Principal Consultant and Founder - Simon Barnard Simon BarnardSimon has more than thirty years experience teaching and consulting in Innovation, New Product Development and Quality Improvement. An Electronics engineer by training, he spent his early career working on automotive and aerospace control systems for Lucas Research. In 1987 he was trained by Shin Taguchi(of ASI) in Taguchi Methods and was subsequently involved in its implementation within Lucas. He took the opportunity to bring Taguchi Methods to a wider audience by joining ASI in 1989 and quickly expanded his training portfolio into QFD and other Continuous Improvement areas. In 1996 he was trained by TRIZ Master Victor Fey and more recently successfully achieved MATRIZ level 3 certification, following extensive coaching by TRIZ Master Sergei Ikovenko. With colleague Ray Greenall they built up a successful Six Sigma training business that was taken over by BSI Management Systems in 2006. Simon left BSI in 2007 to establish SCB Associates Ltd. Tracy Benton MDPF has been in the industry for over 25 years; after passing basic floristry qualifications she started up her own business whilst raising her two children. Once they started in full time education, Tracy went back to college and after that there was no stopping her! She achieved the L3 Advanced National Certificate in Floristry, L4 Higher Diploma in Floristry and the Certificate in Education within 5 years whilst running her own retail florist shop in Kent. Tracy then completed the Master Diploma in January 2014; the highest qualification you can receive in the UK with Distinction and also received the highest grade throughout the UK for the practical exam. Furthermore, She also attends numerous CPD courses to ensure she retains her position in the industry. We support parents with aspirations for their teenagers – those who want to gain admission to top universities. We help to improve Exam Grades in Core Academic subjects at GCSE and A-level. On average, our students are performing at around a B grade in school before they join us; within a year, they improve by about two grade points. Our main programmes are: Saturday School during term time and Intensive Revision during school holidays. We also have flexible unit-based learning and the premium Consultation Tuition (one-to-one by a top consultant teacher). At the start of the pandemic, we temporarily moved online but we have now opened our centres again for in-person teaching; however, we still run separate online lessons for those who prefers online. Our centres are now open for in-person teaching at: St James School, Kensington Olympia and Trinity School in East Croydon*. We cover the core academic subjects of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at both GCSE and A-level. In addition to all the above, we also provide for Further Maths, Economics, History and Psychology at A-level. Martin has an degree in agriculture from Wye College, University of London. He then taught for 16 years at Writtle College specialising in financial management, agricultural trade, EU policy and business strategy. Martin also established a series of projects to link the College with other EU states to facilitate staff and student exchange, joint course delivery and the delivery of EU funded projects. He has taught short courses in Finland, the Netherlands and Romania. He continues to work closely with the education sector and now gives guest lectures on food markets and policy at the National Centre for Food Manufacturing at the University of Lincoln. Martin co-founded an import business in 1990 which he sold in 1999 and was a partner in the family farm J A Collison and Sons from 1994-2008 which supplies cut flowers to supermarkets. He founded Collison and Associates with Lynn in 2002, having been a consultant since 2000. His clients have included a wide range of commercial, public and third sector bodies and he specializes in developing strategies, projects and programmes to deliver change in rural areas. During 2012-13 Martin worked alongside the team developing the UK Agri-Tech Strategy. Martin is a member of: Greater Lincolnshire Food Board, Greater Lincolnshire Water Management Board, Norfolk Rural Development Strategy delivery group and the CLA’s Agriculture and Land Use Committee. I am a therapeutic consultant, trainer, play therapist and supervisor who has worked across a variety of settings for over thirty years. I am able to offer a range of services and strategies to support children, families and the staff who work with them to make positive changes in their lives. I have worked as a therapeutic consultant across seven schools in Manchester, Derbyshire and Tameside since September 2010 providing play therapy, group work, staff training staff and head teacher consultation, parent consultations and parent child sessions. Along side this work I have published several articles and also written three books Understanding and Managing Children’s Behaviour Ages 3-5: A child-centred group work programme published by routledge on 5th April 2016 Understanding and Managing Children’s Behaviour Ages 7-11: A child-centred group work programme published by routledge on 7th May 2013 and Understanding and Managing Children’s Behaviour Ages 5-7: A child-centred group work programme published by routledge on 16th November 2014 I also provide individual supervision for qualified play therapists, art therapists and drama therapists.
