Activate is a registered Charity which was founded in 2005. We deliver personalised educational and vocational programmes for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities in both Knowsley and Wirral. We have recently been added to the Section 41 Secretary of State approved providers list. Our services include: Study programmes for 19-24 year olds which focus on vocational skills/independent living skills and are funded through the Education Funding Agency If you would like more information about our programmes please see our Admissions section. Important Notice! We are fully aware that this is, and will be, a challenging time for us all; we are indeed in unchartered territory. Advice from the Government and Public Health England is changing on a daily basis so we are just letting you know the situation as it stands at present, and changes that we’ve made at Activate. We will keep all parents fully updated of changes via either telephone calls, letters or the Activate Facebook page. As of Friday 27th March 2020: Easter holidays have been brought forward by a week. Manor Training & Resource Centre (MaTReC) is a voluntary-sector training organisation. Its legal status is that of a charitable company limited by guarantee. Founded in 1987 its primary aim is to empower the local community by delivering low cost training to equip people with the skills to re-enter and/or advance within the labour market. Manor Training & Resource Centre Ltd (MaTReC), evolved from Manor Employment Project (MEP), which began life in 1979. The MEP project was set up to provide premises for small local businesses. By the mid 80s the issue of training had become increasingly important, so MaTReC was established in April 1987, with the express aim of providing local people with the opportunities to obtain skills and qualifications. We now offer training to all the peopleof Sheffield and surrounding areas. MaTReC’s main site was converted from old shops using local labour. It was opened in 1989 by Richard Caborn MP. The charity is constantly updating its programme of courses so whether its Functional Skills Maths and English, GCSE Maths or English or other courses MaTReC will help find the right course for you. We help to re-engage adults furthest away from the job market by identifying and removing barriers to learning. We teach functional basic skills including English, Maths and basic ICT. We pride ourselves in supporting adults with specific learning difficulties to reach their potential to gain confidence and self esteem.

As a social enterprise Vision RCL is committed to working in partnership with the London Borough of Redbridge to deliver a wide range of leisure and cultural services to the communities that we serve. The company is overseen by a Board of 10 Director Trustees including 8 Community representatives and 2 local councillors. The company is led by Iain Varah – Chief Executive and his senior management team: Gareth Morley – Head of Culture & Libraries and Kevin Wackett – Head of Parks & Open Spaces. Vision RCL is a customer focused organisation and our aim is to continually improve the delivery of sustainable leisure and cultural services. Power The Fight is an award-winning charity which aims to be the conduit between communities and policy makers (see our Community Empowerment Cycle diagram above). We create co-produced/co-designed long-term strategies for sustainable structural change. Most of our work is with young people, families, schools, local authorities, faith groups and community organisations who want to be equipped to engage with youth violence issues in their context. We do this in a number of ways: 1. Training and Events At Power The Fight we have access to leading thinkers and practitioners from a range of disciplines working in the field of youth violence. Since the beginning of 2019 we have trained and equipped over 8000 organisations and individuals to make a difference to young people’s lives, including the NHS, schools, faith groups, charities, local authorities and more. Resources At Power The Fight we have developed resources to help organisations, faith and community groups to better understand issues relating to youth violence. These include specialist PowerTalks, links to helpful websites and toolkits. For more information go to PowerTalks or our resources page. 3. Building Connections At Power The Fight we bring community groups together with local authorities, services and other partners to promote mutuality, improve cohesion and effect change. We invest the money we raise into equipping communities to build sustainable, community-owned projects that promote peace and end youth violence. To support our work please donate today. 4. Families At Power The Fight we support families impacted by youth violence. We do this in partnership, providing access to culturally competent therapeutic, financial and legal support. We have also developed our Therapeutic Intervention for Peace programme (TIP) which is now being piloted across London. TIP provides culturally competent therapy to young people, families and frontline staff engaging/impacted by violence affecting young people. Glasgow played a significant role in the early stages of the formation of the RSCDS. A Glasgow Herald announcement invited persons interested in "Scots Country Dances" to an inaugural meeting in Glasgow on 26 November 1923. The Glasgow Branch of the Scottish Country Dance Society became separate from HQ soon afterwards, hence both have a 'founding' date of 1923. ("Royal" was added in 1951.) With no audition and no previous choir experience required, Rock Chorus offers you an opportunity to be part of a vibrant, lively community of singers. Every voice counts here at Rock Chorus and you can rock with us too! Rock Chorus was formed in 2009 by acclaimed singer/songwriter Lauren Field. She now has around 300 members across five choirs in Pinner, Dunstable, Berkhamsted, Milton Keynes and Northwood Hills. Rock Chorus rehearse once a week in each location and the choirs come together for concerts and charity performances. Rock Chorus have appeared at The Tring Festival, The Waterside Festival at Milton Keynes, The Pepper Rock Concert in Berkhamsted, the Woburn Oyster Festival and at Strictly Come Hospice in Watford Colosseum in aid of the Watford Peace Hospice, to name but a few. We have also appeared on several TV and radio programmes for the BBC, ITV and Sky 1. For 9 years running we have performed to sell out audiences at the Stantonbury Theatre and The Venue in Milton Keynes raising over £40,000 for the Bletchley Lions Club charities. Our concerts dates just keep on coming and we are in demand across all of our areas throughout the year. We are now a regular fixture at the Ideal Home Christmas Exhibition and this Christmas holiday was a well needed break after an extremely busy term of Christmas performances and our now legendary Rock Chorus Christmas parties! Rock Chorus has recorded two original singles, "This is our Time," written by Lauren Field and Charles Foskett and "A Million Souls" written by Lauren Field, Charles Foskett and Brian Bennett (The Shadows). In April Rock Chorus recorded their new song at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Rock Chorus headlined and produced its own charity concert, headlining a Concert to an audience of 1000, and with guest stars Mungo Jerry, Osibisa, Alvin Stardust, Tight Fit and Voices with Soul, raising £15,000 for the McMillan Cancer Unit at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital. As part of our ten year celebration we will be putting on a concert at the Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth. We hope that all members will get involved as Every Voice Counts at Rock Chorus!
