Feelgood Forest Bathing

feelgood forest bathing

We offer online courses in Connecting with Nature for Wellbeing. To be kept informed of future course dates, please register interest here [https://feelgood-forest-bathing.com/register-interest]. Forest Bathing is a modern approach to the ancient Japanese art of Shinrin Yoku - connecting with nature through our senses. We approach nature, we slow down, and we pay close attention to what we are noticing. Research shows it has remarkable benefits for both our mind and body.  It’s rapidly becoming popular worldwide as a powerful way to reduce stress, improve our wellbeing, and to rediscover our relationship with the natural world. Best of all, it’s lots of fun! Our interactive courses offer students weekly activities to practice in their neighbourhood. They can share the journey with their classmates in our online community, and are fully supported by the course creator. By the end of the course they will be independent Forest Bathers, with all the skills they need to continue connecting with nature, and developing their own unique relationship with the natural world, no matter where they live. The course is accredited for CPD (Continuing Professional Development). Students can earn professional Learning Credits, whilst learning the core skills of nature connection to adapt and apply in their own field of work, including education, social and community work, health care and mental health support. English Out There

Jason West is the founder and chief creator of English Out There. He now has almost thirty years of self-employed experience in transformational English language teaching and learning. In 1992, at the age of 25, he co-founded an English language school in the heart of London’s West End and within two and half years the school achieved British Council accreditation (which annoyed a few people!). A long-standing interest in the psychology of learning lead Jason to feel that something could be done to improve the way his students acquired English. As a result he created the English Out There (EOT) course concept, where students engage directly with fluent or native speakers at every stage of their language development. The language laboratory in EOT's case was (and still is) the streets of London and members of the public (recently we have been experimenting successfully with handheld mobile technology and Google+ community pages). A lot of people have helped to create English Out There over the years. The principal EOT lieutenants have been Georgina Moon, Maria Stamati-Knipe and Jonathan Jones whilst Tim Bowen helped edit the materials for publication. After 250,000 hours of teaching and editing English Out There course materials were born. They can be used both offline and on. The online element came out of a fascination with social media and free internet telephony such as Facebook and Skype. An interesting quirk of their design is that they will work with any and all social media platforms, even those not yet invented! The inexpensive DRM-free course materials for students and teachers recently made the EU’s top 10 formal uses of social media for language learning and can be purchased online from this website. English Out There is the only English program we know of that posts 'before and after' audio and video proof of the amazing progress of real students. It is a truly transformational English course because learners who have tried and failed to speak English comfortably for years find that it helps them to break through their personal language barriers. Using just simple file formats and free online social media, allowing teachers to earn money from the use of the content and making it available at an affordable price is important to Jason and the ethos of English Out There (a student's self-study course costs just £9.99 and can change a life because it will teach you how to learn for yourself for free going forward; a teacher's course level, also 20 lessons/60 hours can be printed and taught as much as they like commercially for just £25.00).

Dr. Amanda Bowen Yoga & Retreats

dr. amanda bowen yoga & retreats

Hi there, I am a yoga teacher with a PhD in Metaphysical Science, a certified holistic life coach and spiritual counsellor, an organiser of wellness retreats, a teacher on the global meditation app, Insight Timer and creator of Lovable Yoga Clothing As well as my organic clothing line, I’m proud to be an Independent Consultant for the amazing certified B corporation, Arbonne. Their Mind.Body.Skin products provide clean vegan, cruelty free skincare, beauty and nutrition that has made my life so much easier and my skin clearer! Conscious living is ingrained into me now and allows me to support companies that are not harming the planet and its inhabitants. There is no Planet B! Being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome then post traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety fifteen years ago left me unable to function. I led myself down the holistic route to get my health and, ultimately, my life back, and along the way stepped into my role as a teacher and wellness guide centred around yin yoga. I discovered I have a skill in teaching and happiness in sharing my practice with others. This powerful yet very human journey has so far involved nearly six hundred hours of Yoga Alliance teacher training, including an advanced yin yoga teacher training course and yoga for trauma recovery. My intensive studies have included hatha, ashtanga, vinyasa, yin, yin yang and aerial yoga. Of these, yin yoga was the completing piece of the jigsaw for me. Yin is where my healing finds its natural flow. While I was being treated for depression many years ago, I developed a fascination with how the human brain works and the connection between the mind and body. What my consultant shared with me was incredible, and I needed to know more. This drive to understand more led me into gaining my PhD in Metaphysical Science. The fact that I had gone from being unable to function, to completing a PhD, was beyond any belief I had about myself. I never imagined I would be able to use my brain, and heal my body and mind, to the extent that I have. The intensity and depth of my yoga training and academic studying and the way in which they come together in my sessions has created my unique style of teaching yin yoga. Postures, nurture and calm are combined with the brain science behind the practice and meticulous preparation, bringing wisdom and learning from many different sources into each session. Dr. Amanda Bowen Yoga Instructor Dr. Amanda Bowen Yoga Teacher Counselling on stress management and how to mitigate against the devastating long-term effects it can have is woven into my teaching. I bring healing stillness into people’s lives in order for them to better manage their challenges and find – and enjoy – the balance that is so often missing. My inspirational and educational yoga classes, workshops and worldwide transformational retreats are for everyone.
