In health and social care settings, regular tasks often involve the manual movement, lifting, or handling of people in your care. Our moving and handling training courses aim to instruct participants on the legislation, necessary skills and potential risks associated with the safe movement of people. This includes people’s mobility and the varying types of equipment and techniques you will come across. Why is moving and handling training important? There are an estimated 400 million hours of care delivered annually in the UK and these hours are gradually growing due to having and increasingly aging population, playing a crucial role in providing personal care and enabling individuals of all ages and backgrounds to maintain as much independence as possible. Carers frequently engage in lifting activities, which require correct training and experience to minimise the risk of short and long-term injuries to both the carer and the individual they support, as well as the potential for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The operation of lifting individuals presents significant risks for both the supporter and the person being lifted in various social settings, including hospitals, care homes, leisure, and education. Poor lifting techniques and the use of incorrect equipment can exaggerate existing conditions for both parties, sometimes instantly. We offer an affordable alternative to training, with access to the latest techniques and equipment to assist you in your everyday working with individuals, aiming in providing best practice solutions to any hinderances you may come across.

Course Details Please note there is an additional charge for both OP & Sup units needing to be completed via re-assessment, please call the YCDI team if you are unsure - 01782 438813. If your streetworks card is about to or has already expired, you will need to take a NRSWA reassessment course. You are not able to work on a streetworks site with expired certificates. You can take reassessments at anytime before your certificates expire and the remaining time left before expiry is now added to your new card. For example, if you take your reassessment with 6 months still remaining, it will be added to your new card when you receive it, resulting in 5 years and 6 months on your card expiry. If you completed your NRSWA Operative or Supervisor course with us, we will advise you that you will need to complete the reassessment course within 3 months of the expiry date. If you are unsure what course is best for you, contact a member of our team who will be happy to help you. Prepare for your reassessment with our practice quiz. Although this quiz is aimed at people taking the full 5-day course, the questions will still be helpful revision before taking your reassessments.

REFERENCE CODE 603/5204/8 COURSE LEVEL NVQ Level 3 THIS COURSE IS AVAILABLE IN Course Overview Who is this Qualification for? This qualification is aimed those who carry out supervisory activities in a specific trade in the Construction Industry. The qualification certificate will carry an endorsement to show what trades the candidate was supervising during completion of this qualification. The qualification has a core group of 5 mandatory units that cover areas including Health and Safety, confirming work requirements and coordinating work operations. The qualification also has a group of optional units to allow flexibility to suit individual needs and responsibilities and completion of mandatory units and a minimum of 2 units from the optional group will give access to the relevant CSCS card. This qualification replaces version 1 of the GQA Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction) QAN 601/3469/0 for anyone starting the qualification from 01/11/2019. What is required from candidates? This qualification consists of 5 mandatory units, which have a total of 57 credits and a group of optional units. Candidates must complete all 5 mandatory units and a minimum of 2 units from the optional group. GQA qualifications are made up of units that have a credit value or credits. These credits must be achieved in the correct combination of mandatory and optional units. Qualifications are now required to indicate the total qualification time (TQT), this is to show the typical time it will take someone to attain the required skills and knowledge to meet the qualification criteria. The units of assessment set out learning outcomes which describe what learners need to be able to do and understand. The learning outcomes are defined by assessment criteria which are used to assess competence, expressed as skills achieved and learned knowledge and understanding, to achieve the units. Achievement of the mandatory units and chosen optional units will mean the qualification has been completed and will be subject to approval of a claim for certification. GQA Qualifications will issue a certificate complete with the learner’s name, the qualification and unit titles and the credits achieved.
