I always knew I could do it but Kathryn helped me take control.

Worcester

Fi grew up in London and throughout her childhood was always either making things, drawing or painting. She did her foundation course in London and then chose to leave the city and take her degree in Fine art Painting in the beautiful city of Bath. After spending a couple of years, based in a studio group in Bristol, making her own work, she decided to move back to London and shortly thereafter she did a PGCE and began her teaching career. After having her son, and due to work commitments, Fi and her family moved to Worcester and this is where she began honing her skills as a jeweller. She is now a jewellery designer and painter, offering unique, handmade jewellery pieces which are mostly made in silver, incorporating semi precious stones and accents of gold. Jewellery commissions are regularly undertaken and include recycling of old jewellery pieces to make new. Her jewellery is inspired by the style of ancient and archaeological pieces and natural forms and aspire to having a very handmade, and 'just dug up' look. Most of the work has been hand forged but more recently Fi has employed the lost wax casting process and now also runs workshops. Vibrant colour plays a large part in both her painting, prints and jewellery. Having trained in Fine Art, she uses the studio to paint in and undertakes portrait commissions. Having a portrait painted of a loved one can be an excellent way to mark a special birthday or occasion. As with possible jewellery commissions she would be more than happy to discuss requirements and options. There are a selection of workshops which can be booked in her studio, based on jewellery making and painting. Workshops can be a fantastic way to learn a new skill or done as a group can be a wonderful experience.

Whether it was singing karaoke, listening to audiobooks, or devising a radio station in his bedroom, Mark has always appreciated the power of the human voice. His love for radio started at a local level, in the glory-days of personality-based breakfast radio. That love affair was sparked at his city’s famous BRMB, but a succession of cost-cutting measures, takeovers, and technological advances would slowly snuff out that candle. Episode one Mark studied Media & Communication at Birmingham City University, specialising in Internet radio. He graduated the year the term “podcasting” was coined, but it would be a further four years before he’d pluck up the courage to pick up a mic and plug it into the Internet. But in 2008, the podcast bug finally bit, and Mark started what would be a 14+ year career helping people make podcasts, first in exchange for beer, and then for money. The little company with the robot fist for a logo In 2016 Mark founded the media hosting company Podiant, which took him to the British Podcast Awards, and saw him present at International Podcast Day in 2020. The product served millions of listeners across thousands of podcasts, and in 2021 Mark sold Podiant so he could focus on working more closely with individuals and small teams, to set them up for podcasting success from day one. From the ear to the brain to the heart Mark founded Origin in 2021 to help impact entrepreneurs build trust with their audiences, and catalyse change. He does this through a combination of consulting, training, coaching, and production. It centres around driving messages from the ear to the brain, where – through consistency and authenticity – they eventually land in listeners’ hearts.

TISKA Karate Lincoln

About the chief instructor Gursharan Sahota was born in Kenya, East Africa but moved to the UK at the age of 12. He took up Karate at the age of 14 in the local Bedford club and was awarded black belt 1st dan (shodan) four years later. Now an 8th Dan, Gursharan has competed in a multitude of kata and kumite events, many at national and international level. But the most significant event in his career was the visit he made in 1984 to Japan. There, he fulfilled a great ambition by training in a Japanese dojo under the instruction of Sensei Hirokazu Kanazawa. This experience proved to be a turning point for Gursharan. On his return to England, he realised the trip had been the inspiration he needed to dedicate his future to training and teaching karate as a way of life. Gursharan’s first club was opened in Luton/Dunstable in 1981 and this is now the association’s hombu (HQ). Having been a teacher of the art for many years, he formed his own association in 1993 – TISKA (The Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association) which is now one of the biggest associations in the UK. Gursharan’s love of karate has never diminished. He still teaches over 35 classes a week in the UK and regularly takes master classes internationally. All in all, he has brought hundreds of students of all ages up to black belt standard and beyond. He is also involved in charity work, helping to subsidise trips for surgeons to third world countries to operate on underprivileged children. He has, for many years, funded many projects in India, and is at present helping to fund the building of a new school.

Rachel Harriet Coaching

I pride myself on professionalism and diligence in all that I do. In the last 7 years, altering my mindset has totally changed all aspects of my life for the better. With a background in the corporate tech sector, I had always worked in a very male dominated environment. I was really ambitious, and keen to get ahead at work, but often felt I struggled to be taken seriously. I battled with feeling frustrated - because I knew I had so much to add, but daren't speak up. I feared everyone's eyes turning to me, and the pressure would feel unbearable. This knocked my confidence and I realised I needed to do something about it, to take control back of my own destiny. At this point I discovered lots of different podcasts that really helped to shift my perspectives, and through this found the coach I worked with for the first time which was a total game changer for me. I gradually grew in confidence and began to recognise the value I brought to the table. This helped me to articulate myself a lot better, and I worked on improving my communication skills which enabled me to finally progress in the organisation I worked for at the time. I reached a certain point in my career where I realised I owed so much to my personal transformation. I discovered that my passion was now reaching other women and supporting them to unlock their inevitable potential! Life's too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. There have been so many steps that I nearly didn't take through fear, self-doubt and feelings of unworthiness. Trust me when I say, it truly is doing the thing that scares you most that opens the most valuable doors.

Running PMO with Competence

running pmo with competence

About Us Background Running PMO with Competence is a project / programme management office training, coaching and professional development specialist company. Over the years, our PMO expertise has been secured on multi-million pound, multi-disciplinary Business and IT transformation initiatives in the UK to: Build the business case for PMO, champion its benefits to project delivery and secure buy-in from stakeholders. Set up and run PMO to increase project delivery success and implement standard project management practices. Recruit and manage high performing teams. Develop, train, upskill, coach and mentor PMO professionals at all stages and levels of their career. We have laid the foundation for and established successful PMO functions within many corporate organisations. We have leveraged our expertise, tacit knowledge and know-how to build high quality masterclasses and programmes for PMO professionals. The Demand for PMO Expertise The demand for PMO expertise is on the rise across industry sectors globally. Highly skilled PMO professionals such as Analysts, Managers and Leads are in short supply. Findings from our client survey reveals that: PMO is sometimes seen as an administrative function and is often resourced with inadequately trained staff. In-house PMO staff with project management qualifications, often struggle to apply knowledge obtained from courses to a live project environment. Interim PMO staff are often hired to augment in-house PMO resource on business critical projects. Once the project is complete and interim staff depart, lack of knowledge transfer means that the previously bridged skill gap resurfaces. Our Goal Our goal is to focus our expertise on delivering high quality training, coaching and professional development programmes with a view to contribute to bridging the gap in highly skilled PMO professionals worldwide.
