ZZEUS Training is headed by Tom Brookes who runs a successful award winning fire protection company and is also the Chairman of the Fire and Security Association, the specialist division of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA). Tom has been training fire alarm engineers since 2002 both the theory and legislation and also on a practical level. He is a leading figure within the fire alarm industry, currently sitting on eight British Standard Institute committees, being involved in writing and updating BS5839-1 since 2006 and giving him a clear understanding of the standard rather than an interpretation. All training has been developed for engineers by a practicing fire alarm engineer and not academics, therefore using vast experience and a logical mind to solve fire safety issues and faults within commercial buildings, transferring this into the program of study and practical training. Many of the engineers trained by Tom have gone on to successful self employment, managing fire companies and going forward with the skills to pass the brand new EAL Level 3 BS5839-1 examination as well as passing the BAFE third party assessments to SP203. Training is carried out in our purpose built training rooms installed with fully working fire alarm panels and attached Apollo devices for your practical training. ZZEUS Training provide EAL Recognised and approved bespoke training and examinations for electricians & fire alarm engineers at our specially designed training centre. Our qualifications are equivalent to European Qualification Framework (EQF) Level 4. We offer certificated fire alarm training courses consisting of: A 4 day course on fire alarm system design A 1 day refresher course to bring you up to date An examination only, for those candidates that feel that they have enough knowledge and experience to sit the exam without re sitting a course We aim to offer the best theory and practical training in the industry and successfully gain you the accreditation required for you industry and to conform to current British Standards.

Our ethos is to run fun, friendly and relaxed courses helping people develop the confidence and skills to enjoy their own adventures in the outdoors. Stu Lade, Mountain Independence Mountain Independence is run by Stuart Lade, I’m a keen climber and mountaineer of nearly 20 years with adventures throughout the UK and across the world. From starting out instructing in a number of climbing walls I have progressed through the Mountain Training schemes to gain both the Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor and the Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor awards, the two highest qualifications for climbing and mountaineering activities in the UK. I specialise in climbing, mountaineering and hill walking activities and throughout my career I have, and continue to, work freelance for numerous organisations instructing and coaching clients at all levels. I work on the majority of courses, but you will also benefit from the input of other carefully selected staff members from time to time. We only use qualified instructors, with extensive local mountain experience; and a passion for sharing their knowledge with others. Additionally all our staff are dedicated professionals, being members of AMI / MTA and engaging in continuing professional development; not to mention being friendly folk : ) Our ethos for Mountain Training qualifications courses is not only to use highly qualified and experienced instructors, but also current and active freelancers doing the work of the award schemes that they are delivering. We’re based right on the high street in Llanberis, from our home in Snowdonia National Park. We have a quiet, private space for Mountain Independence where we run morning meetings and evening lectures; equipped with facilities for weather briefings, presentations and lots of resources. We deliver programmes to children in Greater Manchester and train up Climbing Instructors with therapeutic knowledge and all the tools required to deliver the Climbing Calm programme. Our three day training programme is delivered by a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, one of the UK's leading Speech and Language Therapists and one of our experienced Climbing Calm Instructors. Upon leaving the course you will receive the 'Certificate in Therapeutic Skills for Climbing Instructors', a Climbing Calm manual and a range of resources so that you can immediately begin to deliver the programme upon your return. To be eligible to enrol on this course you must be a qualified climbing instructor- either holding an SPA or CWA with more than one years post qualification experience working with children.
