Real Life Learning was born in February 2019 with a mission to support young people and adults with special learning needs and disabilities. Fast forward to 2021 and a new life beyond Covid-19 and we have evolved to support people with disabilities in work and study. We work in partnership with other health and education professionals and disability support organisations to bring you the best bespoke support available. We are based in Haslington near Crewe in South Cheshire and support clients across the North West and the UK. Our most remote client lives in Oban in the North of Scotland. We work face to face, in the virtual world and by the good old telephone! Real Life Learning was founded by Rob Pickersgill. Rob has spent his career working in Further, Higher and Adult Education and specialises in coaching and training clients to manage their disability to achieve their potential. Rob loves travelling in the family caravan to remote parts of the UK and France with his family and Bailey, the resident Cocker Spaniel. We like to reward our clients with our 'Refer a friend' scheme. If you'd like to recommend a friend or family member to us we will reward you with £50 cash when they sign up to a support programme.

Tecnis Academy began out of my interest in teaching children and supporting them to develop their confidence in their academic work. Tecnis Academy started as a one person team with me visiting students, homes to provide 1-1 tuition, this often involved driving from one house to the other with my then baby daughter (Now 9 years old) strapped on my back. At one point, I was visiting 20 homes in a week. In 2016, I made a decision to invite all my students to a small office space that I rented. 18 out of the 20 students followed me to the small office at the time. We grew from a small office to 4 centres across Kent after which the COVID pandemic hit. Tecnis Academy moved all tuition services to virtual tuition during the pandemic and we have not looked back since then. Tecnis Academy now helps to improve learning for over 2000 students across 10 countries and we work hard to improve the quality of our students’ learning experience every day. We provide regular free webinars and Live Talks offering Parents advice on the UK Educational System and Processes as well as free tips and tricks to help our students become high achievers in their academics.

Aya Aromas was founded in 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. We (Georgette & Sophinne) are sisters who both share an obsessive love for ethical home scents that are reminiscent of good times. We developed our scent range around childhood memories growing up in the UK and through family trips around Europe and Ghana. Aya is an Adinkra symbol in Ghana meaning resourcefulness and endurance represented as a fern and was used as a symbol of hope throughout the pandemic. The fern artwork in our packaging represents the Adinkra symbol and our commitment to being an eco-friendly brand. We are 100% environmentally friendly, vegan and sustainable and with our rebrand decided to plant a tree with every order as we believe climate action is everyone's responsibility. Each of our products have been designed to transform spaces and fill them with colour and character through the art of scent. We have been recommended by numerous major publications such as; Harper's Bazaar, The Times, Cosmopolitan, Stylist, House Beautiful and HSBC along with many others. Our Aya community has grown significantly in our first two years with customers from countries all across the globe including the USA, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.

'' Stonar is a school with, in my experience, a unique and wonderful charm. I am fortunate to live on our beautiful school site with my wife and my three children, all of whom attend Stonar. Having spent my twenties as an Infantry Officer in the army, I have worked in boarding and day schools for nearly 25 years, including ten years as a boarding Housemaster. I joined Stonar in September 2019. It's certainly been an interesting period to be a Head, but I am incredibly proud of the way that the pupils, staff and parents have responded to the challenges we have encountered as a result of Covid. We have improvised, adapted and overcome anything we have faced, but most importantly, we've thrived. Stonar is a kind, hard-working, happy school, with a family-oriented community. Children have the freedom to be themselves without the fear of being judged, and this, in turn, encourages their motivation to succeed. Our pupils retain their joy because they are not pressured to conform, but rather encouraged to blossom and discover their true passions. While a website cannot give you the same experience as a personal tour, I hope that you are starting to appreciate how special Stonar is and that you feel encouraged to start planning your visit.

The founder of Peony Blue, Jonna, spent her childhood running wild in the beautiful nature of Finland. The winters were spent enjoying the snowy landscapes and muted colours, and summers spent listening to the wind in the trees and the sound of waves at her grandparents' summer cottage on a small island. These memories have given her a huge love and appreciation of the nature around us. Jonna uses her roots deep in Nordic nature as a constant inspiration for her work and is committed to being respectful of the environmental impact made by her industry. Since graduating Jonna has explored many ways of creating floral designs using natural, biodegradable and recyclable materials. In the early years of Peony Blue, Jonna concentrated on wedding work and creating gorgeous wedding flowers for her clients as well as teaching other flower lovers about floristry. After the Covid pandemic put a stop for weddings and workshops, she rediscovered her long time dream of running a florist shop where she can combine beautiful flowers, eco friendly homewares and spreading joy with flowers on daily basis. After seven years of dreaming, the first Peony Blue shop will open its doors in Bournemouth in April 2021.

