We have decided to cap sessions at 16 participants, to allow for space in the gym. As much as Covid regulations have eased, we believe that it is worth keeping the space in the gym. In addition to this, it makes for a better training environment if the gym is not too crowded. However, at times we may allow additional attendees at the coach’s discretion. We will continue to monitor this. We currently are not requesting participants to show a negative test before training. We would ask however that you are sensible. If you are showing covid symptoms, then please do not attend a session. If you do test positive please do let us know as soon as possible so we can contact other members so everyone can test themselves. Please do maintain social distancing as much as is possible in the gym. We will continue to review this and if we are unfortunate enough to have cases in the gym, or if government guidance changes, then we may have to think about asking for a negative test result before attending. Gemini run semi structured sessions as these sessions are for adults. There will be a group warm up and basic lines and/or conditioning at the start of each session. After this, participants will be able to use the gym as they see fit. However, there is always a coach in the room who will be more than happy to offer coaching advice and guidance if requested of them and please don’t be afraid to ask us – it is what we are there for! Coaches will also monitor the room and if a particular piece of apparatus is busy we may ask you to rotate to a different piece if you have been on the same one for a while. Whilst we make every effort to ensure sessions go ahead, please be aware that there may be times that sessions will have to be cancelled. If this happens every effort will be made to make up the missed session, either by rolling over your session to another day or adding an additional session to make up for this. This usually only happens due to staff sickness or unavailability due to training courses or competitions. BG Membership We do require all our members, whether casual or regular, to be BG registered. This is for insurance purposes as gymnastics is a high risk sport and accidents can occur. The membership is £19 for the year. If you chose not to become BG registered, then you accept that you are training entirely at your own risk and Gemini are not liable for any accidents that happen. We also reserve the right to deny entry to anyone who is not registered. https://www.british-gymnastics.org/renewal-options Missed Sessions If you cannot make a session, we understand! Life happens. However, we would appreciate it if you could let us know at least 24 hours before the session so we can fill your space. We do quite often have a waiting list due to the capped numbers. If you let us know 24 hours or more in advance that you cannot make a session, we are more than happy to roll your session over to another one WITHIN THE SAME MONTH. However, if you do not let us know then we will not allow the session to be rolled over and you will not receive a refund. Of course, if there are extenuating circumstances, we will judge these on a case-by-case basis. New Members We are always happy to welcome new members. However, I would ask that you please don’t share the booking link with anyone. If anyone is interested, then please do give them Becky’s contact details so she can set them up on the system before booking in for sessions. Behaviour and General Etiquette At Gemini we have worked hard to create friendly and fun adult sessions, where we can genuinely say most of our members become friends. To this end, any unsociable behaviour will not be tolerated. All our members and staff have a right to be respected and treated fairly. Any abuse (verbal or physical), disrespect, bullying etc will never be tolerated and if this happens you will be asked to leave the club immediately.

I am delighted to be Head of Valley College , an educational environment which is focused on its mission statement 'Preparation for Adulthood, Citizenship and Employment' (PACE). It is so important to ensure all learners gain the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives, and become informed, active and responsible citizens in society. Having been appointed as Head of Valley College and Ewood Campus in September 2021, I would like to share some information about the provision for Valley College learners. Valley College learners are supported by skilled and familiar staff and alongside their advocates, create a bespoke individualised pathway to ensure future aspirations are achieved. Learners are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities across and beyond the curriculum, contributing fully to the life of the college and their communities. Learners have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and understand how they are developing personally and socially, tackling many of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing into adulthood. Within Valley College, learners are able to develop new skills and access the community, and sessions are focused on preparing learners for adult life. Valley College ensures all learners leave with relevant qualifications (if appropriate) and gain their desired aspiration destination. We work together with our learners to increase their independence, so they can take more control over their lives. Valley College is a friendly place where learners can develop interests and gradually gain the skills and confidence they need to move on to the next stage of their lives, preparing them for adulthood, citizenship and employability.

