WHICH ORGANISATIONS: Brought heads of private sector organisations, public sector bodies, political leaders and leaders of NGOs together into a collective learning space. Their common goal was the desire to have a positive impact on their organisations, their countries and their region. We have held these across Sub-Saharan Africa as well as within the region of Southern Africa, Asia (drawing people from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Malaysia) and Latin America. WHO WE WORKED WITH: Leaders, influencers and manager from a diverse cross-section of sectors and occupations. WHAT WE DID: Offered established leaders from the public, private and voluntary sectors who are at or near the CEO level, an opportunity to transform what they and their organisations do. This was done using transformational leadership theory and experiential learning techniques to enable cross-cultural conversations and mutual learning. This enabled each individual to draw on new techniques and cross sector experiences to develop their thinking and practice. OUTCOMES: Leaders who lead with a greater sense of themselves, the systems they work in and the wider network of leaders that they can both influence and draw on as a resource. Shifted the way leaders see their responsibility and accountability not only to their organisation but to the wider context in which they work. Created a network of leaders who together are committed to make change.

I am Jacqui Shankly, and I have worked for over 20 years supporting families with young children. I began working in Early Years community music for the charity sector, working with families throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands. I loved my work, and what fascinated me most was the power of music to stimulate fun, playfulness, conversations and connection between children and their parents and carers. So began a lifetime of interest and research into early childhood development and attachment, culminating in training as a Play Therapist and founding Moonbeams CIC, an organisation dedicated to promoting positive childhood mental health through direct work with children, and support for the adults around them. My passion and joy is working with families. Parents are their child’s first and most enduring teacher, and the family dynamic forms the basis of a child’s future view of the world. Parenting is one of the most demanding jobs in the world, and everyone needs support from time to time. My approach is playful, non-judgemental and supportive. Whether you access individual Play Therapy or Filial Therapy support for your child or a child in your care, , or access one of my online training courses, then I am confident that your connection with your child will grow stronger, and your confidence to support them through life’s challenges will be enhanced.

Keeping Well in South East London (KWSEL) is a partnership between the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Services provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust (Oxleas), Bromley Healthcare and Mind (Bexley). The KWSEL hub was set up during the Covid-19 pandemic due to the considerable challenges and stresses experienced by health and care professionals. Keeping Well in SEL support is available to all staff delivering health and care services across SEL. This includes a universal offer through a digital portal which includes access to self-help resources, self-assessment, live chat and a community forum. We also offer telephone mental health assessments if you think you need psychological support, and wellbeing conversations if you need someone to talk to. The Keeping Well service is here to provide wellbeing and psychological support to: All NHS staff in South East London All staff in care/residential homes in South East London All voluntary sector staff in South East London, so long as some NHS/social care funding is allocated to your health and care organisation. Opening Up Cricket was formed in 2014 in response to the death of Sefton Park CC wicket keeper Alex Miller and a will to promote positive mental health in our sport. Alex took his own life in December 2012 and in the year that followed team mates supported the work of C.A.L.M to pay tribute. This has continued but as the season following his passing came to a close there was a thought to do something lasting and further reaching. As a result, the organisation was created with the aim of speaking to local cricketers about the experience of losing Alex in the hope that more conversations about this topic could prevent further tragedies. Now, in 2022, we have delivered over 400 sessions across the United Kingdom and Australia. The desire to get our message to the cricketing community remains as strong as ever. We are run by unpaid volunteers with help from the National Lottery Community Fund who have provided a grant for sessions costs so that groups can receive them without charge. We also owe a lot of thanks to the support provided by clubs, leagues and partners who have supported in many ways more to allow us to go further than the grant. Currently we are registered as a Community Interest Company but have now applied for registered charity status.

The Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS) gives vulnerable people a single place to register their status, helping them avoid repeating the same difficult conversations every time they engage with organisations like lenders and creditors. It is a “Not for Profit Company Limited by Guarantee” whose aim is to help vulnerable consumers protect themselves against the financial, social and very personal hardship suffered as a result of debt and financial problems. The stakeholders in the VRS all have experience working in Consumer Credit markets. There are regulatory, compliance, consumer affairs and IT expertise and acknowledged experts on our management team and Board. The VRS has a separate and independent Advisory Board of experts that meets regularly and feeds into the VRS appropriate advice and innovation to help drive the VRS forward. There has been considerable interest shown in the initiative since its launch from consumers and businesses alike. The VRS continues to grow as awareness expands among creditors and service providers of all sectors. Debt advice and mental health organisations are also supportive of the work the VRS does, and using the register to load consenting vulnerable consumers who wish to refer or auto decline lending and credit applications. The VRS provides businesses with instant API decisions and access to upload your consenting vulnerable consumers onto the VRS register. They are also able to upload consenting consumers on the VRS register via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and retrieve data from the SFTP.

Artist Bill Campbell arrived at Islington Mill in 1996, hiring a studio space in the partially-abandoned mill building that he saw every day across the road from his flat. Soon after arrival he invited other artists to join him and they began to host the first artist happenings. Islington Mill Arts Club as we know it was established in the year 2000 when Bill was able to purchase the whole of our listed building. He commenced a gradual programme of renovation, resulting in artist studios across four floors of the building, plus a large open space on the fifth floor and an atmospheric attic space on the sixth. Read more about our heritage here. We are now home to over 100 resident artists and collectives in the main mill building and adjacent engine houses. Following our successful capital build programme, and a fruitful partnership with Salford City Council, Islington Mill Arts Club now operates Regent Trading Estate, an adjacent plot of former industrial land where we have established new artist studios in former warehouse spaces, plus event spaces and a community garden. The Mill has always been a vibrant and resourceful cross-disciplinary creative network; a space where conversations leads to connections, collaboration and co-creation. Over the years our collaborative exploratory style has made our studios into a focal point for the north-west’s arts community, as well as visiting international artists and exchanges.

I've always had a love for paper products - buying a new diary was the hightlight of my school year and scraps of wrapping paper, sticker sheets, and vicotorian die cuts were treasured in old shoeboxes to reuse some day. I've always been drawn to kitschy imagery, glittery ephemera and colourful, quirky illustrations - looking back at my younger self, I can totally see why I do what I now do! After years of working in the corporate environment I decided to chase my bigger dream - running gooseglitters fulltime and show the world what beauty we can find in those old, vintage papers. It has become my mission to save as many secondhand books as I possibly can so you can often find me wondering around carboot sales and flea markets. Making new art from these old, used, sometimes ripped and stained, scribbled on, gorgeous papers makes me truly happy. Reusing and repurposing what is already with us and celebrating the life these books have lived, the conversations they've been part off, the households they've lived in: I seriously believe they need to be seen again. What makes me almost happier than creating collages myself is introducing others to this beautiful craft - have a look on my workshop page for more information. I was sent on a course which transformed my life and I attended a fast track programme to become a managing director. I was fortunate to work for an organisation committed to personal development which facilitated my enrolment in a Masters degree in Change Strategy & Facilitation Skills. Having left school with no more than 4 O Levels that was quite an achievement.
