Recent changes to Forestry Commission policy recommend those who work in the Forestry industry attend training which includes additional topics relevant to the risks and nature or their work. The Forestry Commission recommend topics including: Crush Injuries Catastrophic bleeding including chainsaw including chainsaw injuries and gun shot wounds Hypothermia / Exposure Suspension injuries Lyme's Disease Lightning & High Voltage injuries Casualty evacuation planning These are in addition to the normal Emergency First Aid criteria. Who Should Attend? This course is ideal for those who work or intend to work in a forestry, agricultural or remote environment, such as tree surgeons and farmers. Emergency First Aid Course Content Health & Safety First Aid Kit Resuscitation/CPR AED Familiarisation Recovery Position Choking - Adult, Child, Baby Burns & Scalds Poisoning including Anaphylaxis Epilepsy Shock Bleeding including Catastrophic bleeding Asthma Head Injuries Breaks, Sprains & Strains Specific Conditions (Heart Attack) Assessment / Certification Independent qualified assessors carry out the assessments. Each delegate that passes will receive a Certificate valid for Three years. Our *NEW* Mini First Aid Baby Proofing class is our second class, designed for parents and carers of babies and children over 3 months. It can be taken after our 2 hour Baby and Child First Aid class, or in isolation for those parents who are starting their weaning journey, or have a baby on the move!

Paediatric First Aid Emergency Paediatric First Aid One Day Course Cost:  £75 + vat per person This one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those interested in Child and Infant Basic Life Support, including parents, guardians and family members. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of Paediatric First Aid. The FAA Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification is Unit 1 of the two-day FAA Paediatric First Aid qualification. From gaining this Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification, learners could progress to completing Unit 2 and being awarded the 2-day FAA Award in Paediatric First Aid. The qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the Care of Children and Babies. It provides knowledge and skills to deal with a range of Paediatric First Aid conditions and incidents. SYLLABUS Role of the Paediatric First Aider Primary survey Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED) Wounds, bleeding and shock Seizure Choking Minor injuries Recovery position Maximum of 12 People Students must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify. Numbers A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course. CERTIFICATION The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to re-qualify for a further three years.
