I’m John Dawson and my two day public speaking training courses are for people who want more confidence to present and to speak publicly. Often that’s the bit missed out of lots of presentation courses so my course is aimed at people who struggle with public speaking and want to feel far more at ease. So my courses are NOT about how to do powerpoint or how to prepare properly. The focus of my work is that I help anxious people who are scared to be fully seen, they are perhaps ashamed of their fear and definitely nervous about speaking up in public. So my belief is that you need to begin with learning the basic skills of confidence to be in front of people. So I teach over 30 two day courses a year in Bristol, London and Manchester.  My groups are small, no more than ten in a group. I've been teaching this course since 2000 so that's built up to 8000 people have been through my course. My definition of public speaking is very, very wide. It’s not just weddings or formal speeches. It includes presenting, speaking up at meetings, or anytime where you feel like you are the centre of attention and you don't enjoy it

At Bristol University Arts in Medicine Society, we seek to cater to the polymath by cultivating the artist, historian, and philosopher in you. We organise talks about a variety of topics, trips to places of interest, and an annual exhibition in a local gallery where we showcase the work of our members and other students.
