The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training. However, having the correct first aid provision in the workplace is not just a legal requirement, it is incredibly important for the safety of all members of staff! The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace. Courses are aimed at supporting engineering apprentices and T-Level learners who are taking their first steps into the workplace environment, providing basic information in a range of key health and safety hazards in the engineering workplace. Modules allow an understanding of the concept of hazard and risk, a learner's own and their employer's legal obligations, the types and nature of safety hazards and how to avoid the hazard or reduce its risk of causing harm and how to respond to emergency situations. In addition to common mandatory health and safety modules, learners will also choose modules relevant to their occupational pathway.

A Health & Safety Executive Approved course that complies with First Aid Regulations 1981. This is a refresher course for those that have previously attended and passed the First Aid At Work Course and now need to renew their certification. Who Should Attend? People that hold a valid First Aid At Work Certificate Course Content Health & Safety Using a First Aid Kit Incident Management Resuscitation / CPR - Adult, Child, Baby AED Familiarisation Recovery Position Choking - Adult, Child, Baby Burns & Scalds Poisoning including Anaphylaxis Epilepsy Shock Bleeding & Nose Bleeds Asthma Head Injuries Fractures, Sprains & Strains Many Other Specific Conditions Course Duration: Two Days Assessment / Certification Independent qualified assessors carry out the assessments. Each delegate that passes will receive a Certificate valid for Three years. Please note that training can take place upto 3 months in advance of the Certificate expiry date. The new Certificate will be dated from the expiry date of the old Certificate.

This is a 2 day course which after completion and a satisfactory assessment, re-qualifies the holder for a further 3 years to act as a first aider in the workplace under HSE (First Aid) regulations 1981. Deligates should hold a current FAW certificate.
