It caters for learners aged 13-16 that find traditional school settings problematic and find learning through vocational activities beneficial. As a result, pupils engage in learning and make good gains in their progress and development.” The school’s “approach is re-building pupils’ broken understanding of how to be successful in society. Staff are skilful in nurturing and supporting pupils’ social and emotional needs.“ For the full report open the link in the Ofsted section at the top of this page. Poynton

An independent art studio where artists of all ages can develop their creativity and gain self-confidence through visual art. Join our email list > "My daughter is enjoying art class very much and thus I am happy and satisfied. :) She actually said it helped her calm down on a day where she had gotten angry with her brother - now that's some good stuff! Thank you for inspiring them, and for all that you do!" Kyrie Shomaker, MD When she was a little girl, Melanie Cramer wanted to be an artist/ballerina/teacher/mommy. Apparently "ballerina" was code for business owner because now she teaches art in her own studio. Her path included earning an art degree from High Point College (now university), many years spent as an art director for print media, and many more teaching preschool locally. She founded Outside the Lines Art Studio in 2011 to share her belief in the transformative power of visual art with her community. Meet the Owner: Melanie Cramer IMG_2835.jpg At Outside the Lines Art Studio, we believe the process of creating is far more valuable that the resulting creation. An artist who has spent time exploring an art medium thoroughly may or may not produce a masterpiece worthy of professional framing and prominent display, but they will certainly produce something they are proud of, independent of others’ opinions. They will have expressed themselves to their own satisfaction. They will have experienced something new and learned from it. They will feel more self-assured and confident. Those are products you can’t hang on the wall, or even the fridge.

Jess Hindley

Fallowfield

My name is Jess Hindley and I'm a Fitness, Dance Performance and Mindset Coach from Manchester in the UK. I am a Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Consultant, with experience teaching both online and in-person workshops with clients from all over the world. My passion for fitness and mindset stems from my journey through the world of Irish dance where I competed for 20 years from the age of 6 to 26, then went on to perform professionally with the World-renowned show Riverdance. My dreams as a young dancer were always to become a World Champion and to perform with Riverdance. There were many times when I thought my dreams were not in reach, and it was only with the help of incredible teachers and mindset coaches that I found the confidence to believe in myself as a dancer and a person. After 19 years, I was finally crowned World Champion in 2018 and in the same year performed with Riverdance for Pope Francis at Croke Park in front of 80,000 people. Since then I retained my World title in 2019 and went on to perform with Riverdance in Singapore, Ireland and the UK before our 25th anniversary tour was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Like many people, I found navigating the pandemic very difficult but turned to my passion for fitness for a new goal to strive for. After many cancelled practical sessions and challenges relating to Covid-19, I was so excited to qualify as a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Nutrition Consultant in early 2022. My goal is to pass on everything I've learned both through my qualifications and my many years experience in a competitive and professional dance setting. I hope I can make a difference to my clients' lives just as my teachers and mentors did for me.

Create Learning Trust

create learning trust

London

In education, teachers often refer to a moment when they see something ‘click’ for a child; the exact moment where a concept is understood, an imagination is lit or an idea is formed. Create Learning Trust is a network of academies committed to giving children and young people moments like that in their education. We embrace innovation, share best practice and shape opportunities; creating an environment that sparks and ignites the talents and interests of our staff and students. To achieve this, every member of our community is committed to: Working together to provide the best quality of education Encouraging innovation, self-belief and confidence Acting with a moral purpose and with integrity Our Principles After looking at the strengths of our schools, and reviewing number of successful MATs, as well as analysing issues for MATs who have faced difficulties, Trustees have created a list of principles that will underpin the trust. The trust will be made up of Trustees who know our schools and our communities and/or have specialist skillsets Every academy will retain a Local Governing Body and as much responsibility as possible will be delegated to them Each school will retain its own individual identity and ethos. We want Create Learning Trust to be the sum of different, complementary parts, that work together to create a strong and supportive environment We will, however, look to share ideas and best practice to reduce teacher workload and embrace innovation Our Trust is committed to supporting and recognising the contribution of all staff make, and is focused on job retention and creation We will be innovative in how we ensure we get value for money from contracts and also, in the future, generate income to support our schools. The focus will always be on how we can invest our resources to maximise the benefits for our pupils.

Timperley

JOHN CASHIN A* TUITION is a well established tutoring business, permanently based at Timperley Community Centre, Altrincham, specialising in KS1 and KS2 Maths and English; tutoring children from the ages of 5 to 11. All tuition is one-to-one private with all abilities catered for and tailored to each child’s individual needs. Grammar school entrance exam preparation plays a major role in the business, including Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning, mock exams, etc. John Cashin says: “Although many parents enrol their children for tuition in either Yr. 4 or 5, it really is never too early to begin and I am delighted when parents of younger children enrol them for tuition. This is because almost all children develop gaps in their understanding of school work which, if not promptly addressed, can grow year-on-year into more significant problems. I see many children who, had they been brought to me for tutoring at an earlier stage in their education, could have achieved so much more. The good news is that, if these problems are “nipped in the bud,” they can invariably be eliminated, giving the child a distinct advantage. Also, a good understanding of the curriculum can play an important role in alleviating frustrations which, if left unaddressed, often give rise to behavioural problems. There is no substitute for personal time spent with an experienced tutor. The children appreciate the opportunity to ask me about things they have not grasped at school and their confidence, ability and enthusiasm increases exponentially as they see the benefits for themselves. Whatever a child’s level of ability, it can be reinforced and developed – and we really do see some very rewarding transformations. Even if your child attends a private prep school, this is no guarantee of success and you would be well advised to seek the services of a good tutor. For example, the father of a Yr. 4 boy who attends one such school, remarked to me recently, after attending parents’ evening at his son’s school: “Looking at his school books, you can draw a line at the point when he started at John Cashin Tuition – the improvement is that evident!” This is typical of the comments we receive from parents.
