Our DS Director, Cara Louise Horsley, took part in the first Para Dance UK IDT Inclusive Dance Remote Training Course earlier this year and we are super excited to put this training into practice, furthering the reach of inclusive dance across London, alongside such a brilliant organisation. At Dance Stables, we pride ourselves in offering classes that everyone can enjoy and this is shown in our DS Mission Statement: Dance Stables provides an open, secure platform for children and adults to explore their creativity, build confidence and share their love for dance and the arts. Hackney Co-operative Developments (HCD) is a local community economic development agency with membership open to all those who subscribe to its cooperative goals and values. HCD works within our local community to explore ideas and opportunities to create a sustainable environment for Hackney's communities to flourish. We support the creation and growth of co-operatives and social enterprises through programmes such as our Pioneering Social Enterprise in Hackney initiative, and use our agency role to network and connect organisations so that the movement can work together to grow the locally-owned social economy in our borough. We provide affordable workspace to a range of social and ethical organisations, local start-ups, cultural entrepreneurs and creative professionals, playing an important role in Hackney's business ecosystem and ongoing urban regeneration. At Gillett Square, we lead on the animation of this unique community-led public space in the heart of Dalston, East London, where an incredibly diverse range of people can meet on common ground. Our programming of community and cultural events plays a key role in the socially cohesive regeneration of this rapidly changing area of Dalston, and at the same time works to retain its diversity and showcase its creativity.

Connectforce Community CIC is a social enterprise building connection, creativity & confidence within marginalised communities through collaboration with our network of artists. Why artists? Artists and performers are trained communicators, brimming with empathy and openness, and Connectforce is passionate about providing an accessible outlet for these skills to have a positive impact on wider society. With a network of over 100 artists, we work with communities to build programmes that best suit their needs. Through one-on-ones, mentoring and group workshops, we bring together artists with people of all ages who would benefit from support. Our story Connectforce was established in May 2020 as a COVID-19 emergency response, seeking to combat the isolation and growing disconnect for UK care home residents. Initially set out to provide the means with which these residents could communicate with their loved ones: donating electronic devices to over 165 of the most critically in-need care homes across the country. Since then, the national and global situation has developed, and Connectforce has grown and adapted; recognising the importance of going much further than the donation of physical resources to get to the root of the profound problem of social isolation within the communities that we work in.

Exhibitions... The Art of Grieving exhibitions enable artists working in any medium to share work related to this issue. This coming together of artist and audience generates new and important human connections around a shared desire to explore the subject of grief and loss. Workshops... The Art of Grieving workshops offer the opportunity to come to a supportive environment to learn new art techniques and create a piece of work either in memory of a loved one, or in contemplation of a loss. The first workshops were held in September/October 2018 and proved to be a great success. Sadly, Covid-19 prevented the workshops planned for Autumn 2020 from going ahead. Shared creativity... The sharing of artwork with an audience can be a valuable part of the bereavement process and encourages communication with those impacted by their work. However, the Art of Grieving is not just for artists. The aim of our exhibitions and workshops is to spark conversation and encourage openness; we hope those who attend will reflect on the creative works and be empowered to speak to others about their thoughts and experiences.
