Join Helen of Evendawn Arts for this wonderful watercolour painting workshop. Create two beautiful Christmas cards. Festive Robin and sweet donkey. The workshop is aimed at all levels of watercolour experience from complete beginners. ( age 14 upwards ) The images will be drawn out for you on suitable watercolour paper, so there’s no need to worry about being able to “draw”. There’ll be some warm up exercises to begin, for you to get used to the paints, brushes, paper etc and that point you’ll mix your colours ready to paint your cards. Helen will explain everything throughout, including different techniques and ways to work with the paint, such as applying masking fluid and how to create a great background effect. please bring something to carry your lovely cards home - a tray or box would be suitable.

A 3 class course covering everything to make a beautiful landscape painting.

Taking our inspiration from everyday objects, (cups, bowls etc) collections  of natural forms (shells, feathers, leaves) or other types of personal memorabilia as a starting point for developing themes we will create our own layered, collage and stitch ‘Still Life’ or ‘Landscape/Nature Study’

The Dance of Earth and Venus results in one of the most beautiful and breathtaking rhythms and patterns of the solar system. Every eight Earth years (13 Venus years) they dance a pentagonal form in space akin to the pip-star inside your apple or the petals of a primrose flower! During this course we will learn how to draw this incredible pattern using the traditional tools of compass and straight-edge; we will explore the key aspects of Earth and Venus' cycles that determine such extraordinary heavenly harmony. And time allowing ... with copper leaf and watercolour paint made from malachite and azurite - which in the Hermetic/Alchemical tradition have forever been associated with the planet Venus - we will create stunning mandalas embodying the Earth/Venus dance ... Pen and Watercolour Buildings Portrait Workshop What a treat of a workshop, to create a beautiful portrayal of a meaningful building. Using pen and watercolour, you will have the opportunity to bring to life a building – whether that be your home, your childhood home, your favourite coffee shop, or even your garden shed! Your super talented tutor will guide you through the basics of perspective to get the drawing just right, before introducing watercolour to complete your personal representation of your building. All you need to bring with you is a clear photograph of your chosen building, preferably printed out (working from an image from a tablet or iPad is ok, but a phone would be too small). This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, even those who believe they can’t draw. Your day will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm, with a pause for a ploughman-style lunch. Your lunch and the materials to create your portrait will be provided. So, what building will you choose? And will the masterpiece be for keeps or for gifting?
