The Central Heating Controls Wiring and Fault Finding course is a two day-day short course aimed at anyone involved in the construction, commissioning, inspection & testing or maintenance of central heating electrical control systems. The Central Heating Controls Wiring and Fault Finding course covers all the commonly used control systems in use today and is focused on the ‘practical’ construction and commissioning along with the relevant fault finding techniques. The Central Heating Controls Wiring and Fault Finding course requires an understanding of electrical principles and cable termination skills. A requirement of this course is the successful completion of their Essential Electrics examination prior to sitting the central heating controls wiring & fault finding examinations. Please ring if clarification is needed on this point. There are two 20 minute open book examinations and the associated practical assessments. A third examination and associated assessment will be required for candidates not holding the Essential Electrics unit. The NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Interior Systems is appropriate for individuals aged 16 and over working in the construction sector who specialise in dry lining finishing and are looking to become eligible for the Blue CSCS Card. Planned changes to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme mean that from September 2017, Construction Related Occupation (CRO) cards will be phased out. Without registration on an accepted course, or an industry-recognised qualification for your trade, you will not be able to apply for a CSCS card, unless you apply for the CSCS Labourer Card, to access construction sites. An IOSH Working Safely Certificate, along with a CITB Health & Safety Certificate, allows you to apply for a Labourer Card. Therefore, from September 2017, without a CSCS card, you won't get on site. The Labourer Card may be the only way you can get on site.

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence of individuals who specialise in this area and upon completion of the qualification, you will be awarded the NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Curtain Wall CSCS Cards Candidates can undertake the CSCS test and obtain the red (Provisional) CSCS card on signing up for this qualification. The red CSCS card can usually be obtained within 7 to 14 days and can be used to access the construction sites for a period of 12 months.
