This fun one day course is for a small group of students looking to develop the skills and knowledge to make a Roman Blind. All materials and equipment will be provided and the course will take place in our purpose built workshop in Almondbury

Create a pair of beautiful tealight holder to brighten up your home or to give as lovely gifts. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners. There’s no glass cutting or previous skills required. You will have the opportunity to create your own tealights, starting with a blank piece of glass and decorating them using a selection of accessory glass, including frit, stringers, glass dots and enamels. Your work will be fired and shaped in the kiln, returned and ready to collect appropriately 2/3 weeks later. All materials and kiln firing are included.

Course Entry Requirements: This course is suitable for learners who have completed the Foundation Dermal Fillers course. This course is available to those who meet one of the following:  NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or equivalent Medically qualified (Doctor, Nurse, Dentist, Dental Nurse) 12 months needling experience 6 months needling experience and Anatomy & Physiology Level 3 Foundation Dermal Fillers or equivalent qualification This training course requires you to be an active practising aesthetic injector with a minimum of six months experience with a demonstrable portfolio of client treatments. This course is ideal for all, from beginners to confident makers. You will learn the basics of leather craft for accessories and be introduced to techniques including machine stitching on leather, hand finishing leather, inserting hardware and decorative leather techniques. You will be working with a sustainably sourced lush vegetable tanned leather. This is a perfect introductory or taster course to start your journey into leather craft. In order to complete your purse in a day we will use part pre-cut parts and the purse will be made from a ‘Hands of Tym’ pattern but do not fear there is still plenty of work for you to do. During the day you will be directed by your tutor Leathersmith and London College of Fashion Lecturer Georgie Tym to make a ‘raw edge’ ‘concertina’ small leather purse with small internal pocket and a flap closure. There will be one small stud to keep the purse closed and the opportunity to personalise with initials and a small design of your choice. The dimensions of the purse are H130mm x W 95mm x D 10mm and it will be the same construction as the purse in the photos featured. The course will be run from the home studio of Hands Of Tym in Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 9DHParking available on the drive with easy access via the M40. Banbury train station is a 30 min walk. This is a lovely craft to learn and uses up all those old worn out t-shirts, sheets, shirts etc that we tend to throw away. We will be cutting these into strips and learning a couple of techniques of hooking into a hessian base. In the class you can either work on a small flower brooch to finish in the session or you can make a start on a cushion cover to complete at home.
