A single day knife making course is a great way to make yourself an item that will last a lifetime, on this one day course we forge a small knife with a simple ash handle. A knife is one of the oldest tools ever made by humanity and it is one that invokes many emotions to people when they see and use it for a productive task. When doing a knife making course here at Bearded Pig Forge we will discuss the fine details of a knife and how they are made as well as the history of forging them.  On the course you will learn the basics of forging a blade and heat treating them in order to get the best results from the high carbon steel, we will also be learning how to fit and shape handles by using a burn through technique to attach the blade to the handle. Courses are £165 Per person per day.  I run a strict cancellation policy. If you cannot attend the date you have booked please contact me within three weeks and I will rebook your course for free, If you contact me after this deadline you will lose your place. Barts Health NHS Trust will be running its inaugural Level 4 Children Safeguarding training day at the Education Academy of the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, London on the 10th October 2025. The course is aimed at Named Professionals in Children’s Safeguarding who are already established in role but need to keep their learning up to date at level 4 in line with the Safeguarding Children and Young People: Roles and Competencies for Healthcare Staff (Intercollegiate Document). The course will be a mixture of presentations from expert speakers, which will cover a number of hot topics in children’s safeguarding and a series of workshops which be facilitated by experts but where the emphasis will be on shared learning from the expertise all participants will bring to the course.

Description Our Ear Care training course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills required to safely assess the need for and perform ear irrigation using specialised ear irrigation devices. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT COVER MICROSUCTION ON THIS COURSE. This training covers how to perform this procedure in a variety of settings, including general practice, community care, emergency, residential care and pharmacy. It is healthcare professionals already working in a healthcare setting with appropriate supervision and support - including both those with no prior knowledge of aural care or those who need an update in their skills and knowledge base.
