To see the day in action see our Instagram post here DURING THIS DAY SESSION YOU WILL… Learn how to prepare copper before enamelling. Understand how to fire enamels to the right temperatures to create attractive results. Practice how to sift onto copper to create an even surface to be able to decorate it. Explore and practice sgrafitto and stenciling enamelling techniques. Learn how to draw onto enamelled surfaces using graphite pencils. Learn how to wash enamels and use them to paint patterns onto enamelled surfaces. Understand the principles decorating metal with enamels and the processes of firing enamels at the correct temperatures to achieve specific effects. You will be shown a series of demonstrations throughout the day and can try all of the techniques demonstrated or you can decide to concentrate on a particular technique – this is your ay to explore enamelling and the vast potential it offers. Please note, this day is not focussed on working on finished designs or working with silver. Enamelling takes time to learn and explore. You will be working with a series of copper blanks – some of which have holes so you are able to slot them onto earring hooks or place a jump ring on them for a pendant if you are pleased with your sample. The aim of the course is to introduce you to the techniques and processes and for you to experiment and put into practice what you have been shown, not to create finished designs at this stage, this will be something you can work towards once you have gained some experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None, all abilities are welcomed. We support you throughout the session and provide demonstrations to show you the techniques and steps needed to create your project. CLASS SIZE: 6 WHAT IS INCLUDED? All tools and consumables are supplied. We will supply copper sheet for your samples, but please feel free to bring along any pierced designs you might have of your own or anything you would like to experiment with. YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH: Copper sheet is supplied. WHAT TO BRING: A sketch book – to note your practices throughout the day, especially important for those who would like to recreate their samples again at home or on future occasions. If you want to bring along any silver to experiment with, you are welcome to do so. Please wear closed toe shoes – no sandals or flip flops as you will be working with hot metal and tools. Please bring along any lunch, snacks and drinks for the session. We have tea and coffee supplies you are welcome to help yourself to but make sure you bring enough refreshments and supplies to keep you going during the day. You will be provided with all the silver required to make two stacking bangles and a charm to accompany them. This is an excellent starting project for a beginner. After the hellos and introductions are done with the rest of your group, and the weekend plan has been set, you’ll head up to our camp for your first evening of woodland shenanigans! If you are planning to get to us by public transport, we can help you lift share with another adventurer!  Your hosts will give you the camp tour and you then have the evening to settle in and become accustomed to Camp Living! After a quick introduction to the camp, you’ll want to settle into your shared Bell tent (air bed, sheets & a light blanket provided) before the evening activities begin. Complete with a hand-built games area, Axe throwing zone and sheltered communicable Fire Pit, you’ll spend your time getting to know everyone, and designating the camp chef for the following evening!  SATURDAY MORNING Your first morning starts with a coffee and a camp breakfast of cereals and fruits as you prepare for your first day of activities. If you have personal dietary requirements or feel you’d need something more substantial please ensure you bring this with you. Your hosts are with you for the whole weekend, so if you have any questions about the itinerary they are only a shout away!  You’ll head back to our HQ in Newquay to get ‘wet’suited and booted for your first surf lesson. As we are in the centre of town we have the choice of either Towab or Fistral Beach. Your location is chosen depending on the best conditions for the day.  Whether you are experienced or it’s your first time, our surf coaches are on hand to offer advice and guide you throughout your surfing lesson.  LUNCH You’ll have plenty of time between activities to grab some lunch, take a stroll around Newquay’s many surf shops or head back to our base and hang out in the garden. Newquay has a great vibe during the summer with plenty to look at, just ask us for some recommendations on where to go and what to see. SATURDAY AFTERNOON After lunch, you’ll head back up to our camp for your first yoga session either in our hand-built yoga barn if the weather isn’t on our side or by the side of our acre pond soaking up the sun! Your yoga session is tailored to ease those post-surf aches and spins away and guide you into a relaxed and zen state enabling you to slide into camp living effortlessly! SATURDAY NIGHT Once the day’s activities are finished the rest of the afternoon is yours to relax with a book, explore the camp, or even have a little dip in our pond! You’ll finish the night off with stories around the campfire, roasting marshmallows or one or two of your favourite drinks before sleeping soundly under the stars. SUNDAY - Day 3 Sunday morning starts with the obligatory tea or coffee and our camp breakfast. After breakfast, it’s time to wave goodbye to the wild camp and head back to Newquay, jump into a wetsuit and hit the Cornish waves one last time. Your second surf lesson builds on the previous day's experience – Today is all about having fun in the surf! After a general overview of surf conditions, and recapping the fundamentals it’s straight into the ocean to get the most out of your time in the sea – your coaches will as always be on hand giving personal feedback and goals to aim for in your surfing. Outspoken Cycles Park Tool School courses are aimed at home mechanics who wish to have an in-depth knowledge of their bikes as well as those individuals required to maintain bikes for friends, schools, clubs, businesses and other organisations. The 4 Day Advanced course teaches you advanced mechanical skills following the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair syllabus in order to help you gain the confidence to take on bicycle repairs involving various manufacturers and systems. Completion of assessment leads to the award of a certificate. You are encouraged to work on your own bike. Please be aware for some elements of the course certain bikes may not be suitable, however, there are also a number of classroom bikes to work on where necessary. We can provide a classroom bike if you’re unable to bring your own.  Course Detail Over four days you will cover: Workshop Practices (Health and Safety, Safe use of tools, PPE, etc.) Tyres & Tubes (Inspection, sizing, systems, puncture repair) Cassettes & Freewheels (types, compatibility, wear, removal and installation) Hub Service (full strip down and rebuild, different systems) Gears and Cabling (identify issues, re-cable, set up and adjustment) Headsets (a-Head and Quill types, strip down and reassemble) Wheel Truing (spoke replacement, introduction to truing, demo wheel construction and lacing) Frame Assessment & Preparation (damage, tools, frame preparation etc.) Bike Setup (choosing the right size bike, saddle height, basic bike fit) Cranksets & Bottom Brackets (different types discussed, removal and replacement) Rim & Disc Brakes (mechanical disc and rim brake set up and adjustment, demo of hydraulic brake bleed) Price The course costs £500 inc VAT.
