Managing Mountain Bike Trail Facilities: If you are managing a facility or want to learn about the design, build, inspection, and maintenance of mountain bike trails then I am only too happy to help. Through my work with the Association of Trail Builders (ATB) and years of first-hand experience on the job designing, building inspecting, and maintaining trail networks I can deliver ATB training courses in all areas relating to trails and their management. A qualified, experienced Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor, I was born and grew up in Hayfield at the foot of Kinder Scout where the mass trespass paved the way for hillwalking as we know it. My grandfather raced at Le Mans with Rob Lawrie, a boot maker who supplied the Alpine Club expeditions and made boots for Hillary’s ascent of Everest. Given this background, it was inevitable I’d be involved in the outdoors. I love this history but am equally excited about helping future generations and those new to the mountains. I’ve worked in the outdoors since 2006. I believe education and learning is vital and that mountaineering can be a powerful tool to develop people – whether this is a long, life changing journey or simply climbing a single peak as one-off challenge. In addition to working as a Mountain Leader and Instructor my expertise in logistics, planning & project management means I have the capability to deliver highly successful events across a broad range of sectors. I provide logistical & event support services for adventurous activities & challenges to a range of customers including charities, schools, private companies & high net worth individuals. I enjoy a range of outdoor, active sports; hillwalking, skiing, climbing, sailing, cycling (on the road) and swimming in open water. I enjoy introducing the next generation to the outdoors – through the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and supporting primary schools. I’m based in Manchester and work predominantly in the Peak District, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales & Snowdonia, but I am UK mobile.

Matt WEston Matt WEston Education Consultant / Director Matt began his career working in industry using his attention to detail for quality assurance purposes, during this time he passed several courses on risk assessing and auditing. Matt has been involved in training, since early 2000s where he set up and provided training programs for individuals in industry. Since starting a teaching career Matt has trained, coached and provided CPD for both ITT and experienced teachers. Matt is a STEM Learning Facilitator and frequently works for Southampton University and St George’s SLP providing bespoke Chemistry and Teaching & Learning CPD for schools. More recently Matt has been working internationally, consulting with governments, industries and universities to develop national curriculums and schemes in Science, Technolog, Engineering and Maths (STEAM). Matt still enjoys tutoring students at KS3 and GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics helping students achieve a better understanding of the subjects and an increased confidence to apply themselves. One of the biggest comments from students is “thank you for making me believe I can do Science”. Matt has had a love of the outdoors all of his life and his spare time is spent enjoying bushcraft, hiking, canoeing and cycling. Matt has worked closely with BushcraftUK and Forest Knights and his passion is now to combine his love of teaching with his passion for the outdoors so that new generations can be taught relevant content whilst developing important personal skills including communication, leaderships, problem solving, mental health and resilience.

In support of this we acquire, conserve, restore and reconstruct historic computing machinery for preservation, display, demonstration and research. Emphasis is on British computing heritage and on ongoing British contribution to innovation and development. Our distinctive approach is engagement through the display and demonstration of working historic systems. We provide context through active education programmes, festivals, lectures, visitor activities, and interpreted exhibition and interactivity to raise awareness and inspire future generations of computer scientists, engineers and inventors.

We are based on Francis Street, Halifax but we also deliver motor vehicle, welding, manufacturing and engineering courses at our Engineering Centre in Brighouse and Motivate Centre in Halifax. Local Partnerships We have four educational sport partners; Halifax RLFC, Huddersfield Town FC, FC Halifax Town and Bradford Dragons Basketball Club. These partners provide us with coaching and facilities for our Sport Academy students. Engaging with Employers Rise at Calderdale College, the College’s employer services and business arm, works with over 500 companies across the region. Through our projects, we have supported over 3,000 employers and engaged with over 90,000 employed individuals.
