A Warm Welcome to Ludo Tutors Founded in 2017 by Martha, a Dyslexic and Dyspraxia graduate from Cambridge University (Education with English and Drama, BA MA Cantab), Ludo Tutors was created to provide students with a holistic, well-rounded education and excellent quality Tutors. We have over 150 Tutors on our books and tutor everything from Academic subjects (such as 11+ Exams, Key Stage Three Science, GCSEs and A Levels) through to LAMDA Drama, Shakespeare and Public Speaking Exams). What are 11+ / Entrance Exams? 11+ Exams, sometimes called 'Entrance Exams', are examinations that many UK private schools. The rare usually competitive and a bit daunting! Don't panic, though - we're here to help!  How do I take Entrance Exams? Different schools have different application procedures, timelines and expectations. Some will belong to a body of schools using the same examination papers, whereas others will set their own, independent exams. Many also charge an administration fee. We do not advise parents on the applications themselves, but we have garnered a depth of knowledge about 11+ Exams that enable our Tutors to workeffikiently and effectively, whilst still keeping their students engaged and in good spirits. Who are your Tutors? Over half of our Tutors studied at either Oxford or Cambridge University and many hold PGCEs or TEFL/CELTA qualifications. All Tutors are Enhanced DBS checked. We interview each Tutor personally, to get to know them and to find our students the best match. What 11+ experience do you have? Our Founder, Martha, has extensive experience preparing students for the UK's top independent school exams, with many of her students achieving their first choice school, if not also a scholarship - lovely! This work is now carried out by our experienced and friendly tutors, with input from Martha if, as and when they may need extra support.

This workshop focuses on how to make '5S' meaningful to people, and how to link it with company goals. “5S, that’s just all about keeping things organized and tidy, isn’t it? Or maybe you have heard someone say: “Why make a big deal out of cleaning up?” But 5S is not really about the aesthetics of the work place, or even about the efficiency gains you will achieve (typically, 10% to 30% can be easily achieved). The real benefit of 5S is the introduction of standardised operational practices to ensure efficient, ergonomic, repeatable, safe ways of working. This brings many benefits: higher quality, lower costs, reliable deliveries, increased morale, and improved safety … to name but a few. It will also result in a highly visual workplace which contributes to achieving one of the most important results of 5S : making problems immediately obvious. 5S works by helping the team eliminate the seven wastes of lean manufacturing: Waste in Transport, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Over-processing, Overproduction, and Defects.It is therefore one of the most powerful Lean Tools, and provides a stable foundation upon which to build all of your other improvement programs, Lean Tools and Practices. It is also one of the simplest to implement, and can be applied within your manufacturing environment, office processes or even within a service industry. 5S is a team approach and requires the participation of everyone within the area in which it is applied to be effective. Structure of the Course This one day course will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the 5S Process and how you can implement it to your organization. It's approach is based on the experienced gained by implementing '5S' in many organizations. It focuses on highlighting what makes '5S' programmes fail, how to engage your personnel in defining and deploying your '5S' strategy, and how to sustain it over time. This workshop looks at '5S' as an integral part of your day to day operational management system, rather than an activity to be managed as a stand alone project. Introduction: “Co-ordinating the temporary works process” This two day course is designed to assist those on site who have responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works. It is also designed to give confidence to senior management and those who engage contractors have reached an assessed standard of knowledge. The course has the support of a number of organisations: Temporary Works Forum CECA, UKCG, HSE and FMB. The support of these organisations offers transferability of the course within industry.Temporary works are usually safety and business-critical and require careful co-ordination. An accepted way of achieving this is through the adoption of the management process outlined in BS5975, which introduces the temporary works co-ordinator (TWC) as a key figure. This course explains the role and the overall management context within which it sits.High risk can occur on small as well as larger sites hence understanding the essentials of good safety risk management, as outlined in BS5975, is relevant for projects of all sizes. This course will give the delegate thorough knowledge of the Temporary Works Co-ordinator role however this does not alone make a delegate competent, as this requires other attributes e.g. experience. Aims and Objectives: This course is not a temporary works awareness course. It is only concerned with the process of co-ordination of temporary works, commonly expressed through the role of the Temporary Works Co-ordinator. Attendance does not confer competency as a Temporary Works Co-ordinator.The course gives emphasis, throughout, to: – The importance of communication, co-ordination, co-operation and competency. The ‘4Cs’. – Risk management: safety and also business relatedAllowing the Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC) to: – Understand the need for and duties of a TWC – Understand the role of others – Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of BS5975 in respect of this role. Competence comes from a mixture of education, training and experience and should be judged by an appropriate senior individual, usually referred to as the Designated Individual (DI). Training is considered an essential element of Temporary Works Co-ordinator competence. Background Publications: This course, including its group work and exercises, is constructed around BS5975:2008 +A1:2011. For Open Courses Delegates should bring a copy with them in order not to be significantly disadvantaged. For in house courses it is expected that the Tutor will tailor the course around the organisation procedures,providing they are comprehensive and follow the philosophy of BS5975. In these cases delegates will need a copy of their own procedures. In the absence of adequate procedures delegates will need a copy of the BS itself.Although the following is not mandatory, delegates may find the following useful– BS EN12811-1:20031 Temporary works equipment.
