Course Details The NRSWA Unit 1 course provides delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to sign, light and guard Street works and roadworks in line with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, revised 2002 Code of Practice. This course covers the setting out of traffic lights, signs, cones and barriers. If you supervise these works, then you will need the Unit 10 course. Product objectives include: Producing a plan of an intended site showing the position of signs, guarding and traffic signals - to include all distances, sizes, and dimensions required; Producing a list of equipment for the intended site; Fault finding on roadworks layouts; Position, test, adjust, commission and decommission temporary traffic signals; Conducting the activities safely wearing the appropriate safety wear.

This qualification is aimed at those working in an environment where an AED is available.

You never know when the need will arise to put these skills to use. The First Aid Training experience. A First Aid training course should be an interactive fun learning experience, not all chalk and talk. This is achieved by using fully qualified trainers/assessors, who are very experienced “hands on” training professionals. Our trainers are sympathetic to the needs of the individual trainee and adept at getting the best possible standard from the delegates. First Aid At Work Regulations: In the event of injury or sudden illness, failure to provide first aid could result in a casualty’s death. The employer should ensure that an employee who is injured or taken ill at work receives immediate attention. HSE will prosecute in cases where there is a significant risk, a disregard for established standards or persistent poor compliance with the law. HSE First Aid at Work – IMPORTANT! After 1st October 2013 the HSE is no longer responsible for approving providers of First Aid at Work courses. Providers must be approved by an Ofqual or SQA Awarding Body. The YMCA qualifications support every learner, whether they are taking their first steps into fitness or simply wish to boost their skills. Course Overview Through completion of this qualification, learners will develop an awareness of mental health and be able to signpost others to mainstream medical or alternative support organisations. The purpose of this qualification is to develop learners' understanding of mental health, mental ill health and the risks associated with mental health conditions. Learners will also learn about sources of support available to individuals with mental health conditions. Endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), this qualification can be used towards members' annual Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements. Enables learners to understand: • Mental health, mental ill health and mental health conditions • Attitudes to mental health • The importance of physical activity and exercise for mental health. Provides learners with knowledge of: • Risks associated with mental health conditions • Mainstream and alternative methods of supporting individuals with mental health conditions. Structure and Assessment: To achieve the YMCA Level 2 Award in Mental Health Awareness and Understanding Approaches to Support Individuals (603/7146/8), learners must successfully complete one unit. Entry Requirments Learners should be aged 16 plus No formal prerequisites, however it is recommended that learners hold YMCA Awards Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or equivalent. Progression Routes This qualification doesn't provide automatic progression onto another YMCA Awards qualification, however it may provide progression opportunities on to qualifications related to careers in mental health, health and social care, counselling or psychology. Learners taking this qualification may also consider further training at the same and higher levels in a range of qualifications.
