Three friends, mutual aficionados of outdoor adventures and holistic therapies, took a leap of faith in order create holidays that would restore and transform their guests. With a background in massage therapy, acupuncture, ayurvedic healing and yoga, the trio were well equipped to merge their skills and create adventures unique to the travel and wellbeing industries. Over a decade on, Michelle King has taken the reigns and shaped the offering, ensuring yoga is the beating heart of each adventure, complemented by healthy food, experiential travel and the nurturing sense of community within a group of like minded people.

At age twenty, fate landed me in Perugia, Italy where I ended up for thirteen years. During those years I learned the language, ate, lived and guided thousands of American university students through their semesters abroad. Thus began my near twenty-year career in planning and leading both students and professionals on life-changing journeys around the world. Since then I've had the pleasure and privilege of taking various groups all over Italy, Finland, Mexico, Morocco, Australia, France and both the UK and US. I've also had fun facilitating in-bound professional development tours, having led Vietnamese diplomats around Philadelphia and New York. I have had a front-row seat in witnessing what delights, inspires and speaks to people during their travel adventures.

Learn Travel ExploreEduTravel is a wholly Canadian owned and operated tour provider founded on the concept of experiential learning. Our mission is to provide Canadian students with a safe, fun and engaging learning experience outside of the classroom. In partnership with Ontario school boards and private schools, our innovative programs provide students with the opportunity to travel locally and internationally while earning a wide variety of Ontario secondary school credits. Credits are issued through our education partners, and teachers are Ontario certified and trained in Experiential Learning techniques. All travel services and experiential curriculum are provided by the education experts at EduTravel Inc. Our programs enrich the learning experience for all students by offering engaging, experiential and affordable opportunities for students. The objective of our programs is to enrich the curriculum content being delivered and to create academic pathways to post-secondary institutions, while allowing students the structured independence of traveling with friends with equity and accessibility as key goals.

Kinship carers are people raising relatives or friends’ children who would otherwise need to enter the care system. Since Special Guardianship Orders were introduced in 2005, Local Authorities have increasingly chosen to place children with friends and family as an alternative to adoption and long term fostering. Kinship care has now become the main route out of care for children in England, overtaking adoption. There are approximately 200,000 kinship families in the UK, though the actual number is likely to be much higher. Despite the growing number of officially recognized kinship families, this has not gone hand in hand with increased levels of support. Kinship carers are expected to parent traumatized children with little or no preparation or support, and often have no access to the services that are normally available to foster carers and adopters. Recent data indicates that Covid-19 has disproportionately affected kinship carers; most have been unable to shield, even when vulnerable, and they have not been prioritized in vaccination and other support programs.
