ABOUT US The St. Neots English Centre is a language school that specialises in UK School Integration and Study Holiday Courses for groups of young learners aged 11 to 17 from across the world. The school is situated in the historic Cambridgeshire Market Town of St. Neots, located close to the famous University City of Cambridge. Our Study Holiday courses last between 1 and 4 weeks and can be tailored to meet your requirements. Students are hosted by local families, receive lessons from TEFL qualified English Teachers on site at our own English Centre premises or in a host school. Students take part in afternoon activities such as ten pin bowling, the local trampoline park and they also have the opportunity to take part in varied social and cultural events including visits to London, Oxford, Cambridge and Peterborough. Our School Integration programme involves students spending time in one of 25+ local secondary schools that we currently partner with. Students are ‘buddied’ with an English student of a similar age and accompany them to lessons. They stay with local families in order to experience the English culture first hand and have the opportunity of weekend visits to cities such as London, Cambridge, Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon. Our school is situated in the historic town of St. Neots in Cambridgeshire and overlooks the Market Square on the main High Street. Located within easy reach of London (45 minute train ride) and the vibrant cities of Cambridge and Peterborough (30 mins coach/train trip). St. Neots offers a variety of shops and a traditional market once a week in the bustling town centre. However, if its peace and tranquillity you seek, the town sits right on the banks of the River Great Ouse and its luscious green parks.

It is a huge pleasure and privilege to welcome you to West Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC). We are a community special school, under the organisation of Leeds City Council. We have 242 learners on roll. The SILC welcomes learners who are aged between 2-19 years with an EHCP which is generic in classification. I am extremely proud to lead a school that caters for a wide range of Special Educational Needs in a truly bespoke and individual manner. Our pupils have varying needs such as CMLN (Complex and Multiple Learning Needs), moderate or severe learning difficulties, social, emotional mental health needs (SEMH) or autism. Everything we do at West SILC is based around the individual and their needs, offering them specific environments at one of our 5 sites is key to being inclusive and individual. Our pupils grow in all aspects of their lives through their time spent with us and leave us as more confident, independent and happy young people ready to access the next stage of their lives. The relationships our staff have with our pupils and their families is at the core of all the work we do, we recognise that the work we do is not solely based in the classroom or at school and it is a lifelong learning journey we are support our young people on. The school has a governing body which supports and challenges the Principal to guide the future direction of the school. West SILC is a regional centre of excellence for the MOVE programme, which supports our learners with physical disabilities to develop functional skills for everyday life – sitting, standing and for some, even walking. We provide outreach to other schools to develop these programmes.

JESUS – COMMUNITY - CREATIVITY THE BEAR CHURCH IS AN INDEPENDENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH BASED IN DEPTFORD, SE LONDON. WE ARE A HYBRID OF TWO CHURCHES: THE SHAFTESBURY CHRISTIAN CENTRE AND THE BEAR CHURCH WHICH MERGED IN 2007. The Shaftesbury Christian Centre began in 1844 in a loft space above a cowshed off Deptford High Street. It was started by eight Christian men and women as one of London’s first ragged schools, so called because the children were ‘dressed in rags’ with bare feet in all weathers. In 1862, the Earl of Shaftesbury wrote “there is no institution in England more worthy of support than the Deptford Ragged School”. The Deptford Ragged School was renamed ‘The Princess Louise Institute’ in 1914 while The Ragged School Union was renamed The Shaftesbury Society in 1944 and Livability in 2007. The Bear Church began as The Brown Bear in an old public house on Deptford High Street in 1990. It was started by a group of visionary leaders and young people from Ichthus Christian Fellowship as an outreach post and church for young people. Today - The Bear Church is part of The Deptford Ragged Trust. We are a diverse, creative and growing group of people committed to loving God and others. From our base at The Shaftesbury Christian Centre in Deptford we aim to offer a place of refuge, learning, family, innovation, worship, hospitality and entertainment for the people of Deptford and South East London. Our building is home to The Bear Church, Bear Cubs parent and toddler group, parenting courses, ESOL classes, BearLive music events, pantomimes, Deptford Breastfeeding Group, The Evening Service and soup kitchen, The Deptford Ragged School Archive, Psalms and Stretches and Inside Out. We support NXD Free Film Festival, Bench Outreach, The Big Lunch, AA, XLP, Cherish Uganda and more.

Concept is a newly-formed, independent group, not beholden to any larger concern. The leaders of the group are themselves deeply involved in private education and owe their livelihood to it. The group was born out of the conviction that private education is a force for good, but that, as in everything, there is room for improvement. How will that improvement happen? Primarily by listening. By listening - to why parents spend money on education for their children. What do they really want out of it - certainly not a mediocre result. By listening - to what the pupils themselves want from their schooling - of course it is exam grades which they know are the price of entry to a good university (and there are a growing number which are not good) or to a satisfying career, but what else do they want? By listening - to employers - what sort of people will they be looking to recruit into the companies of the future? By listening - to the worthwhile commentators who cast their minds forward to see the way in which the world is changing all around us, every day. In the lifetime of our children, standing still will be moving backwards. By listening - attentively, with our heads and with our hearts, we aim to provide schools and schooling that is consequential, and in being so recognises that children enjoy their lives when they see a purpose in their learning. In striving to achieve this, we will also be looking closely at ways of halting the apparently inexorable rise in fees for private education, with the result that over time a greater number of families will be in a position to choose the independent option.

When I was 21 I moved to Ireland to learn English and after a few years traveling around the island and working, I came to England with my son and his Dad. I have brought up my son bilingual, which has helped him with his Spanish GCSE. Creating Awareness Plastic in our oceans is a huge environmental and health problem. Reducing plastic from our everyday lives will help reduce the need for and cost of recycling. This is important because recycling streams are not correctly managed, and many are dysfunctional. We also need to correctly dispose of our plastic and other unwanted items, choosing to reuse, repurpose or give it away. Keeping plastic out of our oceans (and our food chain) is a big issue which is why I organise beach and underwater clean ups wherever and whenever I can. I also enjoy visiting schools to give presentations that include short videos about marine life, and coral reefs. Plus, we discuss the different types of plastic, how it is affecting the environment and how we can all try to ‘Say No To Plastic’. It seems almost unbelievable what a huge development F AIR has undergone during its existence. The original intention to found a company for the pleasure of flying has grown into one of the largest aviation schools in Central and Eastern Europe. We are extremely proud of the fact that we became the first private flight school in the Czech Republic in the early nineties, and that we defended our primacy in 2000, when we were the first to meet the requirements of the European Joint Aviation Regulations JAR-FCL 1 (Joint Aviation Rules) and thus became the international school CZ/FTO-001. Today, we can teach flying to a person of mature age who just wants to experience and feel the beauty of the third dimension, as well as a young boy or girl who wants to fulfill their dream and become a pilot of a commercial plane. Our school has the most modern technology and methodology it uses to train pilots, a corps of experienced instructors and a background that provides excellent conditions not only for students in training, but also for pilots who come to rent planes from us.
