Our intensive 10, 15 or 20 day Total Air Conditioning and Refrigeration training courses have been structured to meet the ever increasing demands on industry to meet safety, environmental and legal requirements regarding installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of both refrigeration and air conditioning systems including the electrical aspects of installation dependent upon course selection. The first 10 days of the Total Air Conditioning and Refrigeration training course are mechanical only, the following 5 or 10 days are the electrical aspects, depending on which route you need to go down. The Total Air Conditioning and Refrigeration training courses are accredited with the City & Guilds 2079, BESA Pipework and Brazing – (commercial), along with an EAL Unit* – Maintenance of Refrigeration Systems from the EAL Certificate in Engineering Technology (QCF) qualification. (*Practical elements will be covered during the course with a Project booklet to be completed by the student with an element of self-study after the course completion for us to claim the Unit certification from EAL). Our Total Air Conditioning and Refrigeration training courses are designed to be as practical as they possibly can be, with workshop time taking more than 70% of the course. During the Total Air Conditioning and Refrigeration training course, you will, install, repair, fault find, adapt and commission on a variety of different equipment, because we believe the way to learn is to do it!! This accredited Two-Day First-Aid at Work Course is designed for those who currently hold a First-Aid Qualification that is due to expire and meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. The Certificate is valid for 3 years and will expire from the date on the certificate. Our Children’s First Aid courses cover a wide range of topics, including CPR for Infants and Children, Choking Prevention and Intervention, Wound Care, and recognising signs of common childhood illnesses and conditions. Our experienced Instructors provide hands-on training during the Children’s First Aid Courses using child-sized mannequins and other equipment specifically designed for Paediatric First-Aid training. This ensures that our trainees are well-prepared to handle real-life emergencies involving children.

At Clay With Carole we offer group classes for all ages and abilities in hand building in clay. During this thorough and enjoyable 6-week evening course you will learn how to prepare your clay, and the main methods of hand building. You will be introduced to a variety of decorating techniques, ceramic materials and glazing. Each week you will make your original pieces using a different technique of hand building and through the duration of the course you can experiment with decorating techniques, application of ceramic materials, and a range of glazes.

The Central Heating Controls Wiring and Fault Finding course is a two day-day short course aimed at anyone involved in the construction, commissioning, inspection & testing or maintenance of central heating electrical control systems. The Central Heating Controls Wiring and Fault Finding course covers all the commonly used control systems in use today and is focused on the ‘practical’ construction and commissioning along with the relevant fault finding techniques. The Central Heating Controls Wiring and Fault Finding course requires an understanding of electrical principles and cable termination skills. A requirement of this course is the successful completion of their Essential Electrics examination prior to sitting the central heating controls wiring & fault finding examinations. Please ring if clarification is needed on this point. There are two 20 minute open book examinations and the associated practical assessments. A third examination and associated assessment will be required for candidates not holding the Essential Electrics unit. The Central Heating Controls Wiring and Fault Finding course comprises of: Short theory sessions introducing the conventional wiring systems, ‘Y’ Plan, ‘S’ Plan, ‘C’ Plan, Etc. Detailed practical workshop sessions, undertaking the construction, testing and commissioning of systems Fault finding and maintenance tasks performed on working systems Examination and practical assessment preparation ready for the assessments Evaluation of the system control function (why and how it works) Each student will work on their own system, and will have plenty of time to absorb and understand how each systemworks. Advise will be given on suitable ‘tooling’ and test equipment. These are nationally recognizable qualifications which are fast becoming an essential requirement for this type of work. The course costs include comprehensive course notes and examination entry fees.

One day ILS Course. The ILS course is designed for healthcare professionals who would be expected to apply the skills taught as part of their clinical duties.

The City and Guilds 2391-50 electrical course has been designed to meet the needs of the electrical installation industry, and is aimed at practising electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training before going on to other City and Guilds qualifications. Candidates who achieve the City and Guilds 2391-50 qualification could progress on to the City and Guilds 2391-51: the Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations. The City and Guilds 2391-50 course will focus on the teaching and learning of initial verification and certification of electrical installations. In order to claim the full City and Guilds 2391-50 qualification, students must successfully complete: One 1 hour 30 minute online multiple choice test to be completed during the courseOne 3 hour 30 minute practical test to be completed after the course, broken into two sections as follows:Task A – Initial Verification and Certification of the Complete Installation – 2hrs and 30minsTask B – Short Answer Questions – 1hr To further support this course, we offer a 1 day practical workshop (at the cost of £120.00 Net VAT) available to candidates who have completed the course and require further ‘hands on’ practical experience prior to their practical exam. Most students who take this option elect to complete this the day before their practical assessment. The City and Guilds 2391-50 course costs include examination entry fees.

City and Guilds 2391-51, level 3, is ideal for people with limited experience of periodic inspection of electrical installations. If you are already working as an Electrician, but have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying, or you require to update before moving onto other qualifications, then this 5 day City and Guilds 2391-51 course will be right for you. City and Guilds 2391-51 Course Content: Principles, practices and legislation for the periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of electrical installations. Requirements for completing the safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations Requirements for inspecting, testing and recording the condition of electrical installations Requirements for completing the periodic inspection of electrical installations Differences between periodic inspection and initial verification Requirements for safe testing of electrical installations which have been put in to service Requirements for testing before circuits are live. Requirements for testing live installations Understanding and interpreting test results Requirements for the completion of electrical installation condition reports and associated documentation Confirmation of safety of system and equipment prior to completion of inspection, testing and commissioning Carrying out inspection of electrical installations prior to them being put into service Ability to test electrical installations prior to them being put into service Produce a condition report with recording observations and classification In order to claim the full City and Guilds 2391-51 qualification, students must successfully complete: One x1 hour 30 minute online multiple choice (Open Book) Exam to be completed during the course One x3 hours 30 minute practical test to be completed after the course, broken into sections as follows: Task A – Visual Inspection – 30mins Task B – Periodic Inspection and Test – 2hrs Task C – Short Answer Questions – 1hr To further support this course, we offer a 1 day practical workshop (at the cost of £120.00 Net VAT) available to candidates who have completed the course and require further ‘hands on’ practical experience prior to their practical exam.
