Dr Jeff Hardy has over 20 years of academic, policy and business experience in sustainable energy. He has helped clients worldwide understand the implications of zero carbon futures on business models and strategy, consumers, customers and citizens, policy and regulatory frameworks and energy systems.  Jeff is the Director of Sustainable Energy Futures Ltd, a consultancy providing clients with zero-carbon energy transformation advice, analysis and challenge. He is also Deputy Chair of the UK Power Networks Customer Engagement Group and a visiting researcher at the Grantham Institute at Imperial College London. Previously he was a Non-Executive Director of Public Power Solutions, Environment Mission Lead at Zinc, Head of Sustainable Energy Futures at the GB energy regulator, Ofgem and Head of Science for Work Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He’s also worked at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the UK Energy Research Centre, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Green Chemistry Group at the University of York and at Sellafield as a research chemist in a nuclear laboratory.

These unique learning opportunities are available through the collective expertise of a team of artists with extensive experience of delivering art workshops in and around Kent, connecting groups to natural and urban environments across a range of arts disciplines. Our activities also focus on the rapidly advancing impacts of climate change and we are proud to have joined Culture Declares. We are printmakers, painters, writers, textile artists, photographers, film-makers, sculptors, craftspeople, ceramicists, and sound artists. Outdoor Studios provide Full, Half Day and Bespoke workshops and activities, and accept Commissions. Get in touch to talk to us about artist-led workshops and programmes, either at your school, workplace, community centre, a natural or historic site, or our regular haunts – King’s Wood Ashford, Oare Gunpowder Works in Faversham, and Milton Creek Country Park in Sittingbourne. Extinction Rebellion York (XR York) is part of the international environmental pressure group Extinction Rebellion. . We use non-violent direct action and civil disobedience to urge decision makers and leaders to act now to reduce the impact of climate change. Our campaigns led to the City of York Council declaring a climate emergency in 2019 and pledging to reach Net Zero by 2030. We have 3 key demands: Tell the Truth: The government must declare a climate emergency. Act Now: The government needs to act now to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to Net Zero by 2025. Beyond Politics: The government should create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice. Our core principles include non-violence, building a regenerative culture, challenging the toxic system we live in, breaking down power hierarchies, and achieving climate justice.

Zero Waste Scotland exists to lead Scotland to use products and resources responsibly, focusing on where we can have the greatest impact on climate change. Using evidence and insight, our goal is to inform policy, and motivate individuals and businesses to embrace the environmental, economic, and social benefits of a circular economy. We are a not-for-profit environmental organisation, funded by the Scottish Government and European Regional Development Fund. Our structure As a company limited by guarantee, Zero Waste Scotland’s board is comprised of six non-executive directors, one of whom is the chair, and one executive director, who is the chief executive officer. Company membership includes Scottish ministers alongside our non-executive directors. How we are funded We are funded by the Scottish Government and receive funding from the European Structural Funds Programme to help accelerate our circular economy and resource efficiency work with SMEs in Scotland. As a publicly-funded organisation, we are accountable for what we do and we want to lead by example. This is why we publish copies of our financial and environmental performance.

Leeds Sanctuary is a network of communities in Leeds City Centre, that each begin with encounter and embody sanctuary and justice, through which individuals and the city flourish in the ways of God’s Kingdom. We are exploring craftivism, meditation, mindfulness, climate change, wellbeing, Christian spirituality and much more. We create free mindfulness, meditation and craftivist resources, which are available on our blog. We also run in person events on these themes as well as wellbeing sessions for different groups. About Sound Matters was founded in 2014, following a series of conversations between Mike Edwards (climate change and sustainability expert) and Harry Coade (music producer and soundscape recordist). These conversations, which took place in London pubs, cafes and galleries, were focused on how sound and listening could be used to create more sustainable and resilient futures. Mike and Harry discovered a unique and deep synergy between their disparate areas of expertise and began to further explore how they could apply this knowledge and insight. After delivering a series of lectures at leading universities in London, Mike and Harry began working on a number of global research initiatives, and academic courses, which were designed to discover more about how sound and listening could be used to understand the political, social, economic and environmental systems shaping the world. They also began working with a number of corporate clients who were looking for new ways of engaging their staff and stakeholders with the importance of creating business practices which were sustainable for both people and planet. From humble beginnings, Sound Matters has grown into an organisation which is widely acknowledged as a global leader in the use of sound and the art of listening to help individuals and organisations understand, and help solve, the most fundamental challenges facing the world. Sound Matters has a clear mission which is to create a universal culture of listening whereby every individual and organisation can access the power of sound and listening to create a better world.
