upon learning and practicing a certain skill, or if it is to finish a specific project. Any new starters will be given a tour of the workshop and you will be introduced to some basic techniques during the first session, so you feel comfortable within the workshop. You can then discuss your ideas for the term and your tutor will help you with how and where to order materials from for your project, we have a substantial list of good suppliers and discount codes to get you started. Soon enough you will have a good understanding of the essential jewellery making skills which you can then go on to develop further, there are many areas of jewellery making to explore. Throughout your time with us, your tutor and peers will help you develop the skills and knowledge required to bring your designs to life. Each student will be working on their own projects, everybody has different directions and design ideas and techniques they want to work on. However during our terms we run demonstrations which are relevant to student projects to help them complete aspects of their project- other students are welcome to watch these too, we also run demonstrations requested by students, this might be a repeat of something a student would like a refresher on, or maybe a technique they would like to learn for their next project and we will also provide demonstrations to strive to introduce you to new skills. We also like to keep you up to date with industry news, show you designer inspiration to help you learn methods to process new ideas and gain an understanding of design processes behind jewellery making. We are very much here to support your development. The more terms you complete with us, the more time you have to develop a wide range of skills and a good understanding of the industry as a whole.