Canbury is a happy, purposeful place of personal discovery for students aged 11 to 18. The ethos of the School is that great minds do not all think alike and we have established a reputation for delivering a first class, personalised education to students of all academic abilities. The Avenues team of youth professionals provides a safe, caring, youth-led space in a disadvantaged inner-city area, where young people can learn, develop and build towards a brighter future. Open-access after-school and holiday programmes take place in our purpose-built youth centre in North Westminster. We are ambitious in our goals and the way in which we help those affected by domestic abuse. To tackle the root cause of domestic abuse we work directly with individuals who are being abusive. We make it our mission and our focus to identify the complexities behind violent, coercive and controlling behaviour to end the cycle of domestic abuse and reduce repeat victimisation. Too often the value of a perpetrator led approach is overlooked in favour of victim services due to the lack of evidence and lack of funding. Our decades of experience working with perpetrators, and subsequent results, has reinforced the belief that people can change. We have access to, and intelligence on, perpetrators outside of criminal justice that no other agencies have, enabling us to measure success rates as well being the first to intervene to ensure victim safety. We know that responding to domestic abuse is a challenge across all frontline services and we can’t do this alone. We work with a range of stakeholders across the voluntary and statutory sector to deliver what we know works. We are fortunate to have excellent partnerships with those sharing our passion to make a difference, no matter how hard it seems. We strongly believe the current criminal justice response to offenders needs reviewing. If we are to address the vulnerabilities associated with offending , and ultimately reduce offence rates, it requires a significant shake up. To that end we are not afraid to test new approaches evident in our innovative criminal justice interventions and the programmes we offer young adult offenders to consider their choices. We are currently exploring a trauma informed response to working with females in the criminal justice system.

My story. Hmm. Writing my story caused a great deal for me and this was the last section I completed on the website. Why? There are 2 reasons: I am reluctant to talk about myself. I am an introvert and observing others while I complete my internal thinking processes is the way I operate. I value honesty but I am also very private. I generally want to support others and being vulnerable about my own struggles is difficult for me as I don’t want to be a burden for others. Or if I achieve great results, I also tend to stay modest as I don’t want to “show off”. This behaviour is something I had to work on during my adult years, however I still carry traits. I also do not like to talk a lot. I always just say as much as necessary to give the information needed. I am very curious and insightful, I typically strive to move past appearances and get to the heart of things. I am reserved and quiet. But not shy. When I communicate, I do that with warmth and sensitivity. Other times, I speak with passion and conviction. My personality is reflected greatly during my coaching sessions as I possess exceptional listening skills, I understand peoples’ true motivations, feelings, and needs. I pick up key words and I observe my clients through all my senses. I listened to many great speakers, coaches, mentors, leaders, writers sharing their stories where they related to their audience and connected their purpose to their own lives. I admired them and I understood that sharing my own story can make a huge impact on how I express myself and how I introduce myself to my audience. I really wanted to select a story that truly aligned with my values rather than one that offered me status or material gain.

Little Yoga Studio aims to empower children and adults, in mind and body, through a fun, creative and inspiring approach to yoga. My children’s classes focus on exploring a child’s natural flexibility. Improving their own strength and poise, while helping them nurture a strong sense of self and awareness of others. The journey isn’t dissimilar with my adult classes. With each class, we work on bringing inner harmony through movement, breath and meditation. Uniting the body, mind and spirit to awaken our true Self. My teaching journey began shortly after the birth of my daughter. Having practiced yoga for 10 years, I found motherhood gave me a new perspective. Wanting to deepen my practice, I found myself taking to the mat in between my classes. And as I moved through poses or paused in meditation, I noticed her watching with curiosity. Before long she was on my mat, copying the poses and demanding more ‘mummy yoga.’ Soon she had her own mat (in her favourite colour, purple, of course) and we were practicing yoga together daily. Really I have her to thank for setting me on this path. As watching her little character flourish in our practices together has inspired me to share this with both little and bigger minds alike. My 200-hr training with Avani Yoga Academy and Yoga Bananas means I am now honoured to share the ancient practice of yoga in an authentic and heartfelt way to adults, children and families alike. Of course yoga is a lifelong journey that is forever evolving. I am honoured to continue my own discovery with a 50-hour Yoga Nidra Immersion with Avani Yoga Academy and Naomi Absalom’s 6-month Liberate mentorship, among others.
