We&rsquo;ll cover&nbsp;how to register your prints so they print in the same place every time. For this full day workshop, we&rsquo;ll create multi-coloured prints with two or more layers. Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.
All the equipment and materials you need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise. 
Light refreshments from local suppliers are provided. On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out. There is also a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus a range of supermarkets all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.
Allergies
The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Or check in before booking.

Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
All the equipment and materials you will need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise, plus light refreshments (a selection of Shibui teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet or savoury snacks). On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out; or there are a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus supermarkets, within a 5-10 minute walk.

Our taster and introductory workshops focus on teaching creative skills and methods you can continue practising at home, using affordable materials and equipment. Where more expensive equipment is required we will mention this in the workshop description.

Accessibility
The workshop space is on the first-floor of our Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Blue badge holders can park outside our front door on the single yellow line by arrangement.

The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. This workshop weaves together some thinking from our EI and Me (Emotional Intelligence) and Communicating Effectively workshops. It helps us understand that managing our day and time to get things done relies heavily on how we communicate with others and how free those people are to work. It explains how to connect all your jigsaw pieces (for your team as well).
We look closely at prioritisation and why our delegation matrix can be a serious game changer when designed and put to work correctly.

What comes under the banner of Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity includes Autism, ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia and other conditions. 
Allow flexibility and creative engagement with induction and on-boarding. Discuss and agree on identified training needs and time frames. Ensure the immediate supervisor or line manager understands the workplace adjustments and support required to best enable the employee in the context of their neurodiversity.
Just because someone is diagnosed or has symptoms which come under Neurodiversity, it does not mean you can find a way to communicate and behave towards them all. 
We make reasonable adjustments to help people with all sorts of different needs. For those with a sore back, we may ensure they can have the right chair. In addition to our traditional class-based tuition, we also offer Virtual (via Zoom) Learning courses to cater to different learning preferences. Our Virtual Learning courses provide the same high-quality tuition as our classroom-based sessions. To participate, you will need a laptop, PC, smart phone or tablet with a built-in or external camera and microphone. From the comfort of your own home, you will have the opportunity to communicate with your tutor and classmates through video chat, using your phone or computer camera. Quarterly meetings at the Academy
To ensure a well-rounded learning experience, you will be required to attend face-to-face lessons at the Academy on a quarterly basis, which means every three months. These sessions serve several important purposes:

The Academy provides a list of Private and NHS Dental Surgeries, who are regularly contacting us when looking for more Trainee Dental Nurses, so you can contact them directly as a registered student at the Academy. This is a paid job, unless you would like to work voluntary for personal reasons. We also provide a reference letter to the employee in case you need it.

The curriculum is based on the GDC (General Dental Council) registration requirements for dental nurses. It sets out the knowledge, skills and behavioural requirements that should be developed and demonstrated. These are set out in terms of professional competencies, with the assessment method clearly outlined (e.g. how the skills and knowledge will be assessed in the final examinations – via written questions such as multiple choice (MCQ) or extended matching questions (EMQ) or via Objective Structured Clinical Examinations – OSCEs). When are the exams?
There are two exams:
1. Multiple choice theory exam. November and March.
2. Practical exam. January and June. 
Record of Experience (eROE)
To be eligible to sit your first exam, you have to complete your electronic Record of Experience (eROE). The eROE has to be submitted to your tutor by 31st Jan for March exam, and 31st August for November exam.

Developing creative writing skills with a focus on imaginative writing, structuring, spelling, grammar and punctuation. The aim of the workshops is to help students to have written, or have made good progress on writing, their own 500 Word Short Story. Art & Flash with Anika Carpenter
Monthly online ekphrastic writing workshops exploring contemporary artworks for story inspiration. 

Each month, in friendly, fast-paced workshops, Anika Carpenter introduces a different contemporary artist and three to four of their artworks. Each artwork comes with an optional writing prompt inspired by the piece, along with a ten-minute writing sprint. 
There is an invitation to share what you have written if you would like to.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Anika Carpenter is a flash fiction author, workshop facilitator and artist with a background in the Fine Arts. Her fiction has been shortlisted for the Bath Flash Fiction Award and the Bridport Prize and has been published in numerous anthologies. You can find her stories at Gone Lawn, Ellipsis Zine, The Molotov Cocktail, Janus Literary and many more.

Anika received a Fine Art MA (distinction) with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Kingston University in 2010. She spent ten years working as an assistant to Turner Prize winning artists. Anika's own artwork has been exhibited at Towner Gallery and featured in numerous group exhibitions. She is the co-founder of Accident & Emergence (currently on hiatus) an artist-led project that organised collaborations, exhibitions and retreats. 
Anika's ekphrastic story 'Interview with Alice Moore, Potion Maker' won Bath Flash Fiction Festival's Great Flash Off competition in October, 2022. You can read it by clicking here. 

As well as running The Flash Cabin, Anika is a rep for Writers' HQ where she runs online sessions and in-person retreats in Brighton.

Regardless of which pathway you choose, you will attend 4 workshops (delivered via Zoom) and will submit 3 assignments.

The different techniques you can use to monitor quality
How to maintain and improve standards of delivery and assessment in your centre
The legal and regulatory requirement relating to internal quality assurance




If you are completing Pathway 2, you will be assigned a Learning Advisor who can support you to gather evidence of planning and carrying out IQA with 2 assessors, each with 2 learners. 

This includes: 

• Planning and carrying out IQA using a range of techniques, 
• Providing feedback to assessors
• Holding a standardisation meeting
• Reflections of professional practice and improving own learning
• An observation of you providing feedback to an assessor after IQA activity has taken place

Once you are fully qualified, you can the progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
