Overview This course sets out to develop attendee’s skills in understanding their own body language as well as being able to read the body language of others. If we can learn to identify and appreciate non-verbal clues, we can begin to improve our communication as a whole. This use of body language skills could impact situations such as; sales visits, interviews, presentations and normal day-to-day interactions where body language plays a part. Description Effective communication skills are critical in the development of relationships between people and although verbal communication plays a large part in this, studies have shown that a proportionate amount of our message comes from not what we say, but very often the non-verbal communication behind the message. Therefore, it is clear that body language is an important, influential aspect of communication and understanding how it works is essential in the development of your personal communication skills. Topics covered: Core Principles and the Five C’s – Exploring the subconscious effects of body language and setting the scene by ensuring participants appreciate the rules to interpreting body language. Reading Body Language – Gestures – An activity that helps participants realise the power of body language and how important it is to communication. Arm Barriers – Understanding the different arm barrier gestures and crossed arm positions and what each means. Palm and Handshake Gestures – Discussing the different handshakes and palm actions, what they mean and how they are applied in real life. Includes activities that test the theory. Hand and Thumb Gestures – A review of these different gestures and what they mean. Hand to Face Gestures…or… How to Spot a Liar! – An exploration of different gestures that involve the hand moving to the face. Identifying how to spot body language that signifies lying and what to watch out for. Chin and Cheek Gestures – An activity that helps participants understand the different chin and cheek gestures and how to interpret this body language. Eye Signals – A review of pupil dilation, directed gazes and eye accessing cues in order to fully understand how eyes provide body language clues. Matching & Mirroring – Looking at the technique of building rapport and developing relationships through careful observation of body language. Bringing it all Together – An activity that allows participants to embed their learning and realise how much they now understand and appreciate body language and its effect on communication. This IMI Level 4 Award is designed for those personnel who, in the course of their daily work, are required to work ‘live’ on the electric/hybrid vehicle power train. On completing this qualification those personnel will have gained and extensive knowledge and skills level of high voltage technologies and their dangers. The content of this qualification has been designed in close liaison with industry specialists, electric vehicle manufacturers, training providers, the HSE and the IMI.

This training course has been designed to give all staff the knowledge of how to safely use a Vehicle Fire Blanket in the event of a fire. Those who attend the course will be taught how to safely deploy the blanket, remove the blanket and clean up and re-pack the blanket for its next use. As part of the training, the attendees will also be shown and taught the best practices for handling the fire blanket including the necessary steps of a periodic check of the blanket. Another key aspect to the Vehicle Fire Blanket Training Course is educating people on the possible fire situations with electric and hybrid vehicles and how to identify potential fire issues and risks. The course will end with a survey of the customers site to identify the best location for the fire blanket(s) to be located and determine any signage and additional equipment which may be required.

This IMI qualification is designed for technicians who maintain, diagnose and repair high and low voltage operating systems on electric/hybrid vehicles. It contains the skills and knowledge required to work safely around a vehicles high and low voltage train system, whilst carrying out repairs or maintenance. This course will also cover working safely around a vehicle that may have has damage to its high energy/electrical system.

This IMI qualification is designed for technicians who maintain, diagnose and repair high and low voltage operating systems on electric/hybrid vehicles. It contains the skills and knowledge required to work safely around a vehicles high and low voltage electrical system and electric drive train system, whilst carrying out repairs or maintenance. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around the vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system. On completing this qualification, technicians will have gained knowledge of both low and high voltage technologies and an understanding of their dangers. The content of this qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge and skills required to work safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying our diagnostic, testing and repair activities.

It contains the knowledge required to work safely around the electric/hybrid vehicles high and low voltage electrical system and electric drive train systems. On completing this qualification those personnel will have gained knowledge of both low and high voltage technologies and an understanding of their dangers. The content of this qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge and skills required to work safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles during emergency and recovery situations.

This IMI qualification is designed for technicians who maintain and repair electric/hybrid vehicles. It contains the skills and knowledge required to work safely around the electric/hybrid vehicles high and low voltage electrical system and electric drive train systems, whilst carrying out repairs and maintenance. On completing this qualification, technicians will have gained knowledge of both low and high voltage technologies and an understanding of their dangers. The content of this qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge and skills required to work safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying out routine maintenance and repair activities (not high voltage components or systems)

Electric Vehicle Technicians have had access to certified training at different levels of competency for a number of years, but this has not been the case for Vehicle Dismantling Technicians until now. Vehicle repairers have been taught how to diagnose faults on Electric or Hybrid vehicles, make them safe, repair or replace the high voltage component and then put the vehicle back together and make them work. Vehicle dismantlers need to know how to assess Electric and Hybrid vehicles, store them properly, make them safe and dismantle them, store the parts and ship them out for re-use, repurposing or recycling, so the accredited and certified training for vehicle repair technicians met some of the criteria for dismantling but not all. Electric Vehicle Dismantling Training raises the professional standards of the vehicle dismantling and recycling industry, provides consistent training standards across the world, helps develop knowledge and understanding, enables team members to grow their own abilities, and achieve accredited training.
