I’m Emily, the founder of Giggling Panda Chinese School, we started our exciting journey of creating the best Chinese school in 2015. As the name suggest, Giggling Panda is a happy school, where our creative teachers give our pupils the best Chinese language education surrounded with endless fun. We strongly believe curiosity and fun are the best motivation for children to learn anything, our teachers are magicians, they take our pupils onto a journey full of fascinating stories and knowledge that excite them all the time. Our philosophy is to teach language in a completely different way. In our opinion, learning a new language shouldn’t be boring or dry as sawdust, instead, it should be colourful, dynamic, and full of excitement. Children are always intrigued by the interesting facts and knowledge, and using a different language in getting access to those knowledge is the ultimate goal we have in Giggling Panda. We live in a completely new world now, the old-style learning has a lot of limitations, and we want to remove those limitations, so the bright young minds can be better fed. We constantly ask ourselves to relentlessly focus on customer service, just like the children deserve the best education, our parents deserve the best customer service. We put a lot of energy on building a community where our parents not only able to send their children for the best education, but also feel being part of a big family where they can get a lot of additional information and support. We will continue to work with other education institutions to create a centre of excellence for creative skills, and this will always be written in our mission. We celebrate culture diversity, our children come from different social background, and everyone should be proud of their own culture, the soil we provide at Giggling Panda is not only for our pupils to show their individual talent but also to be the little ambassadors of their own community. Welcome to our Outstanding Chinese Academic School It is our pleasure to welcome new and returning students to Hua Hsia in 2022. We hope you have all had a lovely summer! As always during these summer months, we take a step back to unwind and relax while awaiting the GCSE and Pre-U results of our students who have worked tirelessly to secure themselves top grades. The good news arrived earlier this week and we are delighted to announce this year’s cohort achieved outstanding GCSE and Pre-U results! Our GCSE group, made up of 10 students (7 in class and 3 private), achieved nine 9 grades (highest possible grade, akin to an A*) and one 8 grade. This keeps us in line with our 100% grade 8-9 track record and even gives us a 90% grade 9 achievement rate. Our Pre U group, made up of 3 students (all in class), achieved 2 Distinctions and 1 Merit. These brilliant outcomes are well deserved and are a testament to both the talent and dedication of pupils and staff, and to the quality of education maintained throughout the last two-and-a-half years even with all the speed bumps along the way. A very special thanks to Teachers Katja, Nicole, and Joseph for supporting students to unlock their full potential. The return of public exams has given the students the opportunity to clearly demonstrate the fruits of their continued hard work and focus during the challenges of the pandemic, especially in a period where nationally pupils were being warned of lower grades. Thankfully, things here have since rebounded as strongly as ever, with these pupils, and the School as a whole, able to look forward with optimism to what comes next. We look forward to seeing you all on the 10th and 11th of September, as we reopen our doors for another academic year.

Founded in 2006, Real Chinese Academy has been working towards all-around “student development, teacher development and school development”, upholding the principle of “quality-first”, and implementing the philosophy of integrating cultural awareness into language learning. In the past decade or so, we have enabled many students to acquire a broad knowledge of Chinese culture, and practical skills of using the Chinese language. At the same time, our team of dedicated teachers have raised their professionalism to a new level. Real Chinese Academy is going from strength to strength. To ensure high-quality teaching results, we group students based on their age, level of Chinese language and family background (native/non-native Chinese speaker). Wechat and WhatsApp chat groups for parents are created to strengthen parent-teacher communications. In addition, English actress Helen Hobson teaches our Public Speaking course, and dozens of students have achieved excellent results in LAMDA exams which lay the foundation for all-round development of students. Headmistress Ms. Zoe Xu, originally from Beijing, is a mother of two. She is well versed in the comparative research of Chinese and British education as well as family education. In the last two decades, she has written books related to education such as Please Don’t Do This to Your Children, Chinese Orphans and Their Foreign Parents, Alternative Route to Development, Ten Skills That Affect Your Child’s Fortune. All the titles are published in mainland China. Real Chinese is growing! From only six pupils at the very beginning for Mandarin only, we’ve grown to be two hundred strong. Every year some of our students take GCSE Chinese and each of them achieved A* grade. Real Chinese have developed from simple teaching to a broader field of education. The school has found a successful way of managing the Chinese language education as the core while valuing all-around education. The road ahead will be long and rugged, yet we shall search high and low, for the benefit of the community and the promotion of the Chinese language and culture.
