John is a skilled educator. He is a qualified teacher, specialising in physical education. John is also a higher education lecturer, teaching leadership and coaching and mentoring practise at Manchester Metropolitan University and elite coaching practise at Sheffield Hallam University to sports professionals and coaches. John has also educated internationally having worked in the USA, Asia, Africa and South America. John is an accomplished and experienced executive coach/mentor. John has a master’s degree in coaching and mentoring, accredited globally by the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) at senior practitioner level. John coaches/mentors numerous individual and team clients within corporate and elite sports performance settings. Current and recent clients include, The Football Association, the Brazilian National Football Federation (CBF), Malawi Football Association, Denmark Football Association, Thailand Football Association Technical Director and MK Dons, Sporting Director. “Excellent. Being a level 4 qualified coach, John has coached The FA England Partially Sighted National Football Squad to a world ranking of third. John has also coached elite children between the ages of 8 and 18 within boys, girls and disability performance environments within the UK. In addition, John has coached and mentored children and adults within grassroots clubs both in the UK and USA. Further supporting John’s executive coaching and mentoring is his experience as a strategist and business leader. John is a successful business owner, having established his growing consultancy, Summitpeople Ltd. John has been a CEO for an award-winning County Football Association and Regional Manager and National Manager for the Football Association. LD Training provides access education qualification opportunities within a flexible delivery model that enables students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their professional goals, improve the productivity of their organisations and provide leadership and service to their communities, as stated within the mission of the organisation. Over the past 12 years, LD Training has successfully delivered over 12000 qualifications, across various sectors including; business; management; health and social care; early years; education; hospitality; retail; construction and functional skills, from Entry level through to Level 5 and specialises in providing education to hard to reach communities. Having become a well-established organisation in the Government funded training sector, LD Training diversified into tertiary education in 2019 in order to strengthen its portfolio and to provide ongoing career progression opportunities for our alumni. In this regard, LDT secured a collaborative partnership agreement with Leeds Trinity University to offer a BA (Hons) Business and Management with a Foundation Year in Business from September 2019 at our campuses in London (Stanmore), Dudley and Nottingham. Following the successful delivery of our Leeds Trinity Partnership, we were successful in our approach to the University of Suffolk for a second collaborative partnership in order to provide our students with a greater choice of education pathway utilising a Foundation Year. LD Training (LDT) firmly believe in lifelong learning, and that everyone should have the opportunity to further their education, chase their dreams and be given a supportive and accommodating environment in which to flourish. As such we believe offering the opportunity to access higher education via a student focused and flexible delivery method to our students and the wider community provides the opportunity of continued education to all, no matter of their background. Stoke Kung Fu and Kickboxing was established 40 years ago under the guidance of Henry Chung. He taught Lau Gar Kung Fu, which was derived from the form of Martial Arts practised at the temples situated in West China. The style subsequently became very popular in Great Britain. He was closely followed by George Shore who was the Chief Instructor until he passed the mantle onto Bob Parkinson who is the present day Chief Instructor. George Shore George Shore was a phenomenal martial artist who built a reputation for the Stoke Club. He was a dedicated and fearless individual who expected the highest standard from all of his students. He produced many world champions and world class instructors and had an elite fighting team who dominated Great Britain throughout the 80’s and 90’s. Bob Parkinson -‘Piston Legs’ When George Shore retired from Stoke he knew that the club would continue to thrive and that the highest standards would be maintained under the leadership of Bob Parkinson. Bob brings out the very best in his students; skilfully combining ultimate respect for the ethos of martial arts, within a very friendly and welcoming, all-inclusive club. His passion, dedication and ability continues to inspire and encourage students to reach their full potential. The club has been built on its reputation of having instructors who have all been coached and developed by the Chief Instructor. All are black sash in Kung Fu and black belt in Kickboxing and are of an exceptional standard.

Services for schools The Government’s expectation is that schools and colleges will work towards the Gatsby benchmarks. There are 8 benchmarks which constitute ‘good practice’ in career guidance for schools and colleges, they are: A stable careers programme Learning from career and labour market information Addressing the needs of each student Linking curriculum learning to careers Encounters with employers and employees Experiences of workplaces Encounters with further and higher education Personal guidance. Harrow College is now offering a range of new services to local schools for students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. The College offer can be linked to the Gatsby Benchmarks as well as support the school to meet their commitment to the Technical and Further Education Bill's amendment passed in the House of Lords in February 2017 by Lord Baker. We provide support to learners to progress from schools onto further education and apprenticeships. We encourage awareness of the many career opportunities available to young people and the vocational or academic qualification route they may need to take to succeed in their chosen career. College staff can assist and work with schools to: • Provide vocational advice and guidance • Collaborate during Careers Events and Parents’ Evenings • Arrange visits to college for individual learners and/or groups • Organise workshops at the College or in your school for specific subject areas allowing students to get ‘hands on’ experience. Parents Evening and Careers fair - Our staff can attend Parents Evenings, Careers Fairs and Year 11 options evenings in your school, to offer advice and guidance to learners, their parents and guardians. Tour for learners and teachers - Our staff are on hand to offer bespoke tours of the College to your staff, learners and their parents. This often helps learners to get a feel for how studying in a college might be like and we will help you advise your learners appropriately. Taster days - We hold taster days throughout the year to engage learners. Taster days can be a half or full day depending on your school timetable and requirements, and most subject areas are available. Presentation and talks – Our industry experienced staff can come into your school and deliver informative presentations to teachers, learners and their parents/ guardians. We understand time can be an issue so we can also deliver presentations at a time and place that suits you. CPD for teachers - Throughout the year our staff host a range of events for teachers and careers advisers. These events are a great opportunity to visit the College, view facilities and hear from vocational teaching teams on the options available to young people.
