The organisation was set up in 2000 as an independent charity to run a community facility. Since then it has gone from strength to strength by expanding the space available for activities and delivering its own services such as childcare, adult learning health and well-being projects. Outline below is our story: 1999 - In 1999, with the closure and demolition of the Foundry Street youth club, a meeting was held by representatives of local Ravensthorpe based community groups about the possibility of acquiring a building for general community use. After many meetings and discussions between them and Kirklees Council, it was agreed that if representatives could come together to form a group, Kirklees Council would support them in acquiring and running a community building through available European SRB Grant funding. With St Johns Ambulance Centre looking for new premises their building came up for sale, it was purchased by the newly formed group in 1999 and renamed as the Ravensthorpe Community Centre. 2000 - The building underwent a series of alterations to make it more suitable for use as a community centre, the building had disabled ramps put in and the rooms were changed to make then suitable for community use. In May 2000 the building was officially opened by Mayor of Kirkless. The building subsequently became very popular with regular users such as a wide range of community groups, the local further education college holding learning classes and a local provider delivering crèche facilities.

CK9 Training is run by Chantal Karyta BSc. (Hons), Dip CABT. Chantal has always had a keen interest in dogs having worked in boarding kennels, a dog rescue centre and a large dog training and behaviour centre in Surrey before setting up her own company. Qualifications: BSc. (Hons) in Psychology COAPE Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling, therefore a member of the COAPE Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (MAPDT 1068) Member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) Scentwork UK trainer Chantal is also a trainer for Dog AID (Assistance In Disability), Registered Charity Number 1098619, a national voluntary organisation which provides specialised training for people with physical disabilities who wish to train their own pet dog, some up to Assistance Level. Chantal offers dog training and puppy training in Dorking, Ewell, Leatherhead and many other locations in Greater London and Surrey. It is a discipline that is constantly adapting and to keep up to date with new methods and techniques, Chantal regularly attends lectures and seminars by internationally renowned dog trainers and behaviourists such as Ken Ramirez, Emily Larlham and Kay Laurence. Chantal currently owns four dogs, a Border Collie and three Shelties. Chantal has competed at Olympia, won at Crufts, and has represented Team England in the World Agility Open and Team GB at the FCI Agility World Championships. She has also recently qualified to compete at IFCS with one of her Shelties.

We support schools and communities, locally and internationally, to nurture values and critical thinking skills needed to promote personal, local and global change. We have over 30 years of experience collaborating with organisations, teachers, youth workers and community educators to make sense of a complex and rapidly changing world. The learning methodologies that lie at the centre of our approach always: Produce a more outward looking mindset through exposure to global contexts and multiple perspectives. Develop creative and critical thinking. Increase self-awareness through reflexive questioning of values and ideas. Give the confidence and skills to take positive action.

The Bishop's Palace, Wells, SomersetThe site and buildings of The Bishop’s Palace and Gardens is owned by the Church Commissioners and operated by The Palace Trust, a registered charity which manages the site as a heritage visitor attraction. Our Purpose As stewards of this beautiful and historic place, our primary purpose is “to conserve The Bishop’s Palace and its story as a place of enjoyment and reflection for the benefit of all”. Our Vision To inspire and touch the lives of many by offering joy, healing, hope and wellbeing. Our Legacy The Palace Trust gets no statutory funding. The cost of maintaining the Palace is met entirely by grants from organisations like the National Lottery and Charitable Trusts, by Admission tickets, special events and our café. But this does not cover the entire cost of everyday maintenance, so donations to this aspect of our work are also always welcome. Likewise, the cost of conservation work cannot be met by admission fees etc. so we rely on voluntary donations to finance this aspect of our work. The annual costs vary between £400,000 and £500,000. So, this is an area where we welcome donations – large or small, regular or one-off – to enable us to carry out this vital work. Here in the Purbeck Workshop, we are a registered charity (no. 1161110) based in Wool, Dorset and we are dedicated to providing creative escapes to anyone whose life has been touched by cancer. Our relaxing and supportive workshop provides FREE activities and events throughout the year, where you can meet other people, carers and family members, who have all been affected by cancer. For us, it's not about you mastering new craft skills. It's about you taking some valuable time out, having fun and engaging with your creative self. We'll aim to take your mind off the worries and fears that cancer can bring, just for a couple of hours. If you have had a recent or previous diagnosis, if you have been bereaved through cancer or you are a family member or carer in need of a creative escape, you are all very welcome to attend our workshop. We are based a short walk from Wool Station, with off-street parking and disability accessible facilities including a lift for a wheelchair.

Families Outside is the only national charity in Scotland working exclusively on behalf of families affected by imprisonment. We speak to thousands of families each year, providing information and support on issues such as housing, finance, and emotional support. Our Helpline, 0800 254 0088, provides impartial information and support and is often the first port of call for families looking for help. If family members require more in-depth support, our Regional Family Support team is on hand throughout Scotland and can offer direct, 1:1 support until a positive outcome is reached.Families Outside Who we Are What we do Front Cover Our booklet entitled Who We Are & What We Do summarises the work of Families Outside and why we believe that it is so important. Click on the booklet to read more. We also provide tools, resources, and training to those individuals and groups who come into contact with families affected by imprisonment. From prison staff and social workers to health care professionals and teachers, our bespoke training sessions increase the awareness of the issues and challenges faced by families and ensure that they continue receive the support they need.

Bethlem Gallery is a visual arts organisation in south-east London. We programme creative activities, projects and commissions to participate in, look at, talk and think about. Based at Bethlem Royal Hospital, Beckenham, and working across South London and the UK, we support the professional development and socially engaged practice of our artists, many of whom have experienced mental health services. We bridge communities, aiming to make art an everyday practice and mental health an everyday conversation. Our programme includes collaborations with other cultural and health organisations including Bethlem Museum of the Mind, with whom we share a building, artists-in-residence, and interdisciplinary research. We engage audiences in learning and debate on the subject of mental health and artistic practice. We are a charity founded in 1997. As well as working in our gallery and studio space at Bethlem Royal Hospital, we programme exhibitions at the Long Gallery at Maudsley Hospital and the ORTUS conferencing centre, and commission new public artworks. “Pills are ok, counselling is ok and it will get you back on the streets, but what keeps your mind alive is what you learn here.
