Smiles of Quorn Ltd is a Breakfast and After School Club that is fully insured and Ofsted registered (URN: 2520112) , set up in response to a growing demand from working parents for a safe, happy, secure and stimulating childcare environment. Our history Smiles of Quorn was founded in 2018 by good friends and work colleagues, Rachel Marshall and Suzy Saddington, both of whom have many years experience working with children in a pre-school as well as a primary school setting and both hold a Level 3 qualification in the Early Years Educator along with Paediatric First aid, Enhanced DSB certificate, safeguarding and many other related qualifications for childcare. Since Suzy's departure from the business in 2021, Rachel has continued to lead Smiles of Quorn carrying forwards the same passion and ethos established when we first opened. Both Rachel and Suzy are very proud of the childcare setting that Smiles of Quorn has become.

Making anything right now is a radical act in defiance of fear: making something however simple seeming – baking bread, making the bed; making art or a garden; a stiff drink or your mind up. It’s time to get creative and figure out how to keep our fingers busy, hearts full and souls satisfied. Time to roll sleeves up and get those hands dirty (as long as you wash ’em before and afterwards!) Finding ways to continue connections and sustain friendship feels so important, we’re glad that you’re a part of our community. Whatever comes next we have to make it together. Even if we can’t be with you here there are things that we’d like to share. There are tools at the workshop waiting for hands to use them. We’ll be glad to see shavehorses, benchhooks, chopping blocks, mallets and whittling tools loaned out to good homes, keeping folk crafting. We were so lucky to recieve a lot of wood before the doors closed, we’d love to see it go out to people who can use it. Let us know if you’d like a delivery of fresh green cherry, birch, whitebeam or oak. There are books in the library that could keep you busy learning something new over the next weeks and months. We’re working online too, hosting a shared space to chip away at whatever you feel like. Making a place to talk, weep, dance, laugh while we carve something beautiful together. Fridays are a good time to try, if someone is in the studio then you are virtually welcome to sit and have a cuppa, what’s on your mind?

Diversify Education and Communities is an organisation primarily focused on celebrating and promoting African and Caribbean Cultures and Traditions, as well as bringing communities together.Caribbean Cultural Awareness Workshop for Schools This session can be delivered either virtually or face to face, it includes a variety of engaging and educational group activities all linked to Caribbean culture and traditions. CAWS was founded in 2012 to bridge the gap left when Leicestershire County Council withdrew their Attendance Improvement Service and its Officers from schools. Since then, CAWS has expanded to providing its services from a handful of schools to over 40 schools. CAWS has at its fingertips, the knowledge and expertise of a qualified Education Welfare Officer with more than 20 years’ experience in relation to education and school attendance. CAWS is a focused, committed and positive company, who provides schools, parents, children and young people with support, advice, and knowledge with regard to attendance and welfare concerns at school. Our overall goal is to ensure that children and young people gain access to education and attend school regularly.

I am fortunate enough to be the Principal of Homefield College and am delighted that you have found your way to our website to explore the many opportunities that the College provides to support people with learning difficulties and / or disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. Homefield College was founded in 1987 as a long-term residential provision for people with learning and communication difficulties. We have since expanded our offering with specialist further education and training, supporting both part-time and full-time day and residential students. The College now offers a range of individualised vocational education programmes based within local communities. All programmes are tailored to the needs of each individual with the starting point being that they feel safe in the environment that they are in. Once this is achieved it allows our staff to work with them to develop and improve their skills to enable them to live more independently once they leave the College. You will see on the website details of the activities that we provide which put together make up a study programme. Our education provision is based upon our belief that young people achieve through experience and this is reflected in the activities provided in our programmes. Students will undertake work experience and we hope that for some of them this will lead to a supported internship. Beyond the education provision, we also offer residential experiences for those who would like to further develop their independent living skills and this can often provide a period of respite for the student’s family. Homefield also provides a range of services for those who remain as part of our lifelong learning provision. These include: long-term residential care, supported work experiences, day services and community enterprises.
