Learning Pool was founded in 2006 to bring online learning into organisations in a collaborative way. Originally focused on sharing online learning content amongst government bodies, we took that concept and built out the offer to enable performance improvement and modernisation. We’ve always had a healthy obsession with delivering value for money which led us to engage strongly in open source projects that deliver real benefit outside of Learning Pool and provide leading-edge innovation at a reasonable price. For example, Learning Locker is the world’s only xAPI compliant, open source Learning Record Store and we’re a founding member of the Adapt open source framework that brought responsive elearning to the whole industry. We’ve come a long way since 2006, but we’re only just getting started. We take our responsibility to make the world a better place seriously and we’re proud of the culture we’ve created inside Learning Pool and with our customers. Scottish Music Therapy Trust

The Scottish Music Therapy Trust is run by a team of volunteers students, music therapists, academics and other professionals dedicated to promoting music therapy. If you are interested in joining the team and becoming a trustee, please get in touch via our Contact page. Chair: David Jones David is not a Music Therapist! He is a keen amateur musician with a background in disability awareness. He has sat on a number of committees advising both the public and private sector on how best to support the needs of the disabled community, not only in Scotland but throughout Europe. The SMTT allows him to combine these interests in music and in disability. Trustee: Dr Philippa Derrington Philippa is a Music Therapist and Programme Leader of the MSc Music Therapy at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Trustee: Duncan Campbell Duncan is an Edinburgh based Music Therapist, having graduated from the MSc Music Therapy course at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, in 2018. He has clinical experience of working with adults and children with learning disabilities, ASD, mental health and also working with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. Currently Duncan is working full time within NHS Lothian’s CAMHS. Trustee: Nadine Allan Nadine is a registered Music Therapist who graduated from the MSc Music Therapy course at Queen Margaret University in 2020. She is currently working with ELM Music Therapy in Aberdeen and the shire. Nadine has clinical experience of working with children, adolescents and adults with additional support needs and mental health difficulties. She is currently working mainly with children who have profound multiple learning disabilities in schools, as well as co-running a Sing and Sign group. Trustee: Hannah Quigley Hannah is a student on the MSc Music Therapy Course at Queen Margaret University. Before beginning the course in September 2021, she studied Music at the University of Edinburgh where she gained experience delivering community music workshops in schools, mainly for children with additional support needs. Trustee: Tilly Mütter Tilly is a student on the MSc Music Therapy Course at Queen Margaret University. After completing her undergrad in Canterbury she became the Music Lead at The Sunflower Federation Schools in Hertfordshire; for students with additional needs and profound multiple learning disabilities, where she used music to help improve the student’s individual targets.

Isle of Arran

The popular introductory Herbal Correspondence Course is now run from our herb farm on the Isle of Arran and is an excellent intro if you are interested in treating yourself or your family and also for aspiring herbal students who can use it as an access course for University entrance and to see if the profession is for them. If you decide to enrol Keith Robertson MSc. F.NIMH will be your tutor for your assignments and he has over 30 years experience in the field. We also provide regular practical Herbal Medicine classes on Arran offering herb walks, plant ID, medicine making, botanical drawing etc and these form part of our new apprenticeship programme or they can be booked separately. This site remains an archive for the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine which was founded in 1992 by Medical Herbalists Maureen and Keith Robertson F.NIMH. It rose to almost mythical status as the world’s leading School for teaching a holistic balance of traditional and modern Herbal Medicine and importantly championing an energetic approach to treatment. The School had a world first with its M.Sc. programme and many of today's practitioners benefited from its 4 year B.Sc. programme. Being externally validated rather than being part of the mainstream University system gave us the autonomy to develop courses with real heart (we developed ground breaking research methodologies such as Goethean/Contemplative Science and promoted, for instance, case series research) but in the end, as a small educational charity, we were competing at the height with 7 other Universities!! The market was essentially flooded by 3 year courses and when the recession bit student numbers dropped and we were the 3rd U.K. degree programme to have to close its doors. Intake for the Massage and Aromatherapy courses also ceased. Perhaps however, the School had achieved its main objective – to equip the world with a sizeable number of top graduates who carry traditional and modern Herbal wisdom within a working energetic framework.
