In 2015, with a mission, passion and dedication to empower business owners, managers, entrepreneurs, staff and individuals with high quality education, training and professional development on both a local and national scale - Safe Hearts Training Ltd was established by Sherry Diaz-Thompson. Having witnessed first-hand the devastation that underlying illnesses, workplace-related injuries, accidents and other diseases can cause, Sherry wanted to help, in fact she needed to help and make an impact by providing impactful training that is different, focused on companies and individuals needs whilst using all the experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and expertise of carefully selected qualified instructors to help make a difference to people's lives – giving them the confidence they needed to take action when emergency may strike. This is extremely personal and important to Sherry because at 19 years old she was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), an inherited condition affecting the red blood cell and various organs in the body, which causes severe pain and hospitalisation. Without treatment, people with SCD may die in childhood but, even with treatment, it can still cause serious or life-threatening problems. Sherry firmly believes that the more people train, the better it is for individuals, families, workplaces, communities, healthcare and the social care sector. As there is a known chain reaction that happens when health or safety incidents strike – it affects everyone! Safe hearts training a registered training provider we run various BLS, ILS, PILS, AED, Medical Emergencies, Infection Control, Health and Safety and Safeguarding Courses to dental and healthcare professionals, businesses and individuals across the UK; providing training solutions that comply with current UK and International legislation.. At Fight for Peace young people make friends, get fit, and develop their interests, skills, and confidence. Our aim is to ensure young people achieve their full potential in life, and we welcome any young person from our communities aged 7-25 years old. We embrace the power of sport for the life lessons it teaches, such as resilience and discipline, as well as improved health and wellbeing. And we combine this with one-to-one mentoring conversations with qualified youth workers, personal development sessions, and education and employability support. Young leaders also shape our services, being part of staff recruitment and strategy development, producing communications, and progressing to employed roles as ‘Next Gen’ staff. We support around 500 young people per year at our Academy in east London and, in order to reach as many young people as possible, we train and work with like minded community partners across the UK and the world - something we call the Fight for Peace Alliance. We also coordinate Collectives in east London and Jamaica to bring together diverse partners from across communities in support of young people. Our preschool dance syllabus has been carefully designed to ensure each child is taught the principles of ballet and tap at the right developmental level while boosting confidence, and of course having lots of fun. Our programme fits well within the UK Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, with our classes providing the opportunity for babies and young children to learn and develop key life skills in a healthy and safe environment. When signing your child up for a three-week trial, you will need to ensure they are within the age parameters outlined for each stage. If in doubt, please start in the lower age group to begin with as your teacher will liaise with you should your child need to move up a stage. After registering, you will be sent an enrolment email full of information that will let you know what to expect. Please allow up to 48 hours to receive this email and double check your junk or spam folder! Following the introductory trial, you will receive an email containing all the details you need to continue with our classes and become a babyballet member. Along with term dates and information about how to make future payments to secure your place, you will be sent an invoice for the remaining weeks in the current term plus your one off babyballet membership fee. With a network of over 100 artists, we work with communities to build programmes that best suit their needs. Through one-on-ones, mentoring and group workshops, we bring together artists with people of all ages who would benefit from support. Our story Connectforce was established in May 2020 as a COVID-19 emergency response, seeking to combat the isolation and growing disconnect for UK care home residents. Initially set out to provide the means with which these residents could communicate with their loved ones: donating electronic devices to over 165 of the most critically in-need care homes across the country. Since then, the national and global situation has developed, and Connectforce has grown and adapted; recognising the importance of going much further than the donation of physical resources to get to the root of the profound problem of social isolation within the communities that we work in.
