The Young Carers Development Trust was established in 2012 by a small group of Trustees. The Trustees’ vision has been shaped by their practical experience as senior executives in industrial, commercial and professional organisations and also by the success of the Rank Foundation’s School Leadership Award scheme, founded in 1978. The Trustees believe their overall objective of improving the life chances of young carers will be achieved by establishing and continually developing a network of high-achieving young carers, willing to become active and inspiring role models for others from backgrounds similar to their own. The strategy is to assist and support young carers who are providing a ‘significant level of care’ for a disabled or seriously ill family member.

central football academy

Central Football Academy are based in Grangemouth, Central Scotland. Founded in 2014 as a girls only football club, we opened our boys section in 2015. We have over 175 registered players at the club within both Girls and Boys junior sections as well as our Senior Womens Team. Most teams train twice a week with a fixture usually once a week. Central Football Academy are a SFA Quality Mark Gold Level club. Since inception we have enjoyed great success, winning many titles and have had a multitude of players represent Scotland at various levels, on countless occasions. Inchyra Park in Grangemouth is our home ground. This is where the majority of our team matches and training takes place. Our Senior linked Womens Team play their home matches at Broadwood Stadium (Home of Clyde F.C.) in Cumbernauld. They play in the Scottish Womens Football Championship (3rd tier of womens football). We play our home matches in Cyan and our Senior team play their away matches in white. Our Match-day programme is called ‘View from the Centre’. Since our formation we have been given many affectionate nicknames, but we are most commonly known as “Central” or “The Cyan”. At Central, we have a clear ethos based on equality for all and encourage youth to develop within their own style and most importantly – enjoy playing football, playing with their creativity and as part of a team. We always endeavour to instill belief and confidence in our youth and from the start our motto has been “Imagine…Believe… Achieve…”. Commitment is an essential discipline at Central Football Academy. We at coaching level will give the player, team & academy our full commitment and we expect the same from our players and parents. We are not part of your journey, Central is the journey.

the green school for girls

The Green School for Girls began as an elementary school but in 1904 the trustees determined to conduct it as a Secondary School for Girls. Henry George seventh Duke of Northumberland, K.G., erected this building and let it to the Trustees for this purpose. It was opened on the 16th January 1906 and the current location of Busch corner. It was originally built on one floor being able to accommodate 120 girls. On July 16th 1934 the new buildings were dedicated by the Right Reverend the Bishop of Kensington and ceremonially opened by Her Grace the Duchess of Northumberland. During the year of 1940 the school suffered bomb damage on 3 separate occasions. In 1951 the rebuilt school was opened and has continued to enlarge.

Our club provides gymnastics classes for boys & girls of all abilities. We are affiliated to Leicestershire Gymnastics Association, East Midlands Gymnastics Association & British Gymnastics. We are ‘Club Mark’ affiliated, meaning we are able to demonstrate we provide gymnastics training in a safe, friendly and effective environment.
