MCT Fitness is a Wirral based company that is dedicated to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, through fitness classes, personal training and nutrition coaching. As sessions are only run by myself, I get to know my clients' strengths and weaknesses, therefore, I'm able to offer a high level of coaching to reach personal goals. The majority of MCT Fitness classes are conducted outside. Data suggests that outdoor fitness can help you stick with regular physical activity because of the feel-good factor. The oxygen boost you get from the fresh air gets the serotonin flowing. MCT Fitness caters for all fitness levels and sessions are as easy or as hard as you make them. You can burn anywhere between 500 to 800 calories depending on your body type and your effort level. I believe what you put into the session is exactly what you get out of the session! 1 - 1 personal training and nutrition coaching is carried out at the MCT Private PT Studio or online to suit your needs. My unique and compassionate style of coaching helps clients to build their competence and autonomy in what they are doing which leads to results! Training with MCT Fitness is a great way to meet new people and the sense of camaraderie will encourage you to keep going, even when your body is protesting. Meg Brettell Fitness

Hello there and thank you for stopping by my website. My name is Meg Brettell and I couldn’t be more excited about sharing my story and everything I know about health and fitness with you. Hopefully it will inspire and help you on your own fitness journey. Fitness has always been a part of my life. Both my parents were or had been in the fitness industry at some point and I grew up being a part of every sports team and club at school. Dancing was a large part of it and I went on to study professional stage dance at college after school. I had danced since I was 3 and It had always been my dream to be a dancer until I injured my back in my final year of tuition. So I taught dance and cheerleading to primary and secondary girls for a couple of years before it was back to the drawing board and with the love of health and fitness and wanting to help people,I went down the trainer path. I first done my exercise to music and my gym qualification then onto my Level 3 personal training certificate. In 2013 I was looking at bikini and fitness models and competitors online in America and said to my old man “I want to look like that!” And his response was “great, go do it.” Without any knowledge or experience in this field I set out to do my research. I started looking at shows, competitors, supplements, training, how to cut, how to bulk, stage tan, bikinis, shoes… the list was endless. I hadn’t thought about a coach before as didn’t know they existed then (now everyone and their gran seems to be one). My dad was a bodybuilder in his teens and early 20s so asked him for a little help. And by little he told me if I was looking okay or needed to be leaner. Very funny when I look back now.

I studied Art & Design at Stourbridge Art College in the West Midlands for three years, before moving to West Sussex to gain an Art with Related Arts degree at Chichester University. My sculpture work featured nationally on ITV’s morning programme. Exhibitions of my work include West Dean College and Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, West Sussex. I have also had the privilege of exhibiting my work in the Awagami International Miniature Print Exhibition, Tokushima, Japan. Along with exhibitions at; Banks Mill Studios Derby, The Art House Wakefield, neo: Gallery Bolton, Gallery@OXO Oxo Tower Wharf South Bank London, Greenpea press Huntville Alabama, Hong Kong Baptist University Hong Kong and Cube gallery Moscow. After a period focusing on other art disciplines, I returned to printmaking and the joy of the process is what pushes my work forward creatively. Learning different printing methods has helped me to begin experimenting with distinctive approaches to my prints and printing style. I continue to enjoy drawing and working painterly with a variety of mixed media, developing my own instinctive style over many other art disciplines. After gaining my degree I went on to achieve my teaching qualifications, to teach 16+ students. I then gained my Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills (QTLS) professional status, which enables me to teach through all age groups (pre and post 16). I have been teaching Art classes in the West Sussex area for 20 years, both for local Adult Education and Chichester College, along with my own private workshops. I enjoy, and have taught, a wide variety of Arts & Crafts subjects and have an extensive & practical knowledge of many areas of the arts. Currently, I teach subjects as varied as Life Drawing, Watercolour, iPad Painting, Acrylics, Pastels and Chinese Brush Painting. I have also taught Pottery, Weaving, Face Painting and numerous craft classes. I am always striving to learn and pass on new techniques and ideas to my students. I hold a Level 3 NVQ in British Sign Language and am currently studying for my Level 6 NVQ. I also teach in this subject.

