At University Centre Leeds we offer a range of Higher Education qualifications which include: Foundation, top-up and bachelor's degrees PGCEs and Masters HNC/Ds Higher Technical qualifications Nationally recognised higher and degree apprenticeships Foundation Degrees are well respected qualifications in their own right and develop specific expertise relevant to a particular sector of industry. This includes key transferable skills such as learning skills, management of self, communication skills, ICT and numeracy skills, academic writing skills etc. Foundation Degrees are flexible qualifications and are designed to meet the need of employers for highly skilled, work-ready personnel. The qualifications are similar to Higher National Diplomas, but with added emphasis on work-based learning. Unless a course states otherwise, Foundation Degrees generally last two years (full time) though some courses offer a part time study option – please see individual course entries for further details. You can be confident that our courses are industry relevant and current, written in consultation with employers and key industry partners. Students spend the first two years to attain a Foundation Degree, and then have the option to top up their qualification to gain a full honours degree, either with us at University Centre Leeds or at an alternative institution.

I work as a coach because it allows me the freedom to use everything I’ve learnt in the last 38 years from all the people I’ve worked with and all the training courses I’ve done. I’ve been working in the mental health field for all of my adult life – initially as a counsellor, then running courses and supporting individuals using C.B.T and now as a Coach. The way I see it is that counselling is helpful in integrating the past, C.B.T. supports us to manage ourselves in the present, while coaching enables us to create the future we want. All are valid, and inevitably, my experience in all three influences how I work. I use many of these tools myself to maintain my own wellbeing. I love exploring with others what will enable them to develop greater resilience in the face of challenges and to improve their sense of wellbeing. Giving is part of the fabric of our community at TSP and what makes our school so special. Our staff give their time and expertise to create a memorable education for our children, and the children give so much energy and enthusiasm to their work. We would also like to invite members of the wider TSP community to give time, talent or treasure, however they can, in support of our school to make a direct difference to our children’s lives. Recent projects that have been supported / funded include: · Contributing to the refurbishment of the Hall through purchasing a new projector and speakers · Improving year 3 and 4 classrooms · Sourcing new ICT equipment · Extra workshops to further enhance the school’s curriculum The school’s current focus is on: · enhancing the Year 1 playground area. This small, contained area is very tired and in need of some improvements to create a stimulating, engaging space for play. Your contributions will make a difference every day for the children who pass through year 1 each year. · improving the Key Stage 1 playground which is a thoroughfare for the school and is also used as the play area for Clubhouse, our wrap around care service. · Following the refurbishment of the school hall which has improved central space for the children to use throughout the day, to now also upgrade the sound and lighting equipment which would further enhance our school performances and workshops. We aim to raise a minimum of £5,000 each academic year to support projects such as these – the more we can raise, the sooner our children can benefit. We know that giving money isn’t always possible, so here’s what you can do, whatever your circumstances:
