The HSA is an independent registered charity, founded in 1911. It is the only UK charity concerned exclusively in the promotion of the humane treatment of all food animals worldwide in markets, during transport, at slaughter, and killing for welfare reasons and disease control. Growing numbers of people are interested and concerned about the welfare of the animals that provide them with food and the HSA has gained an international reputation for providing practical, science-based solutions to improve food animal welfare. The objectives of the HSA are: The promotion of humane methods of slaughter; The introduction of reforms in livestock markets (including transport facilities) where needed to prevent the suffering of animals. The HSA works to achieve these through providing: Technical information and advice on all aspects of animal handling, transport and slaughter. Training and education in humane methods of handling and slaughter of livestock for farmers, vets, abattoir staff and students. Technical and educational publications in a range of formats. Independent advice to governments, animal welfare organisations and the food industry worldwide. Visits to farm animal handling and slaughtering facilities, recommending and advising on improvements where necessary. Funding and support for essential research and other projects aimed at improving animal welfare during transport, in markets and at slaughter. Assistance with development and application of scientific advances into the working practices of the meat industry. The HSA's work has resulted in many significant improvements for food animals around the world and many of the reforms it has promoted in transport, markets and slaughter are now taken for granted. Significant improvements continue to be achieved through working constructively alongside agricultural, meat industry, veterinary and other welfare and professional organisations. The mission of the Countryside Learning is a simple one. It is to educate, inform and inspire children, parents and teachers, so that they can enjoy and appreciate the countryside while having a greater understanding of the wide range of issues surrounding it. We are a national registered charity (327091) formed in 1986. Countryside Learning is focused on providing a variety of educational opportunities designed to connect children with the countryside in a fun and practical way. We hope to nuture a lifelong interest in loving, respecting and learning about the environment. Research shows that learning in the outdoors can bring massive benefits to a child’s confidence, understanding and engagement, together with benefits to their mental and physical wellbeing. We collaborate with several organisations, that seek to promote outdoor learning. Our Countryside Live events provide an opportunity for organisations to come together to engage children with food, farming and natural environment activities. We are member of the Countryside Classroom consortium and are able to exchange knowledge and expertise with other members. The CC website is a great source for resources for our teachers to use back at school. We reach up to 20,000 children per year with our programme of events and the members of our Farms for Schools programme reach a further 300,000 children. . Our events range from visits for a single class right up to an event that caters for up to 4,000 inner city children, when we bring the countryside to them.

Superior Healthcare was founded in 2006 by Stewart Thorp, his father Charles and Sarah Richards in response to their experience of caring for Stewart’s brother and Charles’ son, Alex, who has an acquired brain injury. Alex was knocked from his bicycle whilst cycling on a country lane in 2001, by a motorist who had been using his mobile phone at the time of impact. Although sustaining only minor physical injuries, Alex suffered what proved to be a catastrophic blow to his head. Alex was rapidly transferred to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at King’s College Hospital, London, where he spent four weeks on life support. During a stay on the PICU and Lion Ward that would last almost three months, Alex had a tracheostomy and his breathing was managed by a ventilator. Whilst he was weaned from his ventilator, he continued to be fed via a gastrostomy tube well after his transfer to the Children’s Head Injury Service, based at Chailey Heritage in East Sussex. During a year-long stay at Chailey, Alex would learn to walk and talk again with the support of a team of support workers, nurses and healthcare professionals including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and neurologists whilst a plan was made for his return to the family home. It was then that Charles and Stewart met Sarah Richards, the Registered Nurse who was tasked to recruit the team that would support Alex at home. In ensuing years, Charles, Stewart and Sarah worked alongside a team of healthcare professionals as well as solicitors and case managers to support Alex’s continued rehabilitation including his return to education and participation at Headway – an independent charity working to provide social rehabilitation to adults with an acquired brain injury. From their personal experience, Charles and Stewart identified the importance of a specialised care service that would bridge the gap between independent care providers and national organisations and in 2006, Superior Healthcare was founded with the objective of providing specialised services for people who have complex and long term health needs. Since then, we have worked with children, young people, adults and their families to provide twenty-four hour and respite care, which supports people during rehabilitation or to maintain their health, as well as providing a dignified service for people approaching the end of their lives. At Superior Healthcare, providing a high-quality service is a personal goal. Superior Healthcare works with Nursing & Residential Care Providers, Day Centres and Hospitals throughout Kent by offering a wide range of staffing connected services.

Classes are run by Lead teacher Jane Franklyn, with a team of trainee teachers that have grown through the school. Sparkle is focussed on offering classes to everyone. Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do and no matter your ability, differences or academic level, our classes are adapted to suit every child as an individual. We run regular exams with B.A.T.D and hold a show at a local theatre every 18 months. We are very proud to have recently been shortlisted in the South East Entertainment awards for Dance Teacher and Dance school of the year. Our students regularly take part in charity events, performances, and show opportunities.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is the county's nature charity – the only organisation dedicated wholly to safeguarding Suffolk’s wildlife and countryside. The Trust has led local nature conservation efforts in Suffolk for six decades and has saved some of the county's most important wildlife sites as nature reserves. In the past eight years the Trust has spent over £7 million buying land for wildlife and currently cares for nearly 8000 acres of some of Suffolk's most inspiring wild places. Our nature reserves are open to enjoy whenever you wish, there is no charge - instead we ask you to help us look after them by becoming a member. For animals and plants to thrive they need corridors of suitable habitat - river valleys, hedgerows and gardens, where they can move safely through the landscape. In this sense our nature reserves work as ecological hubs and we work closely with neighbouring landowners, communities and partner organisations to create swathes of wildlife-rich countryside where wildlife can spill out into the wider landscape.