After working as a Self-Employed Performing Arts Teacher and Pound Pro alongside my 9-5 job, I finally took the plunge to be fully Self-Employed in September 2018. I grew up enjoying Performing Arts; from the age of about 3 I took dance classes, and when I was 7, I joined Spotlight Performing Arts School as a pupil - I am now the Manager of the Saltburn School! From then on, I performed in as many community based shows as possible with Spotlight PA, and other groups too! This led me to study my Level 3 in Musical Theatre full-time at Middlesbrough College, and then my BA (Hons) Dance at Teesside University. I discovered my passion for teaching whilst at university - completing my work placement at Redcar Academy (now Outwood Academy, Redcar), where I also completed my teaching placement for my PGCE:TLLS. My love of teaching Fitness classes came after I finally found joy in Group Exercise! I had joined a gym whilst at university and didn't really enjoy it that much - but liked the results I was getting. Unfortunately this gym didn't offer much in the way of Group Exercise classes, which is what I found more motivation in, rather than just wandering around the gym floor between cardio/weights... My husband and I were then gifted a 14 day membership at another gym which offered far more, and we signed up for a full year's membership - where I discovered that I could fit the gym into my schedule and made myself accountable by booking into Group Ex classes to make sure I kept going!! Fast forward 2 years and I took my Pound Pro (Instructor) Training and planned to leave my full time job to pursue the Self Employed life. That's the very condensed version - for more snippets into my life you can follow me on my social medias! Susy x

Edinburgh,

Over the last 12 years, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed teaching Pilates to many people of all ages and abilities, and with varying muscle and joint problems, back issues and health conditions. I started my complementary healthcare training 19 years ago, qualifying in 2002 with a diploma from the London School of Sports Massage. I returned to my home city of Edinburgh that year, successfully building up a client base and running the complementary healthcare clinic Happy Being for 12 years in the west end, until 2020. Back in 2009, I decided to train as a Pilates teacher and qualified with a certificate in mat Pilates teaching Level 3 CYQ (Central YMCA Qualifications). This came from a desire to help my massage clients develop the tools to care for their own bodies rather than relying on regular massage treatments and doing their own exercises between sessions with varying results. The two disciplines successfully ran side by side, with many people coming to the clinic for both massage treatments and Pilates classes. In 2016 I developed my physiological and anatomical knowledge and practical skills further by achieving an advanced remedial massage diploma from the Scottish School of Sports Massage. I apply the knowledge I gained through this training to my Pilates teaching, drawing on a deeper understanding of the human body and how it works. I am constantly developing ideas, combining my vision with a structured modern approach. I’ve worked with many clients with varying levels of fitness and health conditions, from athletes to those with chronic fatigue syndrome CFS/ ME. I start with the 8 fundamental principles of the Pilates Method and the many Pilates movements to bring about new ideas. These are often from varying disciplines which I’ve studied and practised over the years such as Qigong, Tai Chi and even meditation with breath work. Many of the balance, warm-up stretches and cool-down movements in the classes are Qigong-based.

I would highly recommend Sheena to anyone looking for learning support. Vicky Austin‎ to One to Learn10 September 2017 · Thankyou sheena for getting Rebecca Evans through her gcse maths successfully. As you know, she struggled badly with the simplest concepts. Taking her back to basics and repeating tasks really worked for her. It’s nothing short of a miracle. Your help was priceless. X ‎Rebecca Turner‎ to One to Learn1 July 2016 · My son has becoming to Sheena for lessons in maths and literacy for over a year. He has ASD and ADHD and Sheena has been brilliant with him. She has helped to consolidate his core skills (which he had some big gaps in) and taught him lots of new skills! She is very patient and paces the lessons very well and manages my son’s ASD needs very well. Since Morgan started with you as her tutor her confidence and her ability has increased beyond belief. Not only has she gained confidence in her ability academically, she has gained confidence in herself. She has now finished her Hickey Multi-Sensory system, but is continuing with her tutoring as it has turned around her whole outlook on learning. We intend to keep her in your tuition to support her as she moves through to year 8 and on-wards. Thank you for all your help over the last 2 years to improve her percentile from 20 to 47 Great work! I would recommend (and have already recommended) your services to anyone who has need of extra educational support. Thank you again. (Joanna Jones 2016) Sheena McKay quickly put my autistic son at ease during the diagnostic tests that she did. Her teaching skills are outstanding – I would highly recommend her. (A Jones 21 July 2012) Sheena provides a safe, caring teaching environment that complements our childrens’ primary education that continues to exceed our expectations. ( J.G.2012) The best thing that ever happened for my daughter was me contacting Sheena (Mrs C. Morgan) We have been very pleased with your commitment and approach to Charlie’s education. The fact that I have never for one moment felt the need to question your teaching and ideas, speaks for itself, and it has been a period in Charlie’s life where we have been confident that he is getting the best opportunity and individual attention possible. Sue Edwards Teague. (July 2010) Luke has grown and developed, his speech and language has improved immensely and he is leaving his first year a very happy and confident 4 year old and we believe that you were very valuable to that. Mrs Steel (July 2010) You have been so supportive of both him and me in the past year. Mrs Parnell (July 2010) I’ve valued your support and wealth of knowledge and will continue to do so. Alison Arrowsmith (July 2010) I myself have always valued your expert knowledge and found you very supportive. Jenny Bygrave (July 2010) In the short time you have known Daisie you have had such a positive effect on her and I am so grateful to you for that. Emma Hingley (July 2010) As a parent of children with educational needs I would recommend Sheena Mckay as a fantastic, understanding and devoted teacher. My daughter loved being taught by her and looked forward to going to school every morning. Mrs Mckay was also very understanding and sympathetic of our son’s problems too. She was always there at the end of school to put time aside for any parent, no matter what the problem. Mrs Jan Phillips (Sept. 2010) Sheena teaches with ease, knowledge and, more importantly for a young boy whom is easily distracted, with humour and fun. (Mr N. L) As a parent of children with educational needs I would recommend Sheena Mckay as a fantastic, understanding and devoted teacher. My daughter loved being taught by her. (Mrs J. Phillips) Sheena has helped Cody improve his speech, which in this short period of time has come on in leaps and bounds. Most importantly Cody enjoys his time with Sheena and always comes away with a smile. (Shauni Owen)