Chitepani is a subsistence farming village, situated 3200ft above sea level and approximately 9.3miles from Pokhara, Nepal’s second city. Although the Chitepani Trust was registered as a Charity in the UK in 2006, it had been functioning as a project since 2000 when Tika Ram Sapkota (a mountain guide at that time) and I, trekked to Annapurna Base Camp to celebrate the millennium. Tika told me about his home village Chitepani and of the need for some kind of small health centre. There was no medical provision in the village and it was necessary to walk a long way down a difficult mountain path and alongside the river before catching a bus to Pokhara and to the nearest doctor. A plan had been discussed but promised funding did not materialise. I decided to become involved at this stage. It took several years of fundraising in the UK before the health centre became well established with a full time health worker and regular health camps attended by a doctor. Health camps over the years have concentrated on issues such as eye problems, women’s health including smear testing, thyroid testing as well as general health and dental hygiene. Recently we have concentrated on providing information about Covid 19

Connectforce Community CIC is a social enterprise building connection, creativity & confidence within marginalised communities through collaboration with our network of artists. Why artists? Artists and performers are trained communicators, brimming with empathy and openness, and Connectforce is passionate about providing an accessible outlet for these skills to have a positive impact on wider society. With a network of over 100 artists, we work with communities to build programmes that best suit their needs. Through one-on-ones, mentoring and group workshops, we bring together artists with people of all ages who would benefit from support. Our story Connectforce was established in May 2020 as a COVID-19 emergency response, seeking to combat the isolation and growing disconnect for UK care home residents. Initially set out to provide the means with which these residents could communicate with their loved ones: donating electronic devices to over 165 of the most critically in-need care homes across the country. Since then, the national and global situation has developed, and Connectforce has grown and adapted; recognising the importance of going much further than the donation of physical resources to get to the root of the profound problem of social isolation within the communities that we work in.

Hi I'm Katie, the face behind Sealy MacWheely. I am a passionate spinner, knitter and lover of all things bright and colourful! Sealy MacWheely began with very humble beginnings and came into being initially whilst I was a student to raise money for the brilliant charity, Childreach International, with whom I trekked through the Andes of Peru in the summer of 2013. Once the trek to the summit of Machu Picchu was complete I simply couldn't let go of my wee business and after graduating and moving down to the outskirts of the wonderful city of Glasgow I refreshed and rebranded and began the daunting task of vending at local craft markets. It didn't take long for my business to outgrow itself and soon I was driving across the country to larger yarn and fibre festivals and events and with a little hesitation and a lot of excitement I eventually quit my regular job and took up Sealy MacWheely full time. This of course led me to my wee Yarn & Fibre Shop which would never have existed had it not been for the incredible support of our amazing yarn community. With the help of a successful Kickstarter campaign in the autumn of 2018 I was able to move into my beautiful wee shop in Kirkintilloch where I could focus all my creative energy into sharing my love of fluff and colour! I am also passionate about ecology and the environmental impact of my business has been factored into every decision I make. Both the shop and my home where I do my dyeing are powered by 100% renewable energy and I use absolutely no single use plastics in my branded products. I am proud to announce that Sealy MacWheely has recently teamed up with Ecologi, meaning that for every purchase made both in the shop and online a tree will be planted in an effort to combat the climate emergency that our planet currently faces. Although the Covid 19 pandemic has been a bumpy ride the shop has recently moved to a new premises with an in-situ dye studio and I have absolutely no intention of giving up! In fact I have so many exciting adventures lined up for the next year that I can't wait to share with you so keep your eyes peeled!

About We believe the future needs people-centred designers to make the world a better place. A brief history of Design Club 2021 2020 2019 2018 2017 2022 Slow start to the year after a pre-Christmas rise in Covid cases. With heavy (but hopeful) hearts, we made the decision to shift focus. Our new strategy is to create a curated directory of design tools for kids - products, projects and programmes that get kids doing design and design thinking. 2021 We're rebooting! Looking for Reboot Supporters to fund 2021/2022 activity. We've learned a lot from our first remote after school Design Club. And partnered with Multiverse and Future to reach new audiences, online and IRL. 2020 We started the year with new after school clubs in Coventry, Haslemere and Woking, and exciting plans for weekend clubs, but we had to hit pause due to Covid. We experimented with online delivery and invited parents to run design projects at home. Bright spots: Elsewhen ran a remote club and we got a bit of funding from Grant for the Web (which enabled us to think about how to reboot Design Club. 2019 We supported mentors to run 15 after school clubs, including the first Design Clubs outside London, in Blackpool and Dundee. You can Meet the mentors on our blog. Our weekend squad ran pop-up clubs at Science Museum, Kingston University and MozFest. Reached 500 children and had more than 800 people register an interest in mentoring. Started hosting peer-led Meetups and recognised our Super Mentors. Won funding from The Funding Network. And Growth Supporters helped us grow. 2018 We set up as a Community Interest Company in April. We're limited by guarantee, meaning all profits go back into growing Design Club. Founding supporters came on board. Reached more than 500 children through a mix of after school and weekend clubs. Ran our first mentor Meetups and got accepted as one of Makerversity's Makers with a Mission. Partnered with BMJ, WIRED and Token Dad to try new formats. 2017 We piloted our first after school Design Club. Reached over 150 children through a network of 50 volunteers. Partnered with Marvel and Moo to develop the learning experience. Partnered with CoderDojo and iOi to deliver weekend Design Clubs. Partnered with British Council to deliver Design Thinking mentor training. How Design Club is free We're a Community Interest Company limited by Guarantee This means we're a non-profit. We've raised some money through grants from The Funding Network, Mozilla and Grant for the Web. We're also backed by the design industry to inspire the next generation of design thinking. We've raised some funds through Founding Supporters, Growth Supporters and Reboot Supporters.
