Welcome, Turning Tree Arts is the umbrella name for the drawing, painting and sculpture classes and workshops I run from my studio at Parndon Mill in Harlow, which is also home to my fine art practice. Facebook Social Icon The main term time classes I run from only £7 per hour are mixed ability (in drawing, painting and sculpture). Classes are small due to the studio size and are designed to allow each individual the time and space to explore materials, techniques and ideas in a supportive and open approach to imagination.

HSTS Taekwon-Do is a member of the UTA and also UK ITF, which is the international national organisation (INO) for ITF Taekwon-Do in the UK. The UK ITF is recognised as a full member of the British Taekwon-Do Council, which is in turn recognised by the sports council. At HSTS Taekwon-Do, we are dedicated to teaching the authentic martial art of ITF Taekwon-Do to anyone who wishes to learn. We firmly believe in the words of the founder that “Taekwon-Do is a martial art for anyone and everyone,” and we welcome students of all fitness levels and ages to discover the excitement and self-defence benefits of this martial art practice. Our passion for teaching ITF Taekwon-Do stems from our own experiences as practitioners. Our head instructor Master G.Horan 8th degree, who started training with Grandmaster Sahota in 1985, has never looked back since his first lesson. Think of the thing that makes you most happy. When you see it or get involved in it, you light up. That is what creating art does for me. The different commissions I have undertaken have taken me on journeys I might not have otherwise gone on. Connecting with the client and finding out about the reason, motivation and need for the commission sparks all kinds of ideas. My personal art practice often includes playing with a variety of art materials. Whether it's using gouache, creating digital illustrations, using ink and bamboo or cutting into cardboard envelopes to create a scene, there is always some new way to use these materials to express an idea. Biography Originally from the American Midwest, I trained as a Fine Art major, minoring in Art Education. I currently work in Edinburgh as both an artist and an art teacher of young children. All of my art lessons incorporate Art History and the creation of artworks inspired by the work of specific artists or even just a single work by an individual. My professional practice focuses on drawing people, architecture and creating pieces using a variety of art materials. My work has been exhibited throughout the UK and USA, notably the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh and the Barbican Artists Studios in London. I divide my work time between creating illustration pieces for various corporate and private clients and teaching children and adults.

Established in 2012 by Jill Martin Boualaxai and Damian Michael Malone, Look and Draw runs a year round program of exciting and innovative art classes and workshops from Wasps Artists Studios near Haymarket and monthly pop up events at The Safari Lounge in Abbeyhill. Look and Draw classes are brought to you by a group of like minded professional artists who are all passionate about the visual arts and about taking the right approach to drawing and painting. The majority of classes are tutored by Jill Martin Boualaxai. Other ad hoc tutors with Look and Draw are Cat Bruce, Sarah Calmus, Lorna Johnson, Oana Stanciu & Matthew Storstein . We provide a structured and supportive teaching environment that aims to inspire and challenge. We encourage you to develop your own visual language of mark making, and we work to equip you with the skills, knowledge and theory to further your own art practice.

Sugar Storm has evolved with me as I’ve learnt, failed, experimented, struggled balancing working three jobs and running a business, supported my mental health, (and not supported my mental health) but at the heart of it has always been a love of the alternative, an encouragement of self-expression and a desire to be a little bit different. I created Sugar Storm as a call to arms, to encourage you to choose differently. Choose the things that feel like you, choose clothes that make you feel good the moment you put them on and every time after that, choose companies who are transparent, who support the things you support, choose yourself over and over again. Sugar Storm celebrates DIY, self-expression, unconventional living and embracing the things that make you unique. All those things that were at the heart of the business in the very beginning continue to shape the work I do. Over the course of 2022, and in large part due to the TOW development project and Metal residency for allowing the space to do so, I began to refocus and rebuild Sugar Storm Studio. This meant moving away from fashion and exploring new possibilities for my art practice, workshops, tarot and physical events. In 2023 I am focusing on creating new independent art projects and developing new ways to nurture creativity and empower unconventional individuals.

My name’s Marion Webber and I’ve been working in the field of Arts in Health and more general participatory arts for over a decade. Studies* have proven the benefits of taking part in creative activities that support our daily lives. I founded Arting Celfio during 2020, to enable Healthcare professionals and artists specialising within Arts and Health to collaborate and provide high-quality, tailor-made, person-centered arts projects. I am a practicing artist based in South Wales, with extensive experience in Participatory Arts Practice. This has given me the privilege to work with diverse participants on many commissions resulting in the installation of artworks in both temporary and permanent exhibitions. My art practice and knowledge inform how I collaborate and co-curate projects with Healthcare professionals and fellow artists within the field of Arts in Health. I have an MA (with Distinction - Arts Practice Arts, Health and Wellbeing) and gained a PGCE PcET Teaching Qualification (Post-16 and Adult Education sectors). I deliver creative workshops, informed by reflective practice and a commitment to continued professional development that connects, and provides meaningful activities that value people’s input and stories.
