Welcome to the Path of Yoga family! Path of Yoga teacher training school was founded in 2017 by James French and Rory Trollen – experienced yogis, teacher-trainers and good friends. Between them they have taught dozens of trainings all over the world. Since then, Path of Yoga has evolved to become one of the best yoga teacher training schools in the world, helping to educate and nurture a huge number of YTT students. Our teacher training graduates have gone on to teach in their own communities, start businesses, and run retreats. Although we have grown to offer several yoga teacher trainings each year, we have never lost our small family vibe which is at the heart and centre of everything we do. As we are always striving for the highest quality, all of our 200 hour and 300 hour YTT courses are Yoga Alliance certified. This means you will be eligible to become a Yoga Alliance certified teacher, enabling you to teach world-wide. Live Yoga Teacher Training Programs Whilst our roots started in the UK, we now offer yoga teacher trainings in Thailand, India, and Peru. This gives you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in a month of yoga, experience a different culture, and be grounded by a supportive group of teachers and peers on the same path. Upon successful completion of our yoga teacher training program, you will gain your well earned 200 hour or 300 hour RYT certification. During the course, you will stay in bespoke accommodation with modern comforts and have three delicious vegan meals each day. The Missionaries of the Poor are always seeking men who wish to answer Our Lord’s invitation to serve the poor. Members of the Missionaries of the Poor take four vows: (1) poverty, (2) chastity, (3) obedience and (4) free service to the least. To learn more about the life of the order, simply contact us. M.O.P. FORMATION As you begin the journey of discerning your vocation, be assured that you are not left to yourself. The Missionaries of the Poor provides a comprehensive formation program that includes the opportunity to experience the life of brotherhood, a rigorous theological and spiritual training program and years of hands-on experience in our work. This formation consists of five stages: 1. Aspirancy (6 months to 1 year): New vocations begin with one year of introduction to the life and work of the Missionaries of the Poor. This period of formation takes place at the MOP mission in your home country. The goal of this period is simply to assist you in discerning whether God is calling you to serve Him with us. 2. Postulancy (6 months): Formation continues as you continue to test your vocation to religious life. If you grow in your conviction that the religious life is in fact God’s will for you, postulancy ends and you remove to the Institute’s headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica to continue formation. 3. Novitiate (2 years): The first year (canonical) of the Novitiate emphasizes prayer and contemplation and includes a 40 day retreat. The second year (apostolical) emphasizes the work or apostolate of the Missionaries of the Poor. 4. Juniorate (6 years): At the end of the Novitiate, temporary vows of six years is made. During these three years, brothers in formation continue to grow in the knowledge of the mission and works of the Institute. 5. V.I.P.A is not a static system as is Karate, Kung Fu or Judo for example. By static I mean something that has not changed over a period of time, something that has not kept up with modern threats and combat found in today's modern world. If the Instructor is not teaching a street application then they are teaching a 'Do' a 'Way' to reach inner harmony, a way to overcome yourself and become a better person, a form of meditation. This in itself is a noble endeavour and for those looking for that path then these martial arts a fantastic path to tread. As a combat system V.I.P.A is also a 'Way' but it is a way for warriors not martial artists, it is also not the only 'Way' it is only one path with ideas, philosophies, treaties, strategies, tactics and techniques gained over 40 years of combatives study. Having said that, it is a highly effective method of combat. V.I.P.A embraces change, evolvement and open mindedness. From its conception in 1988 V.I.P.A has evolved and continues to evolve as threats and evironments change. From the streets of Northern Ireland to training for possible combat against Russian Spetsnaz Special Forces to the 1991 Gulf War and beyond, V.I.P.A has adapted to its environment and continues to do so with civilian, police and close protection applications. V.I.P.A is in reality a sphere of influence and at its centre are the Core Concepts, the vital skills that are required of any means of combat. There is nothing new in the skills of the Core Concepts, many people practice them as part of a whole system of combat or as part of their own cross training program. The Core Concepts are only a means to an end. The means are the strategies, tactics and techniques themselves. The end, well that has many forms, is it to win in your next street encounter, not to get into any encounters at all, to protect your family, safely detain a suspect or win and live on the battlefield and in harmony after the battle is over. The only real end result is what you as an individual are training for.

Tutor Matching Service (TMS) was created to promote student success with the core mission of increasing access to one-on-one education in higher education. Since our founding in 2008, we have expanded our purpose to now be able to curate the best technology options for learning centers, tutors, and students, helping to enhance the tutoring experience, in-person and online. We are established partners in the learning center community, partnering with over 200 colleges and universities, as well as being long-time members of the National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA) and the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). TMS’s Web-Based Tutor List CONNECTING STUDENTS TO TUTORS, OR “THE BEGINNING” TMS was originally piloted and financially sponsored by a handful of university tutoring centers (learning centers), career centers, and student governments including IUPUI (an Indiana University campus), Caltech, and NYU-Polytechnic (now NYU Tandon). At many colleges and universities across the country there are gaps in the free tutoring services available to students. This can be due to limited space or hours and tight budgets. Often there aren’t tutors available for students in upper level courses in departments such as physics, chemistry, engineering, finance, and foreign languages. Tutor Matching Service helps solve these problems by providing a safe, simple environment for connecting students in-person and online with private tutors across a wide variety of subjects. Also, colleges and universities often get frequent phone calls from parents of high school students looking for high quality, inexpensive peer tutors for their children. Parents want to find tutors for a variety of situations, from the student who is having difficulty passing algebra, to the AP student who needs a tutor and role model. Local brick and mortar tutoring companies charge $65-$95/hr, which is not affordable for the majority of families. By using TMS, learning centers can support their local community by allowing their certified tutors to tutor privately in a safe and secure way. Tutor Essentials ENHANCING TUTOR’S SKILLS, OR “NEXT STEPS” After increasing access to tutoring for students across the country, TMS recognized a need for a simple yet effective tutor training program that could be provided to their school partners. TMS partnered with Purdue University to develop Tutor Essentials, which is being used by learning centers across the country to enhance their tutor training program. It is a College Reading and Learning Center endorsed, self-paced, and the only complete online tutor training course that counts for 4 hours of CRLA Level 1 ITTPC Certification. GoBoard ONLINE TUTORING FOR EVERYONE, OR “WHERE WE WENT NEXT” After many years of connecting students and tutors for online tutoring sessions, TMS decided to develop their own online platform that met the growing demand for an exceptional online tutoring experience. GoBoard is a first-in-its-class online tutoring platform that combines video conferencing, an interactive canvas, and educational tools like a graphing calculator to create a highly engaging online tutoring session. It even tracks the hours for reporting purposes and records all sessions in a secure administrative panel. It has been thoroughly tested by over 60+ learning centers and is for higher education learning centers to utilize in their day to day operations. Study Edge WHEN STUDENTS NEED A LITTLE MORE HELP, OR “WHERE WE ARE GOING” While there are hundreds of excellent tutors available on TMS, students often need additional academic support to access on their own outside of the classroom or tutoring session. To fill in this gap in support, Tutor Matching Service is excited to introduce a new resource to learning centers- Study Edge. Study Edge is the best option out there for 24/7 academic support in historically challenging courses. Study Edge provides engaging, to-the-point video content, practice problems, quizzes, and helpful PDF study guides for college courses, all delivered through easy-to-use web and mobile apps. Study Edge resources are highly effective at supporting students with often challenging material. The content is aligned with the most commonly used textbooks, including OpenStax. Study Edge can be used by learning centers as an extra resource for their tutors, in conjunction with, or as a digital substitute, for Supplemental Instruction (SI), or just as an additional support for their students.
