Join us for an insightful training session led by Mark Arnold from Urban Saints. The aim of Additional Needs Ministry is to encourage, enable and equip children's, youth and families' workers to reach, include, create belonging for, and disciple all children and young people, especially those with additional needs or disabilities. As part of Urban Saints' mission to provide young people with opportunities to grow in their Christian faith, Mark is dedicated to ensuring that children and young people with additional needs are fully included in their strategy. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to better support and include all young people in our ministries. Key Information: This training will be taking place in person, at Christchurch Bedford. The training itself takes 2.5 hours, starting at 18:45. There is an option to join for a meal from 18:00 prior to the training. The training will end around 21:15.

Easter Monday Pilgrimage On Easter Monday, 21 April, join a thousand other pilgrims at St Albans Cathedral for a joyful pilgrimage and service that brings people together from across the Diocese. It’s a day for everyone— grandparents, parents, young people, kids, and even dogs (muddy boots welcome). There's no need to book tickets, just turn up! Or book to let us know your church is coming. The Service Arrive at the Cathedral to gather on the beautiful Abbey Orchard before heading inside from 2:30PM for an informal service at 3PM, filled with worship, a couple of thought provoking reflections and a short communion led by Bishop Richard, Bishop of Bedford. Join us for our Diocesan Leading your Church into Growth Conference from 6pm on Friday 27th September until 2pm on Sunday 29th September 2024, at High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon. The conference offers a unique opportunity to attend with key members of your church or ministry team, alongside others with a similar mindset to focus on mission and spiritual and numerical growth in your context. Leading your Church into Growth (LyCIG) takes the form of open seminars with interactive talks, practical exercises, workshops and time for personal reflection to enable the learning to be applied to your context.  "I came away with such inspiration and writing on the booklet ‘it’s all about the people’. I reported back to the PCC that it is down to all of us, don’t leave it the vicar. Since then we have built such a community with us all mucking in making such a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere." As a mission and ministry team, we strongly believe that this conference can play a key part in the development of healthy, growing, mission focused churches and that is why we choose to heavily subsidise the places. The price we are charging is £120 per delegate for the weekend, instead of the actual cost of £248. We encourage you to bring a group of between 3 and 8 people, to best share the learning and be able to implement it in your context more effectively afterwards. If you love abstract art and texture then this workshop is for you! You will learn how to mix and blend from a variety of materials from natural stone to plastic beads, stained glass to broken china. What to expect You will be shown how to prepare the base, mix your own adhesive and combine your materials using a range of techniques to create interest and texture. Who is this for? Suitable for beginners, however, those with some mosaic experience are also welcome to join. Always wanted to have a go at mosaic making? This might be the class for you! What to expect A brief introduction and demonstration on mosaic making using the Direct Method. Included will be how to use tile nippers, how to create shapes and an explanation of various andamento styles and how to grout. Please note that grouting will not be done in this class however you will receive a grout bag to take home with full instructions (including a video for reference). Who is this for?