AM Pilates London

My Pilates journey started after I was diagnosed with scoliosis (curvature of the spine) as a teenager and underwent several operations to fuse a large part of my spine with rods. I was introduced to Pilates by my Physio and it became part of my early rehab - which then developed into a love for Pilates in my adult life. Pilates, on the mat and using the apparatus, has had a huge impact on my physical and mental wellbeing. To such an extent that it led me to want to help others experience Positive Movement Every Day. I work with my clients, largely on a one to one basis, identifying their needs and developing a personal movement programme whether that be for rehab, athletic training or general well being. We use the suite of Pilates apparatus (reformer, tower, chair) as well as the mat and smaller equipment (eg spine corrector, blocks and balls). If you are hoping that Pilates will help with your pain management, I can provide information on how it has helped me over the years. I have true empathy with all chronic pain sufferers and my goal is, over time, to help you improve your quality of life. I have lived in and around South Woodford for most of my life and love that my job enables me to meet and help other local people. I am a mum to two children, plus our newest addition - a puppy. They all keep me very busy and active, something that would have been a daily struggle without Pilates in my life. MY TRAINING I completed my comprehensive (mat and apparatus) Pilates training with Polestar Pilates. I am a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher and a member of the Pilates Teachers Association. I have my Level 3 in Pre and Post Natal Training, which qualifies me to teach Pilates safely to mums at a time when their bodies and minds are experiencing great change, and I am trained to teach Pilates to children (I have an enhanced DBS). If you would like to learn more about how Pilates can help improve your wellbeing please do contact me by email or completing the contact form I look forward to hearing from you.

Learn Reiki Bristol

Bristol

ABOUT LEARN REIKI: Anna Rose has been teaching Reiki in Bristol since 2005, and has taught many hundreds of people on her unique transformational 12-week Reiki courses at St Paul’s Learning Centre in the heart of Bristol. For 7 years Anna taught these life-changing Reiki courses for Bristol Council’s Adult Learning Service, helping people on low incomes who faced physical, mental or emotional health challenges. Always described by students as a gifted and inspirational teacher, she gained a huge reputation in Bristol for her exceptional Reiki courses. When Council budget cuts forced the closure of local community classes, Anna’s students begged her to go on teaching so they could finish their courses. She agreed, and LEARN REIKI was born, as Anna continued to teach her Reiki courses at St Paul’s Learning Centre. Anna’s courses were usually oversubscribed by word of mouth recommendation, as people travelled from all over the city and further to join. Friends and family noticed the life affirming changes in our students, and hearing the secret of their transformation naturally wanted to learn this amazing skill for themselves. Anna’s policy is never to turn away anyone who wants to learn Reiki, because she knows people are only brought to Reiki when the time is right. So she had to run additional classes each term to meet the demand. In 2018 she decided the answer was to train other people to teach her transformational Reiki courses, so she began training Reiki Masters in the Anna Rose Reiki School. Today we have a thriving Reiki School with professional experienced teachers trained by Anna to teach her Reiki Level 1 & 2 courses just as she teaches them, using exactly the same techniques, resources and materials. All our teachers have spent over 2 years training to teach Anna’s unique 12-week Reiki programs, and learnt Reiki with us as students themselves. Now Anna personally trains our most advanced Level 3 students on the 1-year Reiki Master Chakra Course, supervises the training and development of our excellent teachers, and runs the Reiki School. Her passionate love of Reiki and dedication to transforming lives is evident in all our courses, and carried on today by the passion and dedication of our teachers.
