3 Day First Aid Description: The full 3-day First Aid at Work Qualification is nationally recognised. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations. This qualification is valid for three year, after which delegates need to complete a 2-day refresher course. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and care of the unconscious requires physical effort. Learners should be capable of working with casualties at floor level. Learners receive a First Aid at Work guide book, a training dressing and a CPR barrier protection device. The HSE strongly recommend that all First Aiders undertake annual refresher training of at least 3 hours per year. Course Information Who should attend? This course is for people renewing an existing Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate. My certificate has expired! You can attend with an expired certificate although the HSE recommends you attend the full 3 day First Aid at Work/ blended Level 3 First Aid at Work (RQF) if more than a month has passed since expiry.  Requalification courses are fast paced and you should ensure that you choose the correct course for your needs and level of competence to ensure successful completion. Course delivery Blended learning – Online (theory) combined with practical training (classroom) Online 6 hours of theory training based around the theory elements of the course. This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. Learners gaining this qualification will know that first aid is the responsibility of everyone involved in the working environment. Topics within this qualification meet the requirements for Paediatric first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 as being important to maintaining safe and effective practice when providing treatment of injuries and ill health of infants and children who are under the care of trained personnel. How long will it take me to achieve this qualification? This is a 3 credit qualification, with a guided learning hour’s value of 22 and it has a minimum contact time of 12 hours, which is typically delivered via a 2 day course. How is the qualification assessed? Learners must undertake a practical assessment of their competence along with a short open response knowledge assessment, where learners are required to provide a short response to a prescribed series of questions. What next? This qualification lasts for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course.
