Craft workshop where you have a go at simple glass cutting before layering your chosen colours up with textural details to produce your own Big Bold Hanging. Fused Glass Workshop – Big Bold Hangings I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This in person fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop For this workshop I’ll give you a base piece of clear glass (precut and with a hole drilled (approx 30x5cm) for you to decorate with stripes of your favourite colours. I prepare lots of transparent glass to give you lots of strips to cut to length yourself. Build a design and layer as you like with extra textural details to really personalise your make. This is a great introduction to glass cutting, anyone can do it with the tips and tricks I’ll show you. The main thing to remember is to have fun! You will play with different types of decorative glass elements and learn a little about how the kiln firing will change them. Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, clean and finish with a lovely ribbon, ready for you to display and enjoy. We will arrange for you to collect your piece after a few weeks or I can post your finished piece at cost. I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling precut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you. Fused Glass Workshop – Set of Trinket Dishes I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. About this fused glass workshop Create a set of 3 mini dishes, a perfect size for a tealight candle or to store your earrings and rings. Make for yourself of to give as gifts. Explore two different design/construction processes and use precut tiles, rods and frit balls to create your designs. Can’t make the workshop? Still want to make your own fused glass dishes, check out my simplified (but still sparkly) make at home kit. Explore a little in this short fused glass taster workshop and learn a little about how the kiln firing to 800 degrees c changes the raw/pointy pieces of glass to a have smooth, shiny finish. Simply complete your designs during the session and leave them with me at the studio for me to fire twice, once flat and once into the bowl mould. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later or I can post your finished piece at cost. One day silver clay workshop in Market Bosworth you will make 3 to 5 solid silver jewellery pieces taught by a fully qualified metal clay artist. Come and have fun learning the magic of Silver Metal Clay. Silver clay is a recycled product which when fired becomes solid silver and is Hallmark quality. The best thing is it requires few tools so makes a great new hobby. A workshop for beginners or experienced jewellers, you will learn how to: Roll and pattern clay Cut shapes and create moulds Sand , drill and prepare your piece for firing Fire and polish add patinas and add findings so your solid silver jewellery is ready to wear.

Over the years our 2 day bushcraft course has proven to be our most popular bushcraft course. It’s been carefully designed to initiate you into the joys of outdoor living, although many of the skills that you’ll be taught are easily transferable to other outdoor activities. This 2 day bushcraft course is intended for people who would like to understand what bushcraft is all about and to learn simple, repeatable bushcraft and survival skills.  This includes campers, backpackers, hikers and other outdoors people who wish to learn some of the skills required to be comfortable in the outdoors, so that you have the time to really enjoy what is around you. We have people attend who have no previous bushcraft experience as well as those with some prior experience and we can say with absolute honesty that everyone leaves knowing more than when they arrived! During your time spent with us on this bushcraft course, you will: - Learn how to safely use essential bushcraft tools including knife, folding saw and bow saw - Have plenty of practise creating a flame using matches, fire steels, fire pistons, wire wool & a battery, solar mirrors, flint & steel, chemicals and fire by friction - Carve your own honey spreader or spatula from materials you gather in our ancient woodland - Understand the pros and cons of debris shelters, where & how to build one, and sleep in one if you wish - Put up a tarp and hammock using only 3 simple knots that can be tied and untied wearing gloves (you can sleep in a hammock if you like) - Find, filter and purify your own water - Go for a woodland walk to gain an insight into some of the trees and plants around us and what they can be used for - Learn how to sharpen a knife so that it will slice through a sheet of paper - Locate and identify different natural tinders easily found in the woods - Gather your own materials and light a fire following a method that will work in all weather conditions. At the end of this bushcraft course you will have a good working knowledge of the skills needed to enjoy your time in the woods or enhance your camping or outdoor activities. About us and the venue: Jack Raven Bushcraft was founded in 2011 and we've been delivering bushcraft, craft and foraging courses since then from our 30 acre private ancient woodland on the Kent Downs in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Courses in the summer are held outdoors in our woodland camp complete with covered work areas, an outdoor kitchen and a composting loo. Phoenix Pottery and Art Studio is an Artist owned creative space offering pottery and art and craft classes in Golborne near Warrington, Cheshire. We have a range of pottery and art / craft classes and workshops, for beginners to experienced. Near Warrington, St Helens, Wigan and approx 20 miles from Manchester and Liverpool centres.

You will first learn different ways to texture metal, then you will choose one to texture your silver disc, create a bezel for your stone, solder on the ring or bail and finally set your stone and polish. There will be a selection of semi-precious stones to choose from.
